You may like to be at a disadvantage, others don’t, and others don’t like to use that advantage vs others regardless if one chooses to do so or not.

I mean, hitboxes are a necessary focal point when discussing the inclusion of Elites. It’s true that some care because they don’t want to be imbalanced against Spartans, while others don’t because they get to play as Elites. Hitboxes have to be talked about because if there’s no advantage to being an Elite, a bigger target, then there’s gonna be a wave of complaints. I think that just increasing the speed and shields of the Elites is fine if we’re dealing with bigger hitboxes, but that’s my opinion. I wanna know what everyone else thinks of it though.

I think in halo 3 elites and Spartans kept the same hitbox though, and that worked out fine…

> > Why didn’t they think it wouldn’t be as important as Spartan combat?

> And Halo 5’s Multiplayer is within canon. If you read the description of the old Helmets, and notice everything is in a simulation, it’s gonna be mostly Spartans. (But Elites and Spartans trained together.) Only a small portion, and I’m sure when the Arbiter said, get yo a** back to Sanghelios to fight this war, they left.

S-scuse me? Why are you being rude? I-I didn’t direct an insult to you like what’s wrong dude?
I was agreeing with you but I was expanding the topic, why do I need to grow up if I’m literally putting forth more credibility to your argument, I am not against you for Christ’s sake!
If 343 did Halo Reach’s Multiplayer than they should know how to balance, and they have no excuse because of the Anvil Initiative that they should clearly follow through with because of this forum thread.
I’m with you! Like everyone else here!
If you’re referring to “Come on, that’s no excuse” I’m talking as if to 343, because the sentence prior talked about the fact that Halo 4 indicated clearly that Elites weren’t working with the UNSC because “they were no longer allies”, but they still could’ve easily integrated Reach’s reason of “They are clearly enemies” (UNSC and Storm Covenant).
There is no excuse, for them. Everything cleared up now?

(See hitbox argument) Its an issue for people who Loved Reach’s Elites, and people who loved Halo 2/3’s Elites. Don’t want to disappoint one community and piss off the next now do we?
I have a great plan for this, and so does ChocolateRay!

The other day I went back on to MCC to try to play Multiplayer for the first time in a long time, I played a game in H2 Anniversary. I used to not care for playing as a Elite, I thought it was cool but it wasn’t a MUST HAVE feature to me. But when I played H2A, I saw one of my teamates was an Elite and some enemies were Elites. I dont know why but something sparked inside me and I thought it was amazing for Spartans and Elites to be fighting alongside eachother in MP. I had forgotten what it was like. Next time I get on H2A Im changing to an Elite. It just makes MP more diverse and unique and I love it. 343i please please make playable Elites in Halo 6!

I understand we all would love Elites becoming playable in Halo 6, but let’s not start arguing with one another over it though :(. Let’s be cool and just put forth our ideas, requests, opinions, etc. We all want playable Elites, soooo let’s make sure we’re all friendly :).

Quote from Halopedia:
"Did you know

  • …that Spartan-IVs and Sangheili participate in War Games simulations together on Anvil Station?"Which is a good basis for playable Elites in Halo 6, since Halo Online got shut down.

My Elite is abord the infinity with a grunt right now. He and my spartan are training together.

Thats the fun part about 343 makeing multiplayer Cannon, we’re allowed to make certain things in the story happen (within reason) and not get it mixed up in none cannon debates.

Pretty much the same with Anvil Station, our Elites could have been there for a time, and moved over the the infinity after Anvil got shut down.

I’m not going to trudge through several hundred posts to find out if its already been discussed on the thread but who else is hopefull that Installation 01 will help give 343 the push they need to give us what we all want?

There are actually thousands of posts.
Anyway, Installation 01 has two possible effects:

  1. 343 sees the pleased fans, says “Whoever wants that can play that, we’re doing our own thing.”
  2. 343 sees the pleased fans, says “Huh. People posted all of this criticism online, and when those points were fixed in this game, people were actually happy with the game they got. Maybe we should actually listen to criticism from fans of the series instead of hiring people who hate Halo.”

Let’s hope option 2, but knowing 343’s track record, anyway, I can hope…Good thing my PC is a good one…

I’m thinking they’ll go with option 2. 343 isn’t stupid, they really aren’t. Imagine If they acknowledge Installation 01 and sees how happy fans are with the playable Elites, but still doesn’t include that same SUPER common request from fans. The amount of backlash would be insane. So honestly, I’m thinking this would motivate them seeing how the fans are with this game. They said they’re taking in feedback from the previous game to improve with the next main installment, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if they announce playable Elites sometime soon.

Aaah yes, the friendly neighborhood Installation 01 :D. Definitely gonna be playing that soon. Now we wait till 343 realizes how important playable Elites are!

I just hope that their budget is large enough… HW2 didn’t exactly rack up much money on sales numbers… I never thought I’d say this but, -here goes nothing- I hope that the misserable req packs made enough money for a good budget for H6
Speaking of HW2, does anyone remember the kill animation for honor guards in HW1? Where they would grab a spartan or marine by the foot, and swing them around in a circle like a sledge hammer, and then releasing?

I think budget shouldn’t be an issue. It’s a multi-million dollar franchise supported by a billionaire publisher. Not to mention even with halos declining sales, they’re still supposedly making more money than ever because of merchandise, the reqs, and even if H5 sold 5 million copies that’s still a lot of money. I haven’t looked up the budget but my guess would be halo games tend to get around 100-200 million in budget and they make their money make and more.

playable elites won’t be excluded because of budget but more so with how much does 343 care to implement them. The franchise is simply way to big for budget to ever be an issue for anything. If it can pay for dedicated servers, tournaments with 2 million dollar prize pools, outside media like movies, books, animation series, etc etc then it can definitely pay for anything else.

Yeah, you’re probably right there…
Still, anyone remember that animation?
