343 confirmed Halo Infinite won’t have playable Elites. Despite this being the most requested feature as evidenced by this thread, the largest one on this entire website!

It’s been a long time coming. I and many others feared that the competitive community was going to take the blame for this one.
I hold no ire to comp players, they have every right to enjoy the game as they’d like. I do however dislike that 343 ignored 10 years of our struggle to put them on the highest pedestal possible.
At the end of the day, it’s all about money. The minority will be ignored so long as the majority feeds the ever climbing capital. I suppose Money will always triumph over fun since that pays the bills.
We kinda all knew this was coming, the real kicker will be if we find out they added playable brutes or something.

This is Halo INFINITE - the Halo game everyone has been dreaming of since CE. There is so much potential lost with the loss of playable elites and quite frankly 343 wanting it as a “Spartan story” is utter bull.

Who did we play as in Halo 2? Master Chief. (introduction of Arbiter was necessary for telling the Great Schism part of the story)

Who did we play as in Halo 4? Master Chief.
Who did we play as in Halo 5? Barely Master Chief.

The potential for Halo Infinite is meant to be INFINITE - Bungie had no problems making elites playable in a way smaller time frame of development with their games. Halo Infinite has had SIX (6!) years of development to nip this in the bud. You can’t ignore this thread on the forums, it’s the biggest one - playable elites have been requested for over ten years now. Hell, even for Halo 3 on the MCC, there is no love being given to the elites - we are still stuck with the same armours and customisation we’ve had since 2007, whilst the Spartans are getting all this cool new gear, new customisation options and love.
There are going to be people who say “go back to halo 3 then noob” but how is that fair? Why does everyone else get a new shiny 2021 Halo game with current gen graphics whilst the rest of us are stuck in 2007 for a feature that should have always been there? Halo 3 is still an amazing game, but the elite fanbase wants a new experience, just very much like how every other Halo fan wants a new experience. Are we not entitled to that? Do not get me wrong, the Spartans look amazing thus far in Halo Infinite, but just think of the potential of Elite customisation? Halo is a sandbox FPS, removing playable elites takes away from the sandbox.
Edit: Another point to add, it is stated in the Q&A that they want to tell Master Chief’s story and a Spartan story and how Spartan’s battle it out in multiplayer. Are we still sticking to this canon multiplayer crap? When have Spartans ever needed to fight each other in the first place? I understand that it’s a training simulation blah blah blah - but if you want to make this canon, surely fighting elites (who are most likely to appear in opposing factions) would make more sense.
The Elites are the main reason as to why I love Halo so much - this news is such a disappointment.

Guys they said never say never. Elites could possibly be added post-launch in an Arbiter DLC or something. 10 year game. There is still hope for a post-launch addition of Playable Elites

That’s the hope, but its doubtful at this point. The fact they had the audacity to give us an -Yoink- pull answer as to why they did not include playable Elites, tells me, they really don’t care, they can’t be this stupid to not realize they have been giving us a "Spartan’’ only story for the past 10 years. So I have no faith, hell this is even evident in the new updates to Halo 3 in the MCC, so far we have only gotten new armors for the Spartans, from Halo Online, but Halo Online had Elites, which had their own armor sets, yet have we seen any of them in the past 2 updates? No.

Halo Online Elite Armor was found in MCC’s files by dataminers
Even if they add elites later on as a “purchasable” DLC, I’m not sure if it’s worth getting. After seeing how far 343i is willing to go for the sake of monetizing and milking their fans. As if the coating system failure was bad enough.
I have a gut feeling the reason for no playable elites is because it would mess with monetization. If spartan armor is going to play a role in Infinite’s income stream why would they want to enable players to not care about spartan armor at all
Yeah it’s not safe from doing like Reach (it’s a weak excuse for that game anyway, can’t be worse I think) .

They can just have to separate threads lmfao. All they have to do is sticky the next elite thread and call it the master thread for inf instead of sending us back to halo 5 fourms(where no one is going to look for it in the first place)
The reason Bungie took elites away from us was because people complained about the hitboxes and models being different so the gameplay wasn’t fair. The thing that 343 needs to do is learn from Bungie’s mistakes. The answer is not to take away elites, it is to tamper with them to make it fair.
For example, raise the elites head a little higher and take away the hump on the back of their armor, then you can headshot elites as easily as you can headshot spartans, make the hitboxes the same, and finally, SAY VERBALLY THAT YOU HAVE MADE THESE CHANGES!
There is no doubt in my mind the 343 know they can do this, they are just flat out refusing to add elites because for some paticular reason they like spartans better! This is not racist against elites, this is racist against the fans who play as them!
