I haven’t looked up the budget but my guess would be halo games tend to get around 100-200 million in budget and they make their money make and more.

Yeah budget definitely isn’t an issue for 343. Right now, 343 has a lot of time, and a lot of money. With that being said, making Elites become major within the franchise (like building upon the Arbiter and his Swords of Sanghelios and making it pivotal in the next installment) is possible. Like I said, they’ve got time, fortune, and major fan outcry in support of the return of Elites. Of course there’s the talk of bringing in the classic design along with the Elites, but that topic as a whole can be saved for another forum. But yeah, Halo 6 isn’t even really announced yet (well the official title at least), so when there’s an official release of the trailer for the game, we could very likely see our good old Elites. And yep, I remember the animation, it makes my heart warm :).

Oh, and for you spartan fans- remember the kill animation where the spartan throws himself on the elite bringing them both to the ground, and then stepping on the elites neck?

yo solo quiero que regresen los elites al estilo de los elites del pvp de halo dos me párese muy acertado con excepción de las 2 armaduras que en serio son muy ridículas pero la armadura estándar esta pro

That animation, I don’t remember.

I just came to think of something, has anyone here heard of ‘Halo 2 project cartogrophar’? Its basicly Halo 2 whit functioning multiplayer and 60fps, but what Im getting at is -you guessed it- playable elites! Something to enjoy whilst we struggle on for our precious elites in future Halo titles.

Not gonna lie, out of all the Halo games. Halo 5 was the one I played the least. They created so many armors and armor remakes with slightly different textures, that they rushed it and put no time and effort into it. Think of it this way with the amount of crap they added, they could have just as easily added Elites with the time they spent on all those armors and let’s be honest the armors weren’t even good. I’d say only 20% of the armors created were actually good, the rest were abominations. Anyway… My point is they could have easily spent time adding Elites instead of making all those horrible armors.

I really hope they add Elites as a playable species in Halo 6, I mean… the Arbiter and humans are working together again so it makes sense for the Elites to be training in the war games with the spartans, seeing as it’s all canon now.

Same here. The reasons why I haven’t played it as much as other Halo games has more to do with gameplay, but player customization is pretty lacking in Halo 5. You make a good point: making a ton of different armors when they could’ve use a fraction of that effort implementing Elites. Besides, most of the armor doesn’t really look like it fits in with Halo, is ugly, or both. When it comes to good customization, quality should always have priority over quantity. I’d rather have 12 good-looking helmets to choose from than 1,200 ridiculous-looking helmets, especially if some one them happen to perfectly fit a certain alien’s head.

They don’t really have a logical reason to not put in Elites, either. They would simply add more to the game without detracting from it. They could easily approach it the same way Reach did to satisfy the competitive fanbase and their concerns for balance issues. And, honestly, 343 making multiplayer ‘canon’ was a stupid idea in the first place.

Here’s my opinions on canon multiplayer:

  1. Teabagging, nuff said.
  2. Its limiting, they have to write anything silly off as “a glitch in the system”.
  3. Forge. Basicly most of the wierd stuff, like running around whit golf clubs. What? Is that a “glitch” too? Or ‘Jet pack wierdoes’, a game mode I and my pal did back in Reach, -and still play to this day- where we put the map in the sky in the forge canvas as sky islands and our loadputs all consisted of jetpacks.
  4. If its canon, where’s our elites?
  5. Infection? How do you even canon that?
  6. Odd-ball? Same there.
Im sure there’s more inexplainable game modes thsn I mentioned.

Agreed, it was probably something said but never actually done nor originally intended…at least that’s what I gathered from the “canon” multiplayer.

True, a lot of the armour were just minor tweaks of armours of armour being classed as new armour, it’s strange that 343i would continue to ignore one of the most requested features for playable Elites.

I think 343 is noticing how big the request has gotten. It’s like, splitscreen sized right now, so I think Elites have a great chance.

Maybe true but only time will tell. They’ve had 2 chances with 2 different games to add them, a lot of people have wanted the classic look to return and they didn’t in 2 different games so hopefully 3rd times a charm. Never understand why it was taken out and I’ve heard poor excuses for why some wanted it removed, after Reach…I was hoping for more playable races but instead we got less.

I like it how they said they’ll return splitscreen but still ignore the elite request. Which is almost just as big of a request.

They’ve had two games to prove they’re listening to the playable elite community and they haven’t implemented anything yet, and while two chances is more than enough for some, I’m willing to give one more chance before my trust is lost forever, even if they have them in Halo 7. 3 games of not listening to fans isn’t a good thing, and I know you might think that they are listening to other requests, and I’m not denying that, they are listening, but the fact that they are catering to such small things like new or classic weapons, new or classic maps and not to a request embodied in an over 800 page forum thread is just a little troubling!

Than again, they could’ve seen it in the time of Halo 4’s release, and didn’t have enough time to implement it into Halo 5, and are, as we speak, revamping and expanding the feature of playable elites into what we’ve dreamed it to be.

Than again, that’s extremely wishful thinking.
All in all, if they ain’t in Halo 6, I’m out, not out of Halo but I’ll be out of trust!
Thats just me though. I really want to accept 343, and this is there way to tie up one of the many loose ends they’ve left in fans.

To be honest, 343 lost about 99% of my trust. Like, I’m treating Halo 6 like Call of Duty. I have to see enough gameplay to decide whether or not it’s gonna be good enough, which is sad, because I’ve always been here for Halo since Halo CE. But, I’ve gotta give them props for announcing splitscreen. That’s greatly appreciated, and they’ve earned some of my trust back because of it. I really believe they’re seeing this huge request on Waypoint, because like Warthog said, this is over 800 pages long. There’s no way they aren’t seeing how major this is to fans. So I don’t know. They’ve got a lot of time, and I think it’ll be catered towards Elites eventually.

You gotta see enough game-play for anything to be approved as “Good”, my son, Halo 6 is no different now that 5 came along to absolutely obliterate my attitude when it came out and we invited a buddy of ours to get in the party and ask “Hey dude, so you’ve played Halo 5? Is it awesome?! Dude, tell me how how awesome it is” and to have him say it’s terrible!
A very disappointing storm started over the community, and this game will show whether it’s going to be over, and a chunk of that, embodied in what we customers call “Trust” is playable elites.
We won’t know until we get the game, but it’s so important, despite being so small that they bring them here, at least for me, you know?
We can’t go with games like this not giving what the fans want before they start adding new things. And you’re right, it is sad,
But the reason why it’s sad for me is that I have to hope all of this is in the game at launch!

Sorry to bring up trust in this thread, I just think its of the importance, or at least, a big part of the importance here.

I agree whit you. As much as I hope for the return of our elites. As much I believe that they will return… I can’t help but feel naive. Surely 837 pages ought to have cought 343’s attention, but they have been rather silent on the subject as far as Im concerned. After all, they confirmed that “black undersuits will return”! And thats all well and good -I for one am glad in fact- but the apeal for that was not nearly as big as playable elites correct? I guess I’ll believe it when I see it then, playable elites that is.

I believe they responded to the undersuits issue because it was so significantly small. Look at how big this thread is. Sure would be underwhelming if one of them came in like, “Oh, yeah. Elites are coming back, enjoy”. That would be great, but so very underwhelming. Compare that to seeing them in a trailer in multiplayer and/or campaign. Fans would go NUTS. And Warthog, don’t worry about it. Trust is big. We can’t just go out and buy Halo when it’s announced anymore because our trust was lost. That’s big, don’t worry about it.

That may be, but Im still skeptical.

Can I join the spartan company
