I can’t believe some people actually don’t like the Pro settings…
Must be newcomers to the series.

Not surprising, considering the regular Infinity settings were added to attract that exact audience.

They basically pulled a One (Xbox One) they gave all the avid fans something completely different and out of place from what we’ve been addicted too and bought the game for the addictive competitive gameplay. Sure there’s a learning curve but that’s what stimulated new comers to play and to get better. This XP and weapon unlocking and perks and unlocking AA’s and stuff that only lasts for so long. I mean this game’s skill gap is basically non existent. Ill give 343 this they were onto something with Ordinance and AA’s at least the ones that weren’t previously equipment pickups are great and if they were picked up at the base or came in Ordinance with the classic game play I could see it working perfectly at least if they go along with the throwdown settings of Ordinance drops. They have a second chance with Halo 5 but that’s it. There are other issues like missing features but the main thing that drives it all is the gameplay.
i don’t really care what i play i like variety

> Why should radar be off? It’s part of the game. There is nothing more skillful about having no radar. Sprint+No radar just makes for more easy cheap assassination kills.
Having no radar increases the skill gap. You can’t get away with just staring at your radar, you actually have to be aware of where you, your teammates, and the enemy are.
Watch a pro gameplay in team throwdown. They rarely get backsmacked because their awareness is so high.

They barely get backsmacked because they always play in a party and constantly communicate. A lot of them also have high quality headsets like turtle beaches so they can hear when somebody is sprinting up from behind.
A lot of people don’t go in with a party all the time though and don’t have turtle beach headsets. I know I don’t and that’s why I hate no radar. Most of my friends don’t play Halo 4 anymore and the people I get teamed up with never communicate.

Hey now, CE veteran here and I don’t enjoy playing without a motion sensor. That and shields is what separates halo from generic fps games for me.

We cannot design a gametype within a largely social playlist/population that is designed as if everyone is playing full teams and with headsets. The vast majority of halo 4 players don’t communicate to their team so naturally they use the radar as their second set of eyes instead. You are both relying on a way to keep track of people, one is just independent and the other is team based. One could argue that having someone tell you who is where with what power weapon actually is slightly less skilled than a person focusing on both their screen and the motion sensor, and only vaguely knowing where that person is and with no idea what weapon they have and yet still taking them down. Also I might add that if you have a motion sensor, so does the other guy…
I make sure to back out of any Infinity gametype if Pro is one of the options. If I know my teammates picked it, I sometimes even sabotage them before I leave.
And I’m going to keep doing every time unless I get an Infinity map that was a much better choice than the Pro one.
> I’ll play whatever. I’ll just run around and shoot people with light rifle in any mode. PEWPEW
Bingo
> Well, I’d say the OP’s plan backfired. That just goes to show that even people who like the game understand the importance of having different options for different players. You like Infinity settings? Plenty of playlists with those, no problem. You want a more traditional experience? No problem. Nobody has to play either if they don’t want to.
Couldn’t of said it better myself

Always online? lolno. Also I don’t trust Bungie after Reach
Say YES to Pro!!!
And NO to Infinity!!!
Pro is what barely made me try playing H4 again lol, but im still so -Yoinking!- sick of camo and Personal Ordnance when Infinity shows up…
I just don’t like playing Pro Gametypes, I have nothing against it or those who Enjoy it, Anymore than most of them have against People who Prefer Infinity Modes, I just want them to be Separate, So we can always Play what we want to. Have Pro Slayer and Objective Playlists and Infinity Slayer and Objective Playlists, Toss in Snipers and Swat, Grifball and Flood, and Sounds like it would Work
and Sure Pro BTB (Add Objectives) and Infinity BTB (Objectives and Slayer with Ordinance)
I think that would make people Happy. Since as it is, When people who want Infinity join a Game and Just get 3 Choices for Pro Variants they will Just Back out before Voting which causes the teams to be Unbalanced, and when More People do Join, and see they are down by 30 they will just leave too.
The only thing wrong with pro is people camping for assassinations. Other than that I dont see a problem.
> The only thing wrong with pro is people camping for assassinations. Other than that I dont see a problem.
Same thing can be said for radar gametypes.
Sit around corner > wait for enemy to run past you (who you know will be coming because of the radar) > sprint and assassination
The problem is on some maps without the motion sensor it gets really annoying to deal with people. Especially on maps like vortex with multiple levels and caves. I like pro but I hate the lack of motion sensor, I’ve used it every halo title to great effect.

Agreed on that part, Vortex & Meltdown without motion tracker can be very frustrating. Although I have to say that Ragnarok, a map that I used to hate a lot, is way more enjoyable in Pro.
I will say YES to slayer pro.
An actual mode that requires some thinking and skill. It’s the only logical and good mode to play really.
