It seems like it could be a little unbalanced if they change the hitboxes, yet it pisses me off when my bullets pass clean through an Elite player model.

However, since many others seem very keen on using balance as an argument against playable Sangheili, a solution that has been offered dozens of times is that we can just put playable Sangheili in everything besides ranked playlists. Simple as that.

Me neither, I may exclusivly play as an elite, but probably for the best to keep the elites in social, I agree.

Hmm, true, though the elites are harder to hit in the head from behind. Then again, as you said we would be a bigger target. Though Still would find it safer to keep them in social.

It doesn’t really give them bragging rights if there were any advantages or disadvantages.

The reason is consitency; allowing a mix of character models would essentially add an element of random to the combat (automatic weapon spread mechanics notwithstanding) which can and will upset people who want to measure skill with an absolute minimum of error.
The hitbox would have to be identical for elites to be viable for a competitive setting, just imagine how terrible an elite would look in a spartan posture with spartan proportions.
You could say: “It’s fair if everyone has the choice”, but that’s the same as having loadouts in Arena, in the same sense that certain situations favour certain choices. Elites are easier to kill on smaller maps where everyone is running at eachother, but on bigger maps, elites can be a lot harder to kill from behind, as their heads are tucked in front of their hunched shoulders.
I’m 100% for elites in Halo 6, I just want them to be relegated to elite slayer, some Social playlists and custom games. That’s how we get the best of both worlds, I believe.
The different size change almost nothing in Reach, I had two 1v1s to realise automatics weapons contests are 50% (not like they happen a lot, I always to avoid such situations) , precisions weapons, the same.
And I had Halo 2 to realise being shot in the head from behind it’s still easy even when you look at the ground for that purpose, that and the fact you don’t take a lot of bullets before dying, it’s different but not by a mile.

The fact that there is a difference is the reason why elites shouldn’t be in ranked. If one player (spartan or elite) has a permanent physical advantage however small it may be, automatically makes it a uneven playing field. I’ll give two examples:
Example 1: I’m playing as an elite and some ruffian is trying to snipe me and takes out my shields, so I crouch into cover but since elites are bigger the sniper sees a few pixels of my back above cover and he kills me, I’m left thinking “Wow that’s not fair, if I was a spartan then I would’ve been hidden.”
Example 2: Lets say in the future robotic prosthetics are normal, one guy gets a crappy robot leg he found in the dumpster, he then goes on to join a football league, despite his leg being all rusty and falling apart he still has a metal leg, and he has a small advantage over the other players who have normal legs.

Considering that everyone who is worried about balance will spend 24/7 in ranked playlists anyway I think having Elites in everything except rank is a win/win

Welcome back Brother!
Unless something big was announced at E3 regarding Elites (which I doubt as the forums would have exploded) not much has happened in the main stream halo games.
As far as indi halo games however, a project known as installation 01 has confirmed they will have playable Elites in their fan game. (And it will play much closer to a clasic style halo game)
That’s pretty much it, feel free to join in any of the discussion that are going on currently.
Greetings Friends, I am Wolv Fir 'Vadam. A Sangheili who is still playing Halo Reach… you may be thinking “OMG why would you play that game” or “The graffics (I spelt it wrong deliberately) suuuuuuuckkkkkk” or even “Halo 5 is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much betteeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr”. I have a point to make! I am in an ACTIVE Sangheili bloodline and have been for almost two years. We do play Halo 5 however we do not feel ourselves if we are just playing with no choice to be Spartans. I feel Reach and other games with Sangheili we as the player have more freedom and independence as we are given a choice between two different and customisation characters. When Halo 4 started up I thought were are the Sangheili but hey it’s 343’s first game and maybe they wanted to just focus on the main story and not make things two much harder! Then Halo 5, and with the Swords of Sangheilos(SoS) I thought "Yes I can finally be a Sangheili and maybe take part in SoS missions… Well that idea was thrown out the window.
So yes where have they gone? But hey 343 compensated this with just a few more armour schemes and heads… Hang on… Halo Reach had a whole range to be as personal as ypu can be with changing things from your helmet to your knee caps. Then 343 compressed (H5) it to just Armour and Helmet but added I think its 238 Helmets and 229 armour! Wow anyway I am getting off track here this is for another discussion which I am in mixed minds about.
Overall I believe that 343 must have playable Sangeili in Halo 6 or something more than just Human Spartans! So I do sign for this!
Thank you
Yours Truly

Seeing how 343 also confirmed that LAN support is coming back this gives me hope that 343 is listening to the community and they are bringing back missing and much needed features. Here’s to hoping playable Elites get announced soon brothers! Ib Sanghelios!

See this is my argument for this. They’ve seen the complaints and they are working on it, at least for things everyone wanted. Splitscreen is returning, hell -Yoinking!- black under-suits are coming back, are you telling me that such a small, itty bitty change such as that, which I didn’t even know was a big want from the community until Bonnie Ross said it, Playable elites HAVE to be somewhere down the line of this. What, did that community make a forum post that last years and accumulated over 800 pages of discussion and want of a classic, fan favorite feature?
I’ll be shocked if they don’t add them! But we can’t stop trying, Band my brothers! We will fight!
