Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

I would love to be able to have the shield, katana or fire axe, that’s for sure.

> The Sword and Board isn’t a UNSC item, so Elites should definitely be able to wear it too, assuming 343 want to have different accessories for Spartans and Elites. Naturally, I would prefer it that way, BUT I am not at all opposed to a shared accessories system. I just think it would be a little odd for Elites to have, say, the UNSC’s Ammo Pack when they probably wouldn’t use the weapons that it contains ammo for, you know?

I mean, the machete is human, but that’s beside the point, I agree that the elites should have access to the back accessories, or at least get their own set, if they got shared, they could just make covvie Demo, Ammo, Tac, and Comm packs to replace the ODST stuff.

Oh, oops…I forgot that the entire thing apart from the skull looks to be human made. Haha. We will just have to let that one slide. I suppose I wouldn’t mind much if they did share the accessories, as long as a few Covenant/Alien items are made for the Elites, which could perhaps be used by Spartans too.

Literally just saw news about the new elite armors coming to mcc and some of my faith in 343 has been restored, still hoping to get them in infinite but the new H3 armors look so good I’m hyped again for Halo content!

Does anyone else think classic Halo 2 Elites are the best? I personally think they’re the best out of any iteration of Elites yet. I like they’re design and their dialog, they also are good in a fight.

I saw a video where someone upscaled the Halo 2 Elites and it looked awesome.

I always thought the original emblem had the Shield of a Hunter, with only the Machete actually being human made. :man_shrugging:

My favorite are still the Combat Evolved Elites, being mostly the same as the Halo 2 elites, but the thing I like most about them is that their mandible plates lock together into a mask.

Agreed. But I like the h2a style too imo. If they upscale then feet and changed the helmet to be more pointed at the front rather than a weird round thing then I think they would be perfect, actually similar to a halo wars 2 image where 2 elites are standing in front of a banished locust; they’re the halo 2a style but their helmets and shoulder pauldrons are restyled to look more like halo 3 and I think that’s absolutely great. I really fw the infinite elites too and I hope we get to play as them in the future.

edit: what if they added infinite elite armor into reach some day, and vice versa if they ever add elites to infinite?

as long as we still get the swords of sanghelios i will be happy

CE has the best Elites.

Oh yeah. I miss how simple the original Elite Ranking system was. Blue meant Minor, red meant Major, black meant Spec Ops, and Gold meant Zealot / Field Master.

If you read the Flood by William C. Dietz, the gold Elites were referred to as Field Masters. I always preferred Field Master over Zealot because it just sounds so much more interesting.

Combat Evolved definitely has the best Elites! Just give them Halo 2’s voices and English dialogue and it’ll be even better! And I also loved the charming simplicity of just having differently coloured enemies in the first two games. I actually wouldn’t mind if they returned to that system with a few special cases like Halo 2’s Honour Guards and Councilors.

Do you mean Halo: The Flood? I distinctly remember that it was that book which was written by William C. Dietz. I guess since in game we couldn’t really know the names of the enemy ranks (it might be mentioned in the manual), the book decided to use a different rank for gold Elites. Then the rank was later confirmed as Zealot in Halo 2.

I’m sure we talked about it already, but since we’re getting new elite armor for halo 3, I have some ideas for under suits that I hope they’ll add at some point if not season 7.

Even tho we couldn’t choose under suits in the flight, we basically have the old “gen 1” under suit with the og armor and the new “gen 2” with the new armor. However I’d like them to add others like the arbiter armor under-suit and a sleeveless variant like the storm covenant use.
The sleeveless variant could be called “storm” or
”remnant”. The description could be serious like “after the downfall of the covenant, many remnant factions lacked the resources to even field proper under suits” or funny and witty like “not everyone can have nice things” or something like that.

The arbiter under suit is pretty self explanatory, and the description could be like “a title as sacred and ancient as the under suit that binds together the armor ” or something along those lines.

Oh, yes I did mean The Flood. Sorry about that. I’ll go and edit that.

Talking of undersuits, I’d like an undersuit with sleeves but bare hands.

Isn’t it strange that we now have the ability to customize your Spartan’s Exo-Suit and yet in Halo 5, each of the 4 Spartans of Fireteam Osiris had a unique Exo-Suit whereas the multiplayer Spartan-IVs and the characters of Blue Team had the standard MJOLNIR Gen-II undersuits? Like, we couldn’t choose our undresuit in Halo 5 Guardians despite having 5 clear options already made up, but in Halo 3 MCC we now have the option of undersuits?

Strange.

Elites in Combat Evolved have a specific armor if they are stealth, spec ops or zealot.

They have different shades in Halo 2 instead except for stealth Elites who are brown or grey.

I never understood why they changed Zealots so much in Halo 2, except the Flood and melee fighters there is no enemy in other games with a ‘rush on sight’ behavior as the usual and a specific firing pattern (they are the only ones to overheat) . They are also weaker but they are still defeated by one Plasma Grenade in CE.

Generals in Reach are clearly a nod to them by appearing at key locations a couple of time.

Generals were cool, but they looked too much like Honor Guards. The Keepward armor looks sick though.

Yea definitely using it when the update comes out.
