I read some novels and the official website information, but now I’m a little unsure, some of the information
says they need San’Shyuum and Huragok toprovide technical support for them. But the official website also says
They will soon be able to do it themselves without San’Shyuum’s help.Design new vehicles and aircraft and mass-produced
I’m a bit confused whether they need Huragok and San’Shyuum or not?
I think it’s more so to do with the imperial dictatorship of the Covenant hierarchy, rather than the Sangheili being technologically inept.
The Prophets arrived at Sangheilios already using Forerunner tech, and we know the Elites put up a decent fight for a century or more, so they themselves must have had some decent level of technological understanding.
But the ‘Covenant’ dictated what was what, what they could make, what they couldn’t, how things should look, etc.
Now without them to control their technological advancements, the Elites are free to research and develop what they like.
As an example: Imagine you own a bakery and make lots of cakes of all different types. Then a Corporate Franchise takes you over, and they allow you to decorate you cakes in lots of ways, but all the cakes must be chocolate, and you have to use their packet cake mix. Business is good, and you open up a couple extra stores in town as part of the Franchise.
But then the Franchise goes bust, but you keep your stores. Now you can go back to working for yourself, and make all the different cakes you want, while bringing all the decorating skills you learnt from the Franchise.
I know that not exactly how business works, but another could be Bungie getting control of themselves from Activision, and being able to do whatever they want with Destiny.
