Hi all! One of my best memories from playing Halo would be the scarab fights in Halo 3, and I would be so happy if these fights were to return. Do you guys want them to return? I think it would be pretty cool if scarabs appeared in Firefight in Halo 5.
Yes it would be cool if the scarab fight return or something like that. Those moments were so heroic to destroy them IMO and it was good when the Shipmaster were proud of Chief. I also liked the Lich fight but sadly it was appear at once.
I certainly hope so! An increase in difficulty would be nice as well.
After seeing the Harvester in S ops going back to fighting Scarabs would feel kinda lackluster. The same goes for Liches.
We now have the opportunity to either fight a giant Scarab, a flying Scarab or just a regular every day Scarab that weâve already fought multiple times. IMO we should be asking 343 to flesh out the potential of these new vehicles.
If they do return I want more options when taking them down.
The beauty of the Halo 3 Scarab was that there was more than one way of taking them down, shot the legs and climb aboard, destroy the back and shot the power core, or jump off a crane and fight on it while itâs moving.
However one of the problems was this was they all involved shooting the power core, I think a few more options then what Halo 3 offered would be welcome.
Please, no more cheap âweakpoint power core on board go for thatâ, gets kinda boring after a while.
Yes thatâs true and I agree with you avak124.
I donât know, I never really liked fighting them because they were always so simple to destroy.
Scarab fights should indeed return but they also need to be spiced up.
If you think about it the enemies supposed to be the most powerful in Halo games have also traditionally been the one trick ponies: Hunters and Scarabs most notably.
Scarabs need a more detailed interior, with multiple paths around and through the machine instead of just a few ramps on the sides. Also: there should be multiple ways to take it down.
Namely:
1: The Core, but hidden well within the Scarab and not on its butt.
2: By blowing up its legs. The concept of breaking its armor and legs was nice and all, but just make it more difficult to do and have 2 blown off legs result in the thing crashing down. This should not result in an explosion, but should leave the Scarab stationary.
3: Blowing up the control panels. This should at least leave the Scarab stationary.
Also: its defenses were far too limited. Instead of only having big cannons to shoot at us, just make it have some heavy turrets on the sides. You know, pirate ship style. So not the grunt-manned pea shooters you also find on Phantoms, but something a bit stronger.
Ergo:
Scarabs should be rare, truely powerful enemies instead of things you just drive around waiting for it to have a temporary breakdown so you can shoot it in the big flashing behindâŚ
It would be really nice to see them return but I think definitely making them a little more challenging would be a welcome addition.

Agreed. Didnât really like them in Halo 3, way to easy to take down.
I hope so, while the Scarabs in Halo 3 werenât exactly tough they were still fun to beat.
fighting scarabs again would be awesome, nice change of pase from the typical enemies and fun to fight.
Iâve always enjoyed the thrill of jumping on board while itâs still moving. I felt like a pirate whoâs actually a space marine.
But I think they were too easy to take down. If they do come back, they should be a lot bigger so there are more than three enemies to fight, and they should also have more than one step to taking them down.

The one in Halo 2 was even easier than its Halo 3 counterparts. Plasma pistol and BR, call it a day.
