Well, then you would be up against either really good players or really bad players. It should be a lot less strict then Ranked but not too loose or you will be like a pro vs a first timer… you picking up what I am putting down?

Here’s my take on the matter. There should be three Multiplayer Lobbies, they are Social, Competitive (Ranked), and Custom.
For Social there should still be a little bit of SBMM, but it shouldn’t be very strict to give respect for the people who just got home from a long day at work or school, and just want to hang out with their friends and relax.
Competitive should have strict SBMM. People in that lobby want to have a long battle between teams that are constantly taking, and losing the lead. They want a challenge. They want to boost their skill and win multiplayer games. The exact opposite of most Social players.
Custom should be the exact same as normal.
People argue that playable elites should only be in Social games and not Competitive games because they have different Multiplayer models, and bigger hitboxes. I do not agree with them having bigger hitboxes. It’s the same deal with bulky armor, playable elites dont change your hitbox.
I do agree however that they should be social exclusive because of their different models. It’s very hard to hit them in the back of the head, if not impossible. That is much better for swat, and that is why many people were angry with halo 3. But at the same time people are going to complain no matter what so 343s just going to have to pick it’s poison.

I couldn’t agree more, the best way to handle elites even if their hitboxes are the same as spartans is to keep them out of ranked, there will still be more than enough modes for elites to play in. I especially want to play warzone/firefight as an elite (on the same team as spartans ofc), the dynamic would be awesome imo.

They should do the same thing ODST did when it comes to the custimazation menu. In ODST it said Having a helmet will not make you see better. Having no helmet will not decrease survivability. It should be the same thing in Infinite, except for Spartans it should say Playing as a Spartan will not affect your skill. For elites it should say Playing as an elite will not affect your hitbox. Than people know for an absolute fact that the hitboxes are exactly the same. 343 if you are seeing this, it is your best bet if you are going to add playable elites back. You would be wise to do somewhat of my idea.

Yes it would! there are so many options.
EDIT: I REALLY hope 343i looks at this forum and implements some of our ideas to some extent. I REALLY want to play as a Sangheili again…

I think they should take armor from different halo games and put them all in the halo infinite. For instance, they have the Ranger helmet (from halo Reach), but there are two variants. Flight ( from halo 3) and the Ranger helmet from halo 2.
They could also have the Reach Spec Ops helmet as the standard variant, the halo 3 assault helmet as another variant, and finally have the Silent Shadow helmet as a secret, like the haunted helmet.
As for your idea for the lights, it would be better if it was just a visor color, like the Spartans.
If they are going to give elites the same measure of custimazation as the Spartans, I think this is their best bet.

I don’t want to have to pay for sangheili cosmetics, they are the ONLY cosmetics I care about.

It would be a real shame if you had to pay for all the good armors. I imagine if they do add playable elites, they will have some armors locked behind money, and some you can unlock with challenges or points.
Some Sangheili armor coatings would be money exclusive, while others you can buy with credits or game points. The same will probably go for helmets, visors, loadouts, ect.
Another point that I wanted to bring up is the fact that playable elites are more likely then ever right now. 343 is trying to make up for halo 5, so they are doing everything they can to bring the anger away from the fans. The population that wants elites back has grown rapidly ever since halo 4, that’s been almost ten years now!
And even the people who don’t generally play as elites want them back because it was a cool feature. I for one like to have more than one species to shoot at.
Also many people who would love to play as an elite don’t because they don’t want people to think they are bad at halo, so they stick with Spartans. I, for many years believed this lie that Spartan players are better.
I said before, and I’ll say it again. If you like elites, play as them. It doesn’t mean you are a bad player.

Bruh, I have ALWAYS played as a Sangheili and normally am top on the leaderboard till sbmm screws me over.

Well said brother, I for one will always play as Elites given the chance, I feel much more powerful as one, sure I suck at Halo 3 but I couldn’t care less. If it was Reach and Elites were integrated into it, ho ho ho, not to brag but I’d change a few mindsets on that.
Which brings me to another point. I hope they also integrate Elites into Reach matchmaking on MCC already, and bring back Invasion Slayer and Skirmish otherwise known as the best Reach game modes to ever exist. And why on Earth isn’t Versus on firefight matchmaking? It just makes sense for it to be.
