i am having the same issue, I have restarted my PC, redownloaded the game, you name it, does anyone know if 343 acknowledge this big issue
Technically they don’t, that’s why we need to send more support tickets reporting the bug, right now MP has almost if not all their attention.
Only if we continue to report and disseminate the information could it become a sufficient priority for them to attend to it.

Same problem here, i can-t play anymore my save doesn’t load after the coundoun… There is no way i start over i’m pissed.
Same here. Was playing fine up until yesterday when I somehow loaded into an FOB that had been re-captured by banished wherein I was killed and the camera was stuck in third person. I exited and tried to reload and it hasn’t been launching since then. All I see is the countdown timer. Been playing on pc Game pass. This sucks. I had beaten the campaign on heroic and had gotten all the skulls, so I don’t want to uninstall the game and have it reset my progress :c Hopefully they get this fixed.
I’ve opened a support ticket and been told to play the first mission “Warship Gbraakon” again and then trying to reload my corrupt save game.
Sadly it didn’t work at all except i wasted time playing the first mission again -.-
So many having this problem and 343 isn’t saying anything about it.
I received another response on my ticket I submitted last week. This explains that the campaign has been updated however it will not fix my issue…
Shame but I’m moving on.
wait what, can you clarify or post the reply you got? Are they saying the quietly updated the campaign so this won’t happen anymore but it won’t restore your lost save? I’ve already assumed we’re not getting our progress back but have been specifically holding off on starting again not knowing if this can happen again or not
I’m still baffled that this game breaking issue hasn’t even been acknowledged despite people on game pass, steam and Xbox consoles all reporting it and don’t have time to waste starting over a campaign that could randomly break and force me to start over again.
I am having the same issue! I can’t load any files… The only way I can play the campaign is if I press new game every time…
Good luck, I restarted the game from the beginning since my last message on the forum and I had time to finish it at 95%, and this bug is still not officially recognized.
This halo is very good despite this problem. 343 wake up.

Exact same thing, was stuck in third person and then it wouldn’t load
heck i was on what i think one could consider the final stretch? “Silent Arbitorium” , waited till it said it finished saving , had to call it a night considering it was already late and had to get to work in the morning…come back home to play it and just crashes as soon as it starts trying to load the map…(PC Win 11 , gamepass) , havent gotten a response on my ticket yet…not expecting much though at this point tbh…and definetly dont feel like doing the campaign from the start if thats how my first playthrough goes…kind of a massive let down and really hurts any urges to want to play it again…;_; i understand the devs will be busy taking their breather for the holidays , it would still be nice to get a genuine response all the same though (from someone who has decent CS skills to say the least…after seeing some of what other responses people have said it doesnt sound like theyve had anyone with decent CS skills >.>)
Update: Unfortunately I had to start a New game and it ended up working. Luckily it kept my skulls I unlocked, but I sincerely hope this isn’t gonna happen again. It’s frustrating that the game is so damn good, but at the same time there’s clearly stability/optimization issues that are taking away from the experience.

Same problem. Unfortunately I already clicked on the lets go pop up so my file might be corrupted now. The save feature in this game is horrible. Why not allow a manual save?
This just happens to me near the end of the game. Seriously 343i this needs to be addressed.

Same, happened to me on gamepass, they need to fix this. They’re probably overwhelmed right now but this should be on top of their priority list. It’s a game breaking bug.

So everyone thats complaining about this right now, you do know we found whats causing this and the workaround to avoid it. there is even youtube videos…
Its an issue caused by gamepass and the xbox app, not 343. thats why steam has zero issues with this and its isolated to pc gamepass users.
Any save you already have that wont load is corrupted. start a new save and if the popup to log into xbox ever pops up on you, exit out of the screen. if you hit the “lets go” buttton (i think thats what it says) and log into xbox, you double log in and you can kiss your save file goodbye because its corrupted now
