Sayonara Medal

The other day I was playing Warzone with some friends, and I noticed that while in my Banshee I somehow got the Sayonara medal. Here is a clip of that. I’ve never gotten the medal before and was under the impression that it was glitched. The medal description reads “Damage a enemy before they fall to their death”. I was a bit confused so I went into theater to re-watch it, but from inside the armory. Here is that clip. It doesn’t appear he fell to his death at all. Also if you look in the original clip the kill feed does not display the regular banshee symbol instead it just says “killed”. Any information regarding why I got the medal in this situation would be greatly appreciated.

Hmm that is odd. I still have not gotten the medal yet as well. But at least you got it.

The sayonnara medal is bugged, its pure luck if you get it when an enemy falls into death.

The thing is in the clip I get it from banshee bombing someone in the armory. Theres no way you could fall to your death in the armory.

The cake is a lie.

If any part of the killed body is glitched outside the map it is interpreted as a fall which give the medal.

Bugged!? Well, that explains why it’s never unlocked it, because I know I’ve definitely damaged opponents before they have fallen off the map on the Rig and Eden.

Can’t wait for that medal, lol

Allegedly, you take fall damage if your shields are down, so taking out shields before they jump off a garage should give you the medal. Allegedly.

I have only gotten this medal once according to the service record here on Waypoint. Don’t recall how I got it though. For certain it was not by what the description says it is because that’s bugged as hell. I have done it several times in arena on Eden and have not once seen the medal pop up.

Just tested that out and no its not possible to take fall damage when your shields are gone. Link.

Maybe he go† collision damage with the wall and got glitched out of map. I dunno.

You can still get it from playing mongoose sumo if the enemy is dumb enough to ride passenger in your mongoose (Drive them off the edge. That’s how I got it.)

Typically you can get the Sayonara medal by damaging an enemy before they fall through the map. That’s how I’ve earned my Sayonaras.

OP, that is so freaking weird.

Only three words can sum it all up.

W… O… W.

I have confirmed that there is indeed fall damage in Halo 5 (Flying to the very top of the Forge Skybox and dropping), so technically speaking this medal is attainable. However, the amount of damage you take from falling is minimal, and there are no points on current multiplayer maps which allow you to fall far enough to take damage on impact.

That’s collision damage built up from the speed. Not fall damage.

That’s one word.

Oh. Right. Three letters, then. :stuck_out_tongue:
