Save file not loading - corrupted save file

Same problem here, save corrupt, I was in the nexus campaign.

The save files are somehow tied to profiles so this wont work.

I know because I’ve been wresting with Infinite trying to get it to recognise it’s OWN and uncorrupted save files for the past couple of days.

There must be a salted identifier in the files which the game reads and if it can’t match it to a key generated with the current profile then it doesn’t load.

Literally every other game launcher i sync saves to OneDrive, ironically the Microsoft game launcher i cant.

I have opend a ticket, but yet to be replied…

So now this is starting to be an issue on xbox aswell I was litrally in the middle of a mission when Halo crashed hard, (audio distorted and all) and then halo immediately went through a 1gb update and now I am no longer able to load my game save

great, so we can’t even hope someone will post save games … what a mess.
I really don’t want to start from the beginning, after 10 hours playtime it is too boring.

Hopefully the find a way to fix this.

I don’t know if someone already posted something like this, but I’ve been playing over 5 days on a new campaign eversince happened to me and haven’t got the bug yet, not even the pop-up asking to relogin again.
I believe whoever said it is because halo or game pass or xbox app recognizing two different controllers might be right, because this time I am only playing with keyboard+mouse and it is very very good. Maybe could help someone else too.

I’ve tried everything so you all don’t have to:

  • Restarted Computer
  • Reinstalled Halo
  • Toggled on/off HD texture pack
  • Signed out completely on Xbox and MS. Ended the process of all Ms and Xbox apps in task manager. Didn’t login until I opened halo from the program files and it prompted me. was thinking it would resync the save but nope.
  • I completely deleted ALL my save files, even my main one that I had a good chunk of time in. was willing to just restart it. still didn’t work.
  • Opened a ticket with support and got a response that they are aware of it and ā€œAt this time, we don’t have a workaround and can’t predict when there might be a resolution.ā€

wishful thinking that we’ll get an update before January but who knows. campaign was super fun too, bummed I spent $60 on something that completely does not work.

more like xbox needs to fix their gamepass. Kind of hard to fix this on 343 end when there is no issue to the game and the issue is with gamepass’ cloud

Hi, it doesn’t seems to be a problem related to Game Pass Cloud since the problem is also present on steam version of the game. It is more likely related to the game trying to manage two profiles at the same time, like in co-op, but co-op isn’t there. Maybe I’m wrong but is how it seems to me.

So after reading the answers from support i decided to open a ticket myself to help bring some attention to the problem, i got the same answer:

And they basically advice to keep doing just that, sending support tickets to get dev team attention.

That’s just an automated reply to acknowledge receipt of the ticket.

Definitely encourage submitting tickets. Lots of tickets indicates the issue affects more users, so an issue be given a higher priority.

So this has happened to me on 2 games on gamepass now, once with Mech warrior 5:mercenaries and now with halo infinite campaign. Both times I left the game open and went and took a nap and when I came back my PC had gone to sleep as well. Lost all progress in both games, Mech warrior being the worst since I lost weeks of progress instead of days with infinite. Was starting tro lose faith in Microsoft already when they botched my account being hacked a few years ago and refused to refund me on on $60 on an account that I’ve used for years,spent 1k’s on and had both the games the hackers bought as gifts (notified them before they were redeemed}. now I’m done, If they can’t even get there game rental service right I might as well go with any of the other options out there

Your issue may be that it is in fact loading your game, but it doesnt show a loading screen or bar. I thought I had the same issue as you becuase the same thing happened, but after tabbing back into the game from looking at your post, the campaign save had loaded for me. Start the save then wait a few minutes and see what happens, everyone on this post.

Hit play and wait, it doesnt show a loading screen or a bar indicating the level is starting, it just takes about 30-60 seconds for the game to actually start. I thought it was a save issue too until I tabbed out to read this and tabbed back in to find my save was up finally

Damn. Sorry I’m not the only one. Got 76% done on legendary, having cleared out the map as much as I could. It was a pain, but it was getting done.

So I decided to start a new game on easy, basically dash all over the place and do what I did on my now corrupt save, got to where my game crashed which was at the end of mission cutscene, I know it was the end because I got the achievement seconds before it crashed, flicked it back to legendary, finished the game, but it didn’t count towards the legendary achievements. Says I finished it on Easy.

I think that pisses me off the most.

You can see the achievements track your progress per difficulty, and I finished what missions I had not finished on legendary, but still didn’t count. Makes me wonder if anyone who got bored on easy or normal switched to heroic or legendary only for the game to recognize the entire playthrough at the lowest tier you play.

The back and forth with no reward to show for it is what bums me out.

I’ll reiterate, they need to fix this ASAP! This is not OK! This should be top priority!
I don’t want to start a new save just for the same thing to happen again…
