SBMM needs to pick a lane

  1. Do well in match.

  2. Put against pros.

  3. Do poorly in match because I’m out-skilled/playing casually and vibin.

  4. Put against brainlets.

  5. Repeat

Is it so hard to get a game that isn’t against children dribbling on their controllers, but also not against a 4-stack of eSports players. Somewhere in the middle would be nice. Isn’t that the point in SBMM in the first place? Heck, even just pick one for the sake of consistency.

Not every match needs to be “stomp or be stomped”. The closer games are always more fun.

I agree it is a problem and I hope the game gets better and the player base start increasing, at that point we’ll only have the smurfs to ruin our games.

But to my surprise some player quit those rare in the middle games so I suppose some do like stomping on others all the time. Our futur smurfs maybe? :thinking:

I’m of the mindset that if you want a fair balanced match, go play ranked. If you just wanna shoot dudes and don’t really care about the outcome, play socials. Sweating in socials breaks the SBMM and breeds toxicity imo.

How do you suggest they improve it? It’s already setup to match you against players of similar skill level, although unranked players are the unknown I suppose.

Honestly it should have never been implemented, it honestly doesn’t do the social side of the game any good

imo it should be more randomized with stack protection put in place (aka its less likely you will go up against a group of people if you arent in one)

I am just back for the winter update, I haven’t played since June/July or so. The experience thus far has been frustrating.

Maybe it’s just me but I’ve found it to be worse after the winter update but it may just be because I have local region select turned on.

Sbmm since the winter update has been way worse. I jumped to mw2 for a few weeks, got out of the halo gameplay, came back a worse player. Then the sbmm stuck me right back in to onyx/diamond lobbies and now I want to stop again.

Between halo sbmm and mw2 sbmm, I genuinely might stop playing multiplayer games

Did you re-rank after winter update? What was your rank after those 10 games played?

Haven’t played ranked since. Tried to ease back in by playing social…. And even it is stressful :joy:

Checked halo tracker. Also in the uk I keep getting the same opposition over and over again. So I’ve started recognising names

Gotcha… I thought when there’s a rank reset this game doesnt “remember” how well you’ve played before. Maybe it does afterall. Or there’s just a low player pool in UK~ region… Not sure

more random mm is just what it is, random, as opposed to the highly volatile mmr system infinite currently uses that can see you being placed with drastically different skill levels every other match

you would still experience the same thing, but it wouldn’t be as common and it wouldn’t feel as cheap.

I’m under the impression that a rank reset only effects your CSR and that your hidden MMR would remain unchanged for all game modes.

The whole issue with SBMM is that when you’re doing good, it puts you agains “good” players, a.k.a. unkillable desynced PC players… I mean, how can you be bad when you can solo almost three dudes, eat up four nades, direct Spanker hit, whole AR/BR clip, Needler’s crystals don’t attach onto you and so on… I’m getting sick and tired of the game because of that, I’m getting 5-7 desynced PC players almost every match in the recent days (maybe I don’t know something and the game’s completely dead on the consoles already?), I’m just a cannon fodder that doesn’t even deserve assists it seems, and the best part is I’m getting double-pubished because I get banned when I quit too much if such worthless, pointless matches… /rant

They should just make it so you play against players your same level of skill. Not your"hidden" mmr but your actual rank of that playlist
