After playing the flight the last couple of days, one of the things I noticed is that the maps feel quite dull in colour and could really do with in simple/less knowledgable terms; increasing the saturation of colour.
Even looking at the grass on one map, it looked like it could just be a bit greener or the sandy/dusty map could be a bit oranger.
Using Halo 3 as an example, Valhalla’s grass is nice and green, sandtrap and high ground, the sand is much more yellow/orange.
wait what? The only one I would argue that lacks color is live fire and that makes sense given its a training ground (its green is also militatry green which makes sense). Its gonna be a bit muted. Recharge has tons of vibrant yellows and blues

Yeah lol, yards tend to lose their color if you toss enough frag grenades into it.

The maps color are my favorite part of them. They feel worn and dirty like military installations and war ravaged places should. It makes the visual style seem far more mature too.
I thought the maps were pretty colorful, especially compared to most of Halo 5’s maps. Live fire was mostly white walls with some black metal flooring but that makes sense considering it is a military training ground. The grass itself being a bit more brown and dead looking makes sense considering Spartans are trampling all over it every day throwing explosives on it lol. Bazaar could maybe use a little more color but again that’s in the middle of a desert so it makes sense that it would be kind of brown all over.
I also think the color is a touch lacking. There should be a saturation slider (1-100%. Default at maybe 50%?) under the graphics settings. Let people customize their experience on their side. Personally, I think I would add 5-10% more saturation. Just that extra little edge, you know?

I guess I’m in the minority on this one so far it seems. I get it that it would make sense for it to be this way from the reasons you have given, but I’m more of a guy who doesnt care if the appearance makes sense and im more of a “I just like my maps pretty and vibrant” kind of guy…

We have to remember what state the universe is in with Cortana tea bagging humans with the Composer.

Lol I don’t, I use the recommended settings but couldn’t you turn yours up a bit while playing Infinite?
That build was a few months old and probably quite a bit different visually from what we’ll see in the final product, especially in terms of polish. I’m sure colors, textures, explosion & fire animations, lighting, ray tracing, and a bunch of stuff I don’t understand or have enormous amounts of ignorance of will be slathered all over the game to make it look substantially better than what we saw in this flight.
