In 4 and 5 the armor seems completely spotless to me. It’s also why I like Halo Reach graphics because everything is worn down. It’s not the high end fancy stuff that ONI has, the military makes do with what they have.

I prefer Reach armor too (specially my beloved commando), but the thing I liked ab halo 4 armor is the fact that you can change everything to make your own style of character, bulky and angular or sleek and slim. Even though we kinda got this in the h2a update a while back, I really wish elites would get this treatment in the future as well. Want a thiccboi? Equip the more bulky and rugged storm legs. Or equip the combat harness for a more sleek and elegant look. Also the ability for us to asymmetrically mix and match.

As for the freaky 343 helmets, yea I’m pretty sure that helmets like pioneer or wetwork have a normal visor HUD on the inside, they just let you customize the sensor emitters on the outside with your chosen visor colors. I actually think that a majority of halo 4 helmets weren’t that bad, I just wish they’d mixed in some rugged Reach style pieces as well. Also the overly “F U N C T I O N A L” look with the armor pieces being too gappy wasn’t it.

Well you need to remember Reach was from what I remember during the war so it makes sense they don’t have new armor. But in 4 at least you could argue it’s all shiny because it’s new. No real wars going on other than a firefight here and there.

I liked in Halo 1 where you literally take down a small army of Covenant in one mission. It shows how experienced and awesome Chief is, unlike Halo 5.

When talking about graphics, it’s the same reason I prefer Titanfall 1s graphics over Titanfall 2s. Titanfall 1s graphics really made me feel like I was in a war zone, Titanfall 2 made it look, different. It wasn’t all worn and battle torn like Titanfall 1, it was very new and clean like it just got done being built.

Halo Reach was too worn out to me, I preffer the original trilogy’s way of doing it, most things show signs of use, but still is in a decent shape, as for 4 and 5 things looking factory new, I feel it’s because most of it actually is.

Like, if I could try to compare, 4 and 5, the new XBox just came out, you put it out of it’s box and start using it, CE, 2 and 3, the next one came out, the previous one saw good use, it’s not as shiny anymore, but you kept it in good shape, Reach, it’s your original XBox, you where a child, you look as it, the disk tray is bent, the controller somehow have bite marks on it and one of the sticks have the top removed, you really did not take good care of it back then, miracle it still works.

That’s true. That’s why I think they should add a mix of some shiny new stuff mixed with the bulky worm out armors that they’re going for in infinite. Same goes for elites, it would be good if they could mix the classic shiny and sleek combat harnesses with some maybe worn out banished inspired aesthetics or ancient armors.

You can have your preference. But I’m just saying when your not in a war making new -Yoink- it’s not going to come out worn.

Not what would of been cool if the art style from 4 to 5 to 6 go more old and worn over time.

Maybe, but I doubt it. If Season 7 is an H2A Season with no H2A Elite content, I’d be fine with it. I like my H2A Elite the way it is

But why? They should add all of the storm variants if it’s a 2a season even if some of them like commander look weird. Gives us more options.

Yeah they should. But I like my H2A Elite the way it is. It would be nice if they added some new H2A Elite armor

An H2A season with no elite stuff would be a pretty clear message from 343 gotta say.

Ok I’m gonna rephrase what I said. I’d be disappointed if an H2A Season happens and there’s no Elite stuff, but it wouldn’t affect me as much as H3 not getting any Elite stuff since I like my H2A Elite the way it is

True I’d want elite armor for halo 3 more since they’ve been getting no love, but if there’s a 2a season then we’d better be getting something elite since it would probably be easier anyway since it uses the halo 4 engine and a lot of halo 4 content is still in the files.

This is what astounds me the most with 343 and Infinite. We fought against the Axis in World War II and won, we had the technology to go to the Moon in the 1960s, we developed covid-19 vaccines in record-breaking time in 2020, had playable Elites in Halo 2/3/Reach (each released in 2004, 2007, and 2010 respectively), yet a modern-day video game studio that makes literally millions of dollars per year blatantly refuses to add playable Elites to Infinite. There is simply no excuse at all whatsoever. They can do it, but they simply won’t out of pure negligence and laziness.

I simply do not understand. I just don’t get it.

Some interesting, if somewhat extreme comparisons for certain, but yeah. It doesn’t make sense that Elites can’t be added. Heck, I can play on Garry’s Mod as anything from an Sangheili to a San’Shyuum Prelate to (Probably) an Urs--Yoink!- dragon, each with proper animations. Alright they won’t be perfect with all the fingers gripping something like an energy sword perfectly, but the fact that I’m able to even do that on a game where most of these things are added by people doing it out of passion or for a small payment is really proving if you ask me. Mass Effect 3 let you play as almost everything in the game in 2012, all we ask is for one other option from a studio with several millions and some of the most cutting edge technology in the game behind them. Of course, I’d like every option under the sun, but I’d be more than satisfied if I just had one. I’m sick of playing as a human. As I’ve said before, I play as one in real life, and honestly, it sucks. In any multiplayer game where aliens are present, and more importantly are treated properly and not just as the one-dimensional bad guy, I think we should almost expect the ability to play as them. This is different in games where this isn’t the case, but for crying out loud, this should be an option in Halo. Its wack that it isn’t.

There is simply no excuse at all whatsoever. They can do it, but they simply won’t out of pure negligence and laziness.

Heck, I can play on Garry’s Mod as anything from an Sangheili to a San’Shyuum Prelate to (Probably) an Urs--Yoink!- dragon, each with proper animations. Agreed.

It’s bc 343 wants to make their spartopia for their silly power rangers. It funny bc back in the bungie games, sure I’d see ally elites and say nice, but seeing another Spartan was a sight to be seen. For example like the dead ones on lone wolf. You’d feel bad and imagine their valiant fight to the death. Now it’s like ooo another Spartan who tf cares, but seeing allied elites is something bc we barely see them anymore and the whole idea of arbiter and his faction is actually interesting.

In Gmod I play as a kig yar actually, there are my little pony models, with their own animations, they are fully fonctional, I’m prety sure a pony requires a lot more creativity with the animation work than a sangheili that in comparison remains a lot more humanoid.

There is no excuse. That’s what I’ve been saying, the 343 Sandbox Director said his team COULD do everything, but they CAN’T do everything. I understand that, all of them are under a lot of stress. I’ve never made a game, but I do know it’s extremely difficult.

I don’t expect Elites to be there at launch, but if Halo Infinite is going to have a lot of updates along the line, (it will) there is a chance we could get them back once all the other priorities are done. Playable Elites are not a priority to 343, so their going to work more on the stuff they deem as priorities. That is why I say they will be in post launch, once all the bugs are fixed, because there will most definitely be bugs.

If 343 does this and adds playable Elites back out of feedback from us and other fans, they will have earned my trust back, but as of right now, they still have a lot to redeem themselves on.
