Say... is this guy right about this?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7ykdU2fNBU

I know it’s you know who (if you know him) but it’s not about H5 itself, it’s about us, and what we say when people say certain things about the game. Just be open minded because I think he/she has a point about something.

I kind of disagree with him on the experiences part, but I can see where he is coming from at the same time. I think it’s best to make experiences that cater to a wide audience, but I don’t see the problem with a few gametypes targeted at a specific set of people either.

I overall agree with the rest of the video.

LOL, this is just a forum posted in voice ranting. How can he call himself a fan when he just got the 1000 medals achievement, looks like he didn’t even touch MCC. I was done the moment he mentioned sprint

Only in this defense, it was fed up with it being broken, and just went on to Halo Reach I guess.

I guess he’s scared of the community being divided.

There’s always going to be division to an extent. A community, by its definition has a variety of opinions and preferences and will gravitate towards certain playlists based on those preferences

Yeah, but I think this guy is worried about a huge division because of the Arena and Warzone things.

He does bring good points but I don’t fully agree. He says there is 3 games in 1. I think those ‘3’ games will keep H5 fresh and fun. Not stale gameplay that repeats over and over. Also, he’s bringing up what sounds to be saying 343 broke Halo with sprint and AAs but Bungie was the originator for that.

And as long as those 3 games have some common ground, there won’t be some major game-crushing division.

And yes indeed Bungie was the one that introduced AAs, and 343 was the one that ultimately took them out and replaced them with what overall is a better ability system for Arena, and potentially the game as a whole.

I actually do not agree with him.

He says he wants everybody to buy it, and if it sucks, the population drop will prove to 343 that people do not want this “modernized” version of Halo. Of course it will help, but the issue is that I don’t want them getting peoples’ money this time.

This is the 3rd game (which he mentions) to do this. If we keep buying it, 343 isn’t really being taught a lesson. A low population didn’t stop them twice, so why are we to assume it will stop them this time?

By not buying Halo 5, we’re explaining to them up front that we do not like the direction they’re taking it, and we’re going to affect them financially for it. Halo 4 was the game in which we do what the guy in the video is asking. We bought, we hated, we stopped playing. Did they go back to classic? Not even close.
Now, it’s our turn to call the shots, and that means we don’t buy Halo 5.

The downfall in this tactic, at least for me, is that all the other FPS options are absolute jokes. I’ll probably end up buying Halo 5 anyway because COD, BF, and the rest are atrocities. 343 is lucky that nobody else knows how to make a good MP FPS, and by fluke, will probably garner many sales from people like me who have nothing better to buy.

This is totally an opinion and many would argue otherwise. Although I won’t care I’ll just buy what interests me, I barely bought MCC because I had a feeling of its downfall.

I have to agree that I like the older styyle Halo - games over this new modernized stuff.
But was Halo 4 that bad? Not to me.
Was the MCC (besides the MP launch) that bad? Not to me.
And am I going to buy Halo 5? Yes ofcourse

Because lets face it. You rather play a Halo you like less, than no Halo at all.
