I’d love to have female Sangheili! I really wanna see what they look like canonically without being somewhat obscured like Tul ‘Jura was in Shadow of Intent’s art.
I’m basically trying to hold onto the idea that if they’re not here at launch, we will get playable elites somewhere down Halo Infinite’s 10 year line, but i really don’t wanna have to keep hoping and praying for this past the release date in November 2021. I want to have Playable Elites, but not silence this thread, as I think it could be very important in maintaining Elites and demanding that they are treat the same as Spartans in Infinite, so we never have to go through this Sangheili drought ever again.

Dude, Female Sangheili are literally exactly like the males except they are slimmer and shorter. That’s it. That is how they canonically look. so you would probably not be able to see the difference. you would just think that one is stronger than the other. their only real difference is their internal organs.

I just think it would be cool to have that since there is female spartans. it would be interesting. wouldn’t change much visually though.

I mean the female Elite Body is very different from the male body. The heads are smaller and almost resemble a human more. As in Halo Legends tho that could be ignored since Halo Legends isn’t cannon. Regardless, female elites would be different since elites are a form of Lizard. Aka what Sangheili stands for in Spanish. Female Lizards are often very different varying in side, shape and color. There would and should be no exceptions to elites since Halo generally follows the laws of Science in most cases. > . > I’m looking at you Bubble Shield. You Law defying object. oh I almost forgot they did have that one image from the books. I Guess that one would be cannon.
they are not described like that in Halo: Broken circe.

Halo Legends IS cannon. The only piece that isn’t is Odd One Out since there’s obviously no Humans who trained under Master Roshi on a different planet (satire).
Origins I and II is the Forerunner-Flood and Human-Covenant wars through Cortana’s perspective, or a bastardized version of it anyways. It is technically cannon, since Cortana could have definitely talked to herself on the matter in those 4 years.
The other stories are entirely original, and very much canon.
not the looks of the Female Sangheili shown in it. VERY WRONG.

Well then my point stands. Tho I thought Bungie said HL wasn’t cannon but might be my own misinformation

Hate saying it what appears in books doesn’t always appear the same in a game. There are so many designs shapes and sizes that can be used to carry gender. I mean look at the human race. We sometimes also have females that resemble males. It’s rare but it does happen. Why would Sangheili be any exception?

You’re absolutely right lol. Why don’t people just roleplay it? Their reptilian like nature means no -Yoink!- or anything like humans that would really seperate women. Plus, I think it’s kind of hot that the Sangheili are a Patriarchy >:)

Because they are an entirely different species and completely made up…
You know what I hate? When people use our biology and science and apply it to something completely out-world or fantasy. You make it sound like they should be thick or have -Yoink!-. Gross man

They’re reptiles, so human biology wouldn’t apply.
if there is a female option all it would likely do is make your character one inch thinner, or maybe only change the sound effects, which would be irrelevant if firefight voices come back anyways,…

I was talking more animal I was using humans as the example of biology in Halo since it’s still our universe. I mean if you want to go full reptilian female crocodiles are usually brighter in color size and skin patterns. It also wouldn’t hurt humanizing Sangheili considering Halo is fictional. In reality all it comes down to is how you design em. Many Artist already found a way to get the its female cross.
Personally I feel like making female Sangheili identical to males is really lazy. I would cite one perfect example of male and female alien warrior species being distinct from each other as the Turians in Mass Effect- they’re clearly more feminine, but aren’t hyper-sexualised for the sake of fulfilling fantasies of certain kinds of fans. Now I’ll be honest, I don’t really know what I want female Sangheili to look like, but I know that I want to see a clear distinction- it shows evidence of caring about attention to detail and making the Halo universe feel like something that’s complete. You may say that’s using human science to talk about science fiction, newsflash: that’s how science fiction is made. I just find it a lazy excuse to not show us female Sangheili in all their glory and treat them with as much respect as males by distinguishing them. It just makes sense to me to show clear differences- even if it is something minor like perhaps the curvature of the mandibles, or the way that their eyes and snout line up with each other.
If I had to give an example, I’d say that this: Dema-Portrait by Jadeitor on DeviantArt MINUS THE HAIR is my favourite representation of female Sangheili yet. Make of it what you will, and please don’t think I want to see Sangheili with hair.
Either way, my point still stands: Female Sangheili have been neglected and should be in the game alongside males. It would really suck to be reduced to a simple ‘oh but we can role play female Sangheili’ scenario. That’s like role playing Sangheili as a whole with Helioskrill armour on Halo 5. It may work for some and I respect it if you can do it honestly, but let’s be real, it’s a real downgrade on what we could have.

XD? Prove it buddy. Actually. You just contradicted yourself… lol I already said that. Also no it doesn’t. Tell me, what is the earliest point of existence that we know of in the Halo universe. Tell me if you’re so smart. Provide a link proving that. Also saying “The Halo Universe follows our laws of science.” doesn’t mean it pertains to EVERYTHING. That is a very large generalization…
We are talking about an entirely made up universe. Def. not something I would argue over with a random on the internet xD. You can make the claim “Bungie” said it themselves, regardless of that, there would be so much more to it than simply that XD. But hey, whatever you say man lol

How is it lazy? Make them slimmer and more girly like. That isn’t enough for you? You want them to have -Yoink!- too? I mean seriously? Their reptiles mate. They would look practically like Men but simply slimmer and serine as well as having a female like voice. I mean look what Kung Fu Panda did with their animal like characters. They kept it realistic. Which in my opinion looks better. Has nothing to do with being lazy dude.

Good sir, using biology, we can figure out that female and male Sangheili are very similar in appearance. It isn’t Lazy, It is using real world biology to determine what they would look like. and In Sangheili Culture, Female Sangheili don’t fight in wars, it just doesn’t happen, so that is why we never see them.
I never imagined me mentioning “Sangheili brothers and sisters” would result in quite the conversation regarding female elites.
