Satisfied with Jinouchi yet?

Listen to the music in the new animated poster video. Nice blend of old and new in there. Jinouchi seems to be doing what you lot want, so can we not have another Marty thread plz?
Link.

We’ve already heard all of this music in the vidocs but I agree I am very excited with where the music is going.

If you want to hear more of this stuff search “Halo 5 soundtrack sample” on youtube. Someone kindly muted the voices in the vidocs so that we can hear a bit of what the H5 OST will sound like.

I liked his work in Halo 4 too.

I mean seriously “117” is amazing. One of my favourite themes!

Nothing really “bad”, the beta music was meh though. However this has given me hope.

What do you mean ‘yet?’

Kazuma Jinnouchi’s tracks from Halo 4 have been on my MP3 player for years. His pieces in Halo 4 respected the Halo ‘Legacy’ sound that Marty established and added onto them with his own flavor, just like Stephen Rippy before him with the Halo Wars soundtrack. I let the beta sit on menu screen for ages before it was even live just listening to the three or so tracks it had cycle. I was overjoyed when I heard he was lead and Davidge was his backup for H5.

Not to talk bad about Davidge, of course. Excellent musician, love Massive Attack to death I do, but… he isn’t good at Halo music. Sorry, Neil.

I voted ‘Fish’, though. Because how could I not?

Davidge is actually off this next game. I think it’s due to contractual things. He’s doing other stuff though.

Curious, did he do the music for both Locke and Chief trailers?

EPIC! Just integrate some of the classic Halo themes (Classic Halo theme, Unforgotten, Leonidas, Three Gates/Black Tower, Out of a Shadow, Behold a Pale Horse, Reclaimer, In Amber Clad, etc.), as well as some parts of tracks from H4, like cues from or remixes of 117, Revival, Immortal, Majestic, To Galaxy and Faithless, and make everything else new and awesome.

I actually don’t see what the big fuss is all about with Jinnouchi. His pieces seem to fit Davidge’s in the Halo 4 soundtrack - it seems as though they make a good team. That said, I do like many of Davidge’s tracks better than many of Jinnouchi’s. I don’t understand why everyone seems to think “117” is the track from the Halo 4 soundtrack. I thought it was fitting and mediocre in its place at the game’s epilogue. It wasn’t exceptional.

His other contributions struck me as less distinct than Davidge’s. And I found his work in the Halo 5: Guardians beta to actually be bad. I disliked the menu music. I didn’t think it sounded good. It sounds okay in this animated cover art video, but quite different than I imagined it might.

I’m just not one of the people who drooled all over the place over “117”. I actually appreciate Tom Salta’s contributions to Halo’s music a little bit better than either Davidge’s or Jinnouchi’s. His work in the two twin stick shooter installments was absolutely stunning, especially Halo: Spartan Strike. He’s very talented with the anniversary remasters, too. I think he might just be a better fit for this franchise.

I don’t know Dude. That track was really what made the epilogue so epic. To each their own, I guess.
