Say NO to pro

They must add filters if they are going to let pro in slayer list. A lot of us don’t want to play that, so why making us wait 5 or 6 games to be able to play a normal slayer?

Slayer pro sucks IMO and deserves his own list. I don’t care if that list is full or not.

With the population low enough overall, the Slayer games cannot be split. So for those fans who want more classic gameplay, the only real option is to have it in the Infinity lists. It is just as unfair for Infinity fans to tell the Classic guys to “adapt” as it is for the classic guys to tell the Infinity guys to “adapt”. Neither option makes anyone happy.

The Pro gameplay is very different from Infinity gameplay, and they really don’t belong together. However, a gameplay option without some of the features of Infinity really is the least 343i could do to satisfy its fanbase. So both Ramirez and I have proposed alternates that are closer to Infinity than Pro, but still remove a lot of the game-induced randomness that makes Classic fans want to explode.

THE MIDDLE GROUND

I love Pro.

But when you get Pro in BTB, I think it could stand to have the Motion Tracker put back in, as BTB maps and 4v4 maps are completely different in terms of nooks, crannies, and the like.

> Slayer Pro should have its own playlist, but since the population is in such a dire state separating the playlists would only create more lag and longer lobby waiting times. So, for now at least, we should keep Pro and Infinity in the same play-list but re-name it Team Slayer.

I want Pro out of Infinity because if I want to play Pro, that’s all I want to play…and when I want to play Infinity, same deal. I do not like being JIP into game types I may not be in the mood to play as I’ll just quit. I have been pushing for the separation of the play lists.

However, the quote above along with its multitude of thanks…is the first sign I have seen, from those that enjoy Pro, that it is a less popular game type. Honesty, I like that!

The argument as to why it should not be moved to its own Play List, is fine. However, I do see deception as to the renaming of the Infinity play list ‘Team Infinity Slayer’ to ‘Team Slayer’. First, that indicates that OP does not believe that Pro will ever be in its own play list due to the very reasons why he/she stated that it should not be moved, that is, low population that actually votes and plays the Pro options. Second, renaming the Infinity to Team Slayer gives a false perception that team Slayer is more popular, a nod back to eh old days of Halo 3 or whatever; simply, wrong and should not and will not happen!

In the end though, Team Throwdown is a almost dead and barley surviving on Life Support play lists as is Team Objective and some other win/loss unpopular lists, if they remain, there be no reason not to have a stand alone Slayer Pro play list. But,if 343i are true to their word, last Bulletin, about consolidation and axing dead play lists, then:

Team Throwdown;
Team Objectives;
Dominion; and
Grifball

need to be either axed, or merged into a single play list…

…in fact, 343i, I suggest that you merge the above four lowly played and populated play lists into one and also throw Slayer Pro into that list. Call it Team Novelty or Team Survival or Team Neverwas or something…and, leave the ever popular, most populated play lists, on launch day, and as of today, BTIS, Infinity Slayer and SWAT, to continue on as always, uncontaminated by unpopular options, Infinity is the majority choice of play style as the facts have shown snce launch day…a fact is a fact.

No ancient history lessons about Halo 3 are valid, as this is about what is and is not popular in Halo 4 MM, and that shows that anything that is not Infinity related is not popular and died long ago with the passing of Halo 3 onto Halo Reach. 343i did the right thing and tried the Team Throwdown, team Objectives and win/loss rankings…the majority do not care for that anymore. 343i spend much time making those lists and making the CSR, and when it comes to those play lists and win/loss CSR, no one (almost) turned up for the party. The population was always small for those lists and still are. If you want a history lesson,go over to Halo 3 MM now. Even there, the social lists are way more populated than the Ranked play lists. And, same with Halo Reach…

Fact is, the ranked stuff and so called more competitive play lists, are avoided in Halo 3, Halo Reach and Halo 4…

OT: (Sorry OP) Pro is not popular over at Halo 3 MM, it is/was not popular over at Halo Reach and it has not been popular the two times it has appeared here at Halo 4. 343i, you will need to look at the history of the three games mentioned,look at the facts about the win/loss completive play lists and ranks and Pro settings and decided, is it worth bothering with at all with the next Halo?

I would argue that it is worth it!

I want every one to have something to play and work towards that suits them. That must mean, play lists and game modes that the majority have proven to like, Infinity style. There needs to be more load-out slots, more AAs, more tac and support packages/upgrades added to the existing ones. And, for those aging Halo 3 fans (note, I enjoy Halo 3 MM now) there must on launch day of the next Halo, be play lists and game modes that suites them, such as Pro, forced load-outs, no radar etc etc. 343i, if you do this, I predict that the population drop off will not be like it was for Halo 4. 343i, it will be worth the effort…despite my general bashing of Halo 3,I do see a need for a balance with the next Halo, one that caters to everyone. However, those Halo 3 types will just have to accept that Infinity settings are going to stay and are popular and that they won’t have to play them if they do not want to as they’ll have options which do not have such settings.

Something for everyone.

again, say no to pro

i would like to point out that switching game to game between infinity and pro settings is just a bit too drastic. i can not switch my game so quickly when sometimes i only play a few games.

it is hard to get in a groove, then be thrown from that groove. or to never find the groove at all. very frustrating.
