I think you can get it, it’s just a very rare of a medal. I personally don’t have it and I have been playing since day 1.

Regarding that thread link that was posted, I still stand by my explanation of it in there. The maps use hard-coded insta-death barriers while the medal looks for being killed by the map itself (killed by the guardians) and awarding a player that kill. No maps utilize this as the hard-coded kill zones are what is killing the player and not the map.

You can find out how true this is. Go into Forge on some maps and look for a place where you can die but it doesn’t say you commit suicide and leaves the kill feed blank when you die (like towards the top of the A and B cylinders on Fathom). Then shoot a friend and while damaged have them touch those spots. You will be awarded a Sayanara medal when they die.

Due to the extremely rare nature of being killed by the guardians, it CAN be earned through very rare and limited instances of being awarded a kill on an enemy passenger who’s in your vehicle when it blows up both of you via kill zones, depending on who dies first and at what angle the vehicle is when it explodes.

No not really. People are saying they don’t get the medal because they shoot someone and they fall off the map and die but don’t get the medal, when they should. I explained why they didn’t. It’s a fault on 343 coding it. I have only a couple Sayanara medals when i know i would have a couple hundred if it was implemented properly.

The reason I think it is like this is because while the game properly looks at awarding a player a kill to someone who falls off and gets killed by the guardians, it doesn’t handle people intentionally trying to exploit this in Arena matches. GETTING killed by the Guardians doesn’t dish out Suicide penalties like point loss so people would keep jumping off the maps to avoid a penalty especially if they had the lead. This makes it frustrating for losing teams as someone could hide for a couple minutes, jump off and die, wait 7 seconds respawn, and do it again. That’s probably why they added hard kill areas later on that spanned the bottom of the maps since they can dish out Suicide penalties.

its broken but I got it once so its possible
