Sarah Palmer needs to shut the -Yoink- up before Samuel L Jackson put a bullet in her -Yoink- for good. Spartan OPs has one of the worst dialogues of any triple A title video games, the level of character development so far is on par with that of Starcraft II, which is absolutely unacceptable.
Of all the things that are wrong with this game, you pick the dialogue to complain about.
Good job.
Palmer had quite a bit of potential for being my favorite Halo character. Unfortunately, she fell short as she pretty much ended up being annoying and often times stupid. Nothing about her is leader material. She constantly puts down the most valuable of her team. I hate her.
I don’t mind the egghead comments, but I can’t say I enjoy the Halsey hatred. Then again, that comes from a fan of the Halo Universe who’s read every book and doesn’t buy this “Halsey is a war criminal” garbage that ONI is putting out to hide something.
And yet a friend of mine would have liked to see Palmer slap Halsey.
Halsey? A War Criminal?! HA! HA HA HA HA!

I’m right there with you. I still haven’t worked out if this new angle is a smear campaign by ONI to discredit Halsey in the eyes of everyone else or if its just shoddy unreasonable writing.
Still not sure why Palmer has it in for Halsey to such an extent. I would like to think that there is more to it than we know, for instance if a relative of Palmer was one of the S-IIs that died during augmentation or something to justify her bizarre hatred.
If its just plain old “I hate her because I was told she was bad” then thats just confirmation that its bad writing. Any idiot in the UNSC would understand that Halseys actions saved humanity itself and that sometimes you have to make a tough call, let alone a Spartan-IV commander.

I agree.
I also just don’t buy that Halsey could actually be considered a ‘war criminal’ when you think about it. Everything she did was under the direction of ONI’s top brass, and they gave her very close to free reign. That damn near makes them responsible for anything she does. And she also agonized over every difficult and questionable decision she made, but she always did it for the greater good - even if it was with the initial plan of quelling rebels, it was for the peace of humanity. It’s not like she did it all as some fun game to watch unfold.
No, ONI is up to something. They’re plastering her as a criminal to turn people against her and to try and discredit her because she’s obviously ruffled a few feathers on some new issue that has come up and they want her silenced.

kbye.
They have to get rid of that moron and seriously stop shoving these stupid characters who are trying to look all tough in front of us all the time. Let me play the Halo 4 BETA in peace.
The fifth episode is going to be called “Eggheads”.

I quit.

Totally Agree on this. Saying Halsey is a War Criminal infuriates me. Yes, the kidnapping was unethical, and wrong, but everything Halsey did was approved by ONI. They knew what she was doing, and they approved it, and gave her the funding to support everything. Ergo, ONI is more at fault for even allowing these practices to continue to go on, and be funded. (I hate ONI. Nothing ever bodes well from a secret organization. And Parangosky can go to hell.)
I recently got into a fistfi-- debate about Halsey, where my friend was saying she was a heartless scientist who used the Spartans to secretly fund her own personal military force.
Halsey felt bad for the kidnappings, but it had to be done for the sake of Humanity. Saying she felt no remorse for the Spartans is just stupid.
-shoves Halsey’s Journal down everyone’s throats angrily-
Putting down?
You know that’s military way of life right?
It’s Actualy not putting or talking anything down.
Commanders are anything but sweet talkers.
I believe alot of you know nothing or close to it in the ways governments or military work.

Spartan IV’s are just upgraded ODST’s. They hold the same value, same attitude as egoistic attitude infested ODST’s. Hence why she can repeat “eggheads” over and over. Or as I highlighted.
And Sarah Palmer wouldn’t have known about her relative. Because all of those processes were secret. Her “relative” died of natural causes or a disease. As how the plan was from the beginning. And I doubt they would choose a soldier from the same family to risk exposure.

You’re just supposed to shoot and flip switches.

It’s all we expect of the Chair Force.
On the issue of Palmer and her dialogue, I agree it is a huge let down. They had a chance to make an awesome character, but failed so far. Who knows maybe it will all turn around. There still are plenty of episodes left.
On the issue of Halsey being a “war criminal” I think she is called a war criminal because she commandeered a ship and took a couple of Spartans out of battle and hid at Onyx. This happens somewhere in the books. That is why Paragnosky has it out for her as far as the war criminal stuff goes. ONI knew about the kidnappings, but did not approve of the flash cloning. Please correct me if I am wrong. It has been a while since I read all the books.
While what Halsey did was under ONI’s orders, her work was highly classified and most likely had very strict “need-to-know.” Commander Palmer would only know what her superiors told her about the program because she wouldn’t be able to find anything else out about the Spartan II program. The Spartan IV’s probably don’t even know what they were augmented with, just that it works. While I don’t like Commander Palmer, her lack of knowledge on Doctor Halsey’s work and what really happened isn’t her fault.
