Sarah Palmer and Affirmative Action

After a solid amount of time with Spartan Ops by now, I think we have all suspected that Sarah Palmer’s being named Commander has to be the result of some sort of affirmative action program the UNSC has in place. There is just no way such an idiot as herself could have landed a high ranking title. Her quips are some the stupidest comments I’ve ever heard on the battlefield (with the exception of her telling Spartan Miller aka Spartan Obvious to shut up every once in a while). She also just isn’t that bright in the head, especially when it comes to battle strategy.

Prime example: Episode 1 Chapter 4
Here are some quotes that illustrate her incompetence.

While sending in Spartans to investigate a forerunner structure on a planet filled with prometheans she says “Looks like you have the place to yourselves”. Then, ten seconds later when enemies show up, she doesn’t recognize how stupid she was to say there weren’t any. But instead, as if she’s a psychic and didn’t say something limited just moments ago, she says “That’s why I didn’t let those eggheads in here.”

After you kill the initial wave of only a few crawlers she then says in her most stern voice “This was a recon mission only, I want you out of there.” 7 billion waves of enemies later she then orders “Finish up the remaining hostiles. That place isn’t safe for eggheads yet”, as if it was clear out mission in the first place.

That is just one example of the “genius” of Sarah Palmer. I guess after the Covenant War the UNSC felt they were able to sacrifice quality for political correctness. Tell that to Team Crimson…

I highly doubt sexism (feminism) would continue for 500 years, given how people are realizing now.

Then again, she could gotten her position because according to fanboys here she is quite “hot”.

Affirmative Action 500 years later, wouldn’t be surprised.

Even if “Racism” is fading people still draw distinctions. It’s silly really.

Ask yourself how many times you refer to a black person as a “black man” instead of just a “man”.

I think my favorite example is: Episode 3 Mission 4: Shootout in Valhalla.

Remember how you get mantises? How about instead of giving Team Crimson mantises, how about those pelicans instead extract Crimson? That would be a much better idea.

What an egghead Palmer is.

Good call OP, never thought of that. I did always wonder how the F Palmer got into her position…

>Infinity destroys a cruiser in one episode.

Thats because after retrieving the artifact its starts messing with the ships systems. The ship is not under full power and its mentioned the device is “talking” to the ships systems.

As a commanding officer, Lasky knows it would be foolhardy to risk the ship in any kind of engagement at that point. Critical systems cant be trusted to work, so any ship to ship battle would be a gamble no ships captain would want to make.

As for the pelican section mentioned, sure it seems obvious to us we should have had a pick up. But we are not told were those pelicans are actualy going. They might be full with troops and transporting the mantis as a straight drop unit with the pelicans on a secondary objective for assault/defence. Conjecture on my part, but plausable.

Palmer is somewhat attractive. Then she opens her mouth.

I refer to the “black man” in Black Ops 2 as, “That annoying admiral who I wish never spoke”.

I don’t know if you are agreeing with me, but I’m just gonna say that in E3C4 it wasn’t Crimson that destroyed that cruiser, it was probably infinity. I don’t know why Palmer would waste resources and risk losing 4 spartans. What a moron she is.

I also love how she shows off her brain power by kicking a forerunner artifact that just shut down the UNSC’s biggest ship. Great example of women’s intuition I guess she thought

What would you have done? Let it take down the ship?

Would you think that if any other male character had kicked it instead? That seems like something Johnson, if her were alive, would do.

Palmer is the result of Ronnie Boss’ and Kiki Wolfkill’s influence in 343i. (They’re the two top dogs, and they’re female.)

People hating on Commander Shepard… Really?..Really?

> People hating on Commander Shepard… Really?..Really?

DIFFERENCE: Commander Shepard was written serviceably.

Commander Palmer is written terribly.
