I’m also facing this issue. Maybe it is related to the sign in stuff, because previously I was playing multiplayer on Steam but now I’m playing the game pass version for campaign, and it did give me that sign in window. I had one long playthrough where I completed 3 main missions and several FOBs/HVTs/rescued squads.
I tried deleting the save game folder, but it doesn’t look like anything gets restored by cloud saves when I do, the game just shows “New Game” with no option to continue/load. If I restore the folder, the option to Continue/Load comes back but it still does nothing after the countdown.

I also have this issue. I finished the first mission. Decided to save there and come back the next day because it was late and then I couldn’t reload my game. Restarted a new one and the same issue happened haha 343 PLEASE fix this issue. I won’t be playing again until an announcement is released on a fix for this. WHich is a shame because the game looks beautiful and feels fun!!

I’m having the exact same issue on my series x. When I try to start my saved campaign game it counts down and then nothing happens it just stays in the loading screen. I can click continue again and it does the same thing. This is ridiculous! I spent $500 on your console and then pre order the game for $70 and this is what we get. Now I’m going to have to start my game all over and hope this doesn’t happen again! Like I said ridiculous!!!
can confirm that we might of found the issue. i noticed after you said this prior, everytime i had a glitchy screen and i got the dead camera bug it was because of the sign in… ive been backing my save file up still everytime just incase but i havent actually run into the issue again at all
Hey, same thing here. Plugged in a second controller to play It Takes Two with my girlfriend. Whoops, save file gone. We didn’t even play the game!

I too am having this issue. Just lost 10 hours of gameplay.
I didnt do anytthing. Maybe updated windows app?
I took day off yesterday and didnt play the game cause was mnny birthday - NOW i logged in this mornign to finish the last mission… and…
bam, 3rd poerson view././. I spawn then i de spawn… rinse and repeat… now its sayign i have only played for 30 seconds, 0% progress that was 43%… and i cant restore my save?

My save is broken too. I quit out in the middle of the House of Reckoning mission which I think its very close to the end of the game – a character JUST told me “the end is coming” – came back and it loaded into a death state.
Now when I try to continue or load game the countdown finishes and nothing happens. Save file says 0%
Seems that I’m not alone here. I just lost like 15 hours of campaing. Any of you were playing both W11 and Xbox? I think my issue was that I left the game on Quick Resume and hours later, open the game on W11.

Not trying to spam, guys, but the title of the video on youtube is “The Cause of the Halo Infinite Save File Corruption Bug”. I’ve taken to calling it the double sign-in bug, because that best expresses what the issue is. If you sign in more than once on the same account during a game, it will immediately break your game and corrupt your file. If you are signed in more than once when you start the game, or sign in again on the menu, and then load in your game, it will corrupt that game and you won’t be able to play it again. Make sure you check that you are only signed in with one controller, or keyboard and mouse, or any other input. And make sure that no one else is signed in on your account, or that you aren’t remotely signed in somewhere else.

I’m also getting this Save file error/corruption. Windows 10 Xbox app. Ryzen 7 5800x 3070.
Not gona start the campaign until I know I won’t waste 10 hours like last time. Absolute BS.

I have the same problem on halo infinite game pass pc and xbox series s, I had 15 hours of heroic play, it’s very frustrating, I was waiting so much for this game after 1 year of delay, very disappointed, I hope for a bet updated quickly to fix this problem.

Sounds like you got the save corruption bug. So this seems to happen when a new input is detected, like a Bluetooth controller, or if your controller disconnects and you reconnect it. If you click on the sign in when it pops up, you will be signed in twice on the same account. This is what breaks the game, and will ruin any campaign you are in, load, or start. Just closing the prompt will not ruin your game, and you can keep playing with a controller. Also, to check if you are double signed in, when starting or loading a campaign, when the loading bar pops up it should say CAMPAIGN 1(1). If it says CAMPAIGN 2(2), it’s probably too late and your campaign is borked lol.
This sounds like what happens when you are signed in twice on the same account and you start a new game. If the sign in prompt comes up and you press “let’s go” in a campaign, or before a campaign, it will break the game. This is what is causing all those corrupted save files.

I just bought a new controller yesterday and starting playing. I can say I’ve encountered this bug and it sucks because I had my grapple shot and shielding fully maxed out. I didn’t realize hooking a new controller up will cause you to have to sign in again.
I don’t mind starting a new save file since I can just burn through it to where I was but I’m seriously pissed about this.

The worst part about this, is that 343 will in no way take ownership of such a colossal screwup. They will in NO WAY try to compensate us for what we lost. Now don’t get me wrong I understand there’s probably not a way to fix the corrupt save file, but something to show to at least acknowledge that “hey WE screwed up and here is something to at least help compensate for OUR screwup” I’m just so sick of these idiotic AAA companies getting away with such poor performance by all marks and NEVER being held accountable
Like I play Genshin Impact as well, and anytime the game’s servers are offline long than expected for routine maintenance players are given premium currency as compensation. The company is owning their mess up and giving away actual premium currency which may as well be real money to them. But I don’t think 343 is capable of even thinking like that which is honestly just heart breaking.
