To all those idiots saying that losingvelites isn’t a shale because nobody pkays them, 80% of my games have always had at least one other elite in it, so yes, less elite players, but they exist, if 1 out of 4 players on a server is an elite 4 times out of 5, it means that 20% of the comunity is an elite player, considering that Halo has hundreds of thousands of players, there are tens of thousands of elites, that to me, is a number that sais existing, you also have to remember that a decent portion of spartan players, who never played elites, want playable elites, because even if they preffer being a spartan, seeing an elite in their lobies makes them happy, my best friend is one of them, he misses having random elites when he plays Halo 5, so there are even more people than elite players that are wanting playable elites. Today and yesterday, I had never seen as many elites yet, lobies now have at least 2 or 3 elites in them, if you are a spartan player who support playable elites who enjoys Halo 2 Classic, Halo 2 Anniversary and Halo 3 multiplayer, do like these guys, temporarilly switch to an elite to boost the stats of elite players on 343’s servers database until they see all of us elite players and supporters being more numerous than they think.

If the multiplayer for Infinite is free, then I’ll play it, but I’ll go ahead and just watch walkthrough videos for the campaign. Not supporting people that don’t support us.

Dude most players on MCC just use default

Reach gave us some cool examples on how to add Elites just give them there own game types and we can mix them in custom games with Spartans of course someone argues that the elites we encounter infinite just solved the height issue.

343 doesn’t care what most the big fans think on Youtube nor do they care about the Fans. They will when people don’t buy the game and wait for it to be Free on Xbox Live Gold, etc. I will simply do that and enjoy other FPS Games.
Like “Atomic Heart” which looks like a futuristic Half Life type game.
“Scorn” also looks interesting as does another game which not many know about called “ILL” the game makes the flood look dumb and is being done by a small indie studio. I rather go throw my money and support these new studios which are listening to people like me. Gives 343 the middle finger. This is what happens when you piss off Game Developers! They come back to HAUNT YOU!!!
Plus many other new game franchises to enjoy.

Default as in Spartans? Nah. Tbh, almost every match I’m in that has Elites available, I see both sides with at least one Elite player. Surprised you haven’t gotten that same experience tbh.

This is heartbreaking. All this time hoping against hope that we can finally have a new game where we can play as Elites again, just to have our hopes dashed yet again. Are we really to believe that the reason 343 gave for excluding playable Elites is even remotely believable?

“It is a MasterChief story.” Right. What about Halo 3? That was definitely a MasterChief story, and yet Elites are playable there. Even better, you can actually play as Elites and fight alongside the Chief in campaign!

Then there is Halo Reach. While not a MasterChief story, it is absolutely a Spartan story, a very important one, too. Despite that, Elites are once again playable and have several more armour sets than they did in Halo 3!
Tell me again how “it’s a MasterChief/Spartan story” is a valid reason for not having playable Elites.

Also, anyone who thinks having Elites playable means less customisation for Spartans, I highly doubt that. Using Halo Reach again as proof, despite the fact that Elites are playable, Bungie still significantly expanded Spartan customisation, not only adding tons of new helmets, shoulderpads and chest pieces but also adding in customisation for the arm (wrist), leg (utility) and even allowing different knee pads and visor colours.

Honestly, I don’t think those of us that want to play as Elites are even asking for much. I think by this point, most of us would be happy just to be able to finally play as them again, at least as they were in Reach, or even Halo 3…that is how bad it has become. And honestly, is that really too much to ask?

How absurd is it that people have been asking this long for the return of a feature that was a staple of Bungie games, something that was to become a natural and expected feature in all their games after the first one that added them (not counting ODST for obvious reasons)?
Only for 343 to come out after all this time and say nope, we’re not doing it. What is worse is that they don’t even give us a valid reason for that. Of course, they wouldn’t be able to anyway. Bungie made it work, so why can’t 343?

In the words of one of Halo’s most awesome Elites: “This is unprecedented. Unacceptable.”

That’s because the default is the only one in Halo 3 that shows the mandibles. Plus the Halo 3 style combat helmet looks SICK!

No I’m talking like default armor, They’re a Spartan, Tag is 117, default emblem. I still see a lot of those around.

But I think every elite armor looks sick

I’ve seen elites with the default emblem, UNSC clan tag and 117 tag, they rock Chief green elite minors, the only customisation they did is make a cool spartan in Halo Reach, go to Halo 3 prefered species to swap it to elite, never touch it again.

Oh, yeah I notice that a lot too. The Mark 6 is not a bad looking helmet though, especially in Reach. Some people just don’t care about custimazation, I like to change my armor around from time to time, but my friend changes it almost from match to match. I guess it just depends on the person.

I also agree about all elite armor looking cool. Heck, even the halo 4 elite armor looks really good in my opinion, especially the warrior helmet, what I would do to ware that thing into battle.

I was going to do the same with Halo. So unless the MP is so amazing I prob won’t be spending anymore money on Halo Anymore.

Yeah I feel like supporting a developer that claims to listen to their community but doesn’t is kinda dumb. I won’t be giving 343 anymore of my money. Its a shame too, I was excited for infinite and even planned to buy whatever deluxe version of the game that came out.

Another cool feature that we’re missing out on is the potential of female elite models - like Tul 'Juran who fought the Prelate along with Rtas 'Vadum. The Swords of Sanghelios recruit females into their ranks now - see that would’ve been a really cool canon feature if we’re going to stick with the canon multiplayer stuff.

Honestly so much potential, I really hope they address this in their next Inside Infinite post.

I wonder if any developers in the 343 team even see this thread, or keep up with it. If so, hi. Bring them back!

There is clearly a large amount of support for playable elites in non-competitive multiplayer or just custom games and specific game modes. Halo should be fun for both Competitive and non-competitive players looking for variety and unique gameplay.

All 343 would need to say is “We will plan to release playable Elites at some point post-launch” and I’d be sold. I don’t need to know when, or why, or how; just knowing that it is really confirmed or really denied would be great. Especially with a topic as thoroughly discussed as this.

If it’s a hard no, mod support when?

I would love to hear what a female sangheili sounds like.
