No 343 is particularly bad. There are always little unannounced hotfixes and tweaks but I have never heard of a AAA developer not be able to give a solid release date for an update.
Even if they have to wait for a green light from Microsoft they could still have a basic idea of when that will happen, and then give a reasonable date. For instance if the window is the week of Monday the15th, they could just say Friday the 19th and nobody would have an issue with it.

Reddit has a vote system which hides the bad comments. They’re still there but generally you’ll see positive or constructive comments instead of DAE 343 SUX LEL

I’m just a one site guy. I hate social media for the most part and try to stay away from it and things like reddit. Just one more time suck as far as I’m concerned.
I don’t think its unreasonable to expect official updates on the official site, maybe some communication would clean up this cesspool?

No one is arguing that there needs to be less communication on waypoint. Just know that they do use other outlets for community outreach. It’s smart because not everyone uses waypoint, like how you don’t use social media often. It’s a tricky balance.
