Sarah, Miranda, Tomas, Avery

Has anyone else noticed how Sarah Palmer Took over Miranda Keyes Role and How Tomas Lasky is Filling Avery Johnson shoes? Okay I like Lasky a lot but it just seems that he’s filling some shoes he can’t quite fill but on the other hand keyes and palmer are equals both bad -Yoink- but equal in there own way… The purpose of this post, lasky could be more side by side with chief on missions like a side kick kind of like Johnson was in a way in the 1st three halos… Although the only time Johnson was really good at killing anything was when you would betray marines in campaign then he would kill you with one shot to the head cause Johnson has been playing to much swat in the war games lol.

If anything, Lasky took over the role of Miranda (ship captain who generally supports Master Chief’s judgement), while Palmer took over the role of Johnson (skilled soldier who likes to make jokes).

By the way, it’s spelled “Thomas”.

Got the this feeling in 2012 itself.
Also halojunky does the better job in analyzing it correctly.
But I feel they should be their own characters and personalities rather than filling someone else’s shoes.

Couldn’t agree more. Although Lasky and Palmer can be considered to be filling up other people’s shoes, they’re still their own unique individuals.

It was the other way around, except in this case 343i was trying to force a poorly crafted, generic, “strong”, female character on us.

Ha, funny how even a vague mention of Palmer brings out the hate.

It’s kinda weird, because Lasky’s role is more similar to Miranda in ways such as how he doesn’t get into combat too much, while Palmer is like Johnson as she is a high ranked Spartan who participates in the front line.

Honestly, that’s how I’ve always seen Johnson, minus the ‘female’ part.

Lasky partially filled Miranda’s shoes… He didn’t display her intelligence (which is ironically low despite being the daughter of the smartest human mind and one of the best military strategists ever)

Palmer would be a better character if she didn’t try to be a new Johnson. Escalation Palmer = Good Palmer.

How is Miranda’s intelligence low?

Probably because she thought that flying a Pelican into a room full enemies and not even bothering to use the air crafts many weapons to kill a single one of them and then going as far to stand aside while a gun was pointed at the head of the universe was a remotely good idea.

Is it really a good idea to chase an ASSAULT CARRIER with a lightly armed Frigate?

Maybe the Pelican weapons were damaged, out of ammo, or she didn’t want to risk hitting Johnson.

And with Earth on the line, a few brazen actions are to be expected. She had to find out where that Carrier, who carried a significant Covenant leader, was going. And I thought vessels that followed a ship’s slipspace trail were undetectable until after the journey (I may be wrong).
