Anyone else agree? That lady is such a short-sighted b*** I would love to see Kelly 087, or Linda 052 just completely take her out…that or an Elite will do. A nice sword through the back.
I’m waiting for this moment…
Palmer has just finished commanding majestic… etc and is about to take an R&R, only to see the door she is about to go out of open. Stood there is John 117 who starts walking towards her while dragging a Gravity Hammer along the floor. Palmer starts to stand up and John just smashes her in the face with the hammer!
…not to mention, she’s one of those Spartan’s with the bird helmets, which, is even more annoying.

HAHA EPIC!!!

I wear scout not bird! xD
Palmer is cool, why the hate?
sigh was this thread really needed ur a egghead
I don’t understand why everyone hates Palmer so much
I don’t want her dead. I hope she completes her mission and kills Halsey.
> I don’t want her dead. I hope she completes her mission and kills Halsey.
If 343 makes that happen then they’re idiots! Killing off one of the main and well known characters within the Halo universe, in the first game we see her as part of the story, (In Spartan Ops and Reach only had her towards the end) only to be killed off by some downgraded version of her creation…
Yeah that sounds fantastic…
> I don’t understand why everyone hates Palmer so much
'Cos she’s an arrogant, black/white world vision jerk who’s been horrible to the person who pretty much created the saviour of mankind?
I’m just waiting for Chief to show up in an Ops cinematic. One Spartan II trumps a large number of Spartan IVs, any day. Besides, Halsey is not only an important person to him but also someone who might help him get Cortana back. I doubt he’d be very happy to know everything that’s gone down in his absence =P
> I don’t want her dead. I hope she completes her mission and kills Halsey.
Halsey is actually me and my wife’s favorite character in the entire Halo story. In the books, she felt bad about what they were doing the entire time. She was only doing ONI’s bidding. Being a civilian, they basically just dumped the blame on her lap. The only fault she has, is she doesn’t bother voicing to others what she is doing and why, she just does so without anyone’s knowledge or consent and -Yoink!- them off or giving them the wrong idea. There’s no reason to want her dead, in fact, that’s one of the reasons why I hate Sara Palmer. She doesn’t see the asset knowledge can be. She just wants to jump the gun and take actions. That and her child-like temper tantrums are irritating as f***
Please cliff. Fall off cliff. Hyenas. Hyenas waiting at bottom of cliff. Hyenas eat Palmer. Cartoon Spartan sing in joy as valley returns to lush greens and happiness. Cue ending song and dance number. Profit

I’m kinda hoping it unfolds this way. I’d like to see a cinematic cameo with S117 coming into the room just as Palmer is about to commence with the kill order on Halsey… S117 handily drops 3 or 4 IV’s en route to Halsey, then effortlessly puts a bullet in Palmer’s stupid unprotected head with his M6D.
I can deal with Palmer, it’s Halsey that I want to punch in the face. I really can’t overstate my intense dislike for Halsey.
She is just doing her job as a commander on the ship she pretty much wants the job done simple as that.
> 'Cos she’s an arrogant
10 year UNSC Marine vet with the rank of Commander. Comes with the territory.
> black/white world vision jerk
In a combat zone everything is black and white. Hostiles and allies, the living and the dead. It’s not her job to consider anything else or ponder philosophy or science, it’s her job to fight and kill. Spartans are living weapons.
Reminiscent of Dawn of War 2’s Sergeant Avitus…
Don’t fool yourselves. War is all we are! Killing is all we are good for! The rest is delusion.
We are weapons. There is the Emperor, and there is war. Nothing more.
We are the Emperor’s angels of death, not his angels of mercy.
I rather like it in a way, a battle for supremacy against many foes is a battle of the best kind. There are few considerations, only those concerning where to place your next shot. It is war in its purest form.
> who’s been horrible to the person who pretty much created the saviour of mankind?
Who as far as anyone is concerned is still regarded as a war criminal by the majority of the UNSC without access to the highly classified S-II files.
The results still don’t excuse her past either.

Unless it’s Crimson.

Disobeying a Captain who was clearly unfit for command is one thing, but to go against a standing order from ONI’s director? Someone in a position with the power to make just about anyone disappear?
I wonder how many other people weren’t told that the Chief was alive…maybe for a sinister reason…?

Actually, no.
SPARTAN II and III’s were rolled into the SPARTAN IV program. Heck, members of various other Fireteams could by all rights be ex’ SPARTAN II’s. Training was different (although, Onyx SIII’s probably had the best training of all the SPARTANS)
There isn’t a large performance disparity between them, and there just isn’t as much of a difference to make a big deal in the command structure.
That being said, John 117 is a different animal, primarily because he’s been altered by the Librarian. The fact that he’s almost 12 feet tall in the ending cinematic is hilarious though. Someone messed up his scaling a bit, since the SIV’s are already 6-7 feet themselves. (Palmer was almost the same height as John in an earlier cutscene, and she towers over Lasky).

That’s not true at all, Spartan II’s and III’s can smash an elites skull in one punch, Thorn could’t do that, IV’s are nothing to II’s and III’s

I think the scaling was the most accurate in the end. John is 7 ft 5. Everyone in the game is about his damn size, even Lasky…especially, going back to earlier Halo games…he shouldn’t be as short as he is in the in-game cutscenes. The scene in the beginning, when they’re dropping his arm and testing the suit, is an accurate depiction. The average 5 ft 9 person is going to come up to his chest. He’s too short in Forward Unto Dawn as well. They should have maybe faked his size quite a bit, like they did in Lord of The Rings quite a bit. Elite’s were also too short in Forward.
