Is there a way to save rotations of the same spartan ‘mark VII’ in favorites so I don’t have to switch each time?

Unfortunately, no, but they have an almost useless feature that lets you favorite things with a star, then you can manually filter every single cosmetic tab to sort by favorites, and select it, instead of scrolling for 45 minutes on the miserable horizontal bar of all the stuff you don’t use or own. We should really be able to hide what we don’t use or own by default, especially stuff that isn’t available anymore. It’s awful UI design

It’s a deliberate decision not to let you hide things you haven’t bought, they use it as a ‘silent salesman’ to drive more traffic to the store.

Yeah see, that would be a great plan, if you could actually buy them. Unfortunately, for whatever convoluted reason, 343 won’t let us just buy stuff straight from the customization menu, they insist on locking stuff that isn’t featured that week, so most of it will sit there forever unable to be purchased, for the next 10 years, slowly building up a pile of garbage that you can never buy, until there is a list of 10,000 things at the end of the game’s lifespan, that you never bought or wanted to buy

For the life of me I don’t know why they haven’t included this yet, I believe literally everyone would agree it was a good idea. I can’t think of many recent games with customization that don’t have this feature.
I basically just never change my Spartans at this point because I don’t want to forget the build I put together. So what does that do? It prevents me from trying out new parts and pieces. And what does that mean? It means I am far less likely to spend money in the shop unless it’s something incredible. (Plot twist, it’s pretty much never something incredible)
I would give names to the layouts and feel a little more connected to it. Just me, I guess I’m focused on this atm because the lagging is a little distracting, but I’ll either get used to it, or hopefully they will fix it

It’s a reminder of the stuff you missed out on, so don’t let anything by next time! You must check the store daily and buy anything you don’t have immediately, otherwise it is gone forever.

Sad thing is, they don’t even have enough content to do daily stuff anymore. They have to desperately drag along the three or four (maybe new, maybe recycled) weekly items for 6 months.

We need to be able to save a bunch of favourite Spartans… and then be able to choose them in the pre-game loading screen.

Don’t count on it. That one “rare” item that will generate a ton of FOMO might just show up for a very brief window. You can’t let your guard down with 343.
Overall not a bad idea. I think personalized “Kits” would be a great option later down the road. Especially if they keep planning on putting things in, it’s just too much. Especially once cross core drops
Instead of scrolling different cores, when we get cross-core, 343 should repurpose the core selection garage with presets instead, so we scroll through our garage of our favorite cross-core creations we made, like an outfit closet
