no prob…you have stated your opinion…thank you for that… now you may leave
For me, Elite Slayer felt more like “Halo” than default Reach. I always thought if the Spartans walked as fast and jumped like the Elites, it would have felt much better.
The only problem it had at the beginning was the crazy Plasma Grenade-Armor Lock Spam.
I think the biggest problem with Elites in Halo reach was the weapon selection and lack of playlists. Spartans generally had a better weapon selection, with elites not having a viable long range weapon (focus rifle isn’t exactly a match for the human sniper, for example). That and the AL spam before they reduced starting grenades to one… i miss my stickies… Also elites were only featured in a few game modes, and got jipped in the SvE modes for reasons listed above.

> 343i made a statement earlier saying that they have noticed the demands of elites to be recognized in Halo 4 MM. They said that they have come up with a solution that would please everyone. Here are 2 possibilities, and one of these is likely to become reality in some form,

> Possibility 1: Like halo3, halo4 MM will be divided into two sections: ranked and social. Elites will be allowed in A variation of social division of MM, a non competitive part of MM, leaving the Competitve or ranked MM for the spartans
>
> Possibility 2: Elites will be playable in a highly improved custom games section of halo 4 where elite players as well as everyone else, can rank up like in MM. This allows elite players to play as elites without having to be forced to play as a spartan.
>
> These are just ideas, and yes they have flaws, but one of these is likely to be used in halo 4. Post what you think about these below.
both can work for me.
> I am sorry I am just not a fan of the elites. I can’t stand elite slayer in Halo Reach. Elites in Halo 3 wasn’t terrible. If there is any reason I would like to see elites return would be strictly linked to people making machinima, other than that I wouldn’t care to have them back MM.
If you would have noticed, we’re talking about being able to play as Elites, not in Elite playlists that was horribly botched in Halo: Reach.

If I read this right:
-
We get one or two playlists we’re allowed to be Elites in. Everything else is locked/forced Spartan
-
Bot match? Custom game browser? Sounds like customs only, no permissions in MM.
Neither option is really acceptable, as that’s basically Reach.

Well at least they will be playable. if thats an idea.
Ive been dealing with this issue since Halo 2. In Halo 2 the Elites were about the same size and height as the Spartans but had messed up hit boxes giving the Spartans an Advantage. Because of that the Elites were not used by the majority and you were considered a noob for using one because they were easier to kill.
In Halo 3 the elites also had hit box issues but this time instead of being “easier” to kill they were harder to head shot making them “unfair” for some game types.
In Halo Reach Bungie decided that instead of trying to make them as equal as possible they were going to build both the Spartans and the Elites on there differences and widen the gap between equal. While this seemed like a good move it did take out a significant amount of fun for those who enjoyed using the Elite character model on a regular bases. For those who did not necessarily enjoy playing the same handful of invasion games over and over again and for those who did not enjoy elite slayer.
Currently as they are in Reach the Elites in my opinion are at a significant disadvantage. They are taller which means they are a much bigger target and most of the time seem to be more noticeable on the map. If you have ever played a competitive custom game that puts a spartan and elite team on equal footing with exact weapons and loadouts you will find that as I said the elites are a bigger target but they do not really affect core game play in such a drastic way as they did in Halo 3 and in Invasion.
If I could tell 343 to compromise. I would ask them for the sake of competitive multiplayer to match the Spartans and elites stats fully. Which would include shields, melee, speed and Health while keeping the elites slightly taller for the sake of those super cannon fans. I have never heard a player in Halo reach complain about not being able to head shot and elite and I think much like Halo 2 I and most of the Elite community would rather be at a slight disadvantage than completely lose or have to go to such a extreme reach like compromise again.
But in all honesty the odds of 343 even reading this thread don’t look too good.

An acceptable trade-off. I’ve always believed Elites and Spartans can be balanced quite evenly if effort was applied.

I wanna here this quote taht you herd as sonnas you can acess it.
WE REACHED 300 THANKS…
I wouldn´t mind having a slight disadvantage ala Halo 2. Never complained there and felt more challenging. Never complained about being a bigger target in Reach either in Invasion, even though I really enjoyed that they are faster and jump slightly higher.
Spartans feel too slow without sprint and can barely jump.
Nor would I. I just hope 343 hasn’t set everything in stone.
Yea it would suck if you cant play as elites in multilayer it would make invasion pointless i kinda liked invasion too this would really suck if they leave the elite out T_T
> Nor would I. I just hope 343 hasn’t set everything in stone.
if what franks aid was true abotu this solutiont o the elite playablility, it might make everything good.
Unless you had elevation, or your target was looking up, it was impossible to shoot an elite’s head from behind in Halo 2. They balanced them more in 3.
And the only reason that it’s easier to kill an elite from the front (pre-Reach) is because the head is more in line with their shoulders. So if you miss your headshot, you have a better chance of still hitting them somewhere.
Anyways, 343 should have totally put some elites in their ops missions. Admiral Hood demands that Parangosky allows 'Sraom, 'Taham and some nameless SpecWar Group sangheili to be a part of the Infinity strike teams. And the ship gets put on mission before open hostilities spring up again between humans and elites.
Bam.
After reading the Game Informer news about Halo 4 I just thought it wasn’t real, it can’t be real. No more elites in Multiplayer? A lot of classic Halo features removed and a lot of stuff that me and other Halo fans didn’t like? Too similar to COD! This is not the Halo we loved so much! I’m in disappoint, I can’t accept this, also elites look worse, they look like chickens with an uglier helmet and huge feet. I personally preferred Halo 2 and 3 elites. If 343 won’t change all the stuff they are going to introduce, Halo won’t be the same and putting a Multiplayer story and removing Elites from Multiplayer simply doesn’t make any sense. I left Reach expecially for the limits given to the Elites. Please 343, make Halo similar to the good old Halos, or we will all assist to the official death of Halo! I can’t accept this, really, Halo 3 is the game which made me play Multiplayer and I had so much fun with it, actually I still play it sometimes reminding the good old memories! Please 343, don’t disappoint us! Don’t ruin Halo!
Man I hope this is good news that Elites can be playable in Halo 4. I be one happy fan. I’m gonna keep reading info on Halo 4 for Elites to be in the game. Plus come on, gotta have them in I mean that Spec Ops armor is beast. I know alot of players who are Spec Ops Elite fans will wear them
I wonder what the Zealot armor will look like owo
@Alei lakanee
Man I guess that the Elite Spec Ops shown in the news is just an Elite of the campaign, according to Games Informer we can’t play as elites in multiplayer, but I still don’t understand if we can’t play as them only in competitives or only in the competitive matches of the Infinity Multiplayer (the new Multiplayer Mode, I heard that they will put other Modes called “classic”, similar to Halo 2 and 3). At least I hope we can use them in social matches but with mixed races, not like in Reach with only Elite Slayer or Invasion, because it would be awful.

As long as the Elites are playable Im okay, now the one thing im trying to figure out is, this “solution” they said they had to make everyone happy.
