To be fair, not much has happened in the last few months.

> Hey quick question, why are playable elites so important to everybody? What difference does it really make? I just want to know why this is such a big issue.
The reason is because of identity. We want to explore something else other than the human side of things. In every game out there it’s all about running around as a human, shooting other humans.
We also can make fun stories and lore around our Elites.
We also really love Elites and think they are awesome.

Becuase, I atleast, don’t find the spartans that intersting, they’re badass sure, but the elites are so much more facinating in my opinion, they have what the spartans have naturally, and over all they’re part of our halo identity, the elites are also -on a personal note- my favourite race in all of science fiction, to me they are like the ultimate predator, (exept for the xenomorphs) and they make great additions to machinima and gamemodes like jurasic park infection, elite slayer and of course invasion. We are very dedicated to the elites as our identity, I can assure you of that.
The Elites are the sexiest race in Halo’s history. Soo yes, we need them back!

> Okay guys, so from what I’ve heard, the elites in the trailer for Installation 01… they’re… they’re thick. But from the teams webpage they explained that “These elites won’t look like that in the final product, they will be slim, muscular, stealthy and deadly, like they always are suposed to be”. Or something like that.
There’s also the machinima element, having Elites (and hopefully other races) make machinima more diverse for different stories and characters.

Yes, we are the upmost… what you humans call -Yoink!-

There are many times throughout the franchise that elites teamed up with spartans: Halo 2, 3, and 5 all come to mind. I think it would be enough to say some of these elites maintained their allegiance to humans and participate in the simulations for training purposes. Calling them “AI bots” would make them lifeless and less meaningful, IMO.

It’s already been confirmed that Spartan IV’s and members of the Swords of Sanghelios train together on Anvil Station.

Yes, however with the loss of halo online’s support, it does seem like development on that station is going to be rather sparse.

Well 343 have said that they want their multiplayer to be canonical, right? This station would be a a canonical explanation to have playable Sangheili in future Halo Titles.

Indeed I find the exlusion strange, when acording to canon, the elites train together whit the spartan IV’s. But I’ve been thinking. Wouldn’t the elites demolish the spartan VI’s? They aren’t nearly as capable as the spartan II’s or III’s correct? Just another reason why I don’t like the multiplayer being canon.
Edit: I absolutly hate 343’s treatment of the elites, even in HW2 they acted moronic, growling and why did they die so -Yoink!- easily?
One last thing, am I the only one bothered that elites in Halo 5 and wars 2 seemingly had no shields at just the right moments to head shot them and such?
Final edit: Halo head hunters is a perfect example of how dangoures the elites truly are.

That’s because those games feature the sexiest Halo character ever - Thel Vadam!
Glad to see this thread is still going!
Is the O/P stuck under a pile of replies? lol

He hasn’t said anything on Waypoint since page 375 of this thread. I think he stopped playing Xbox around the same time, too.

You really love the word -Yoink!- when it comes to Sangheili, don’t you?
Can someone please lock this post. It’s 5 years old for christ’s sake.
No, it is an important cause and it shall not be locked until elites are playable. Go somewhere else if you want to annoy people or take away their fun.

no because this is the official elite thread, would you prefer having 6000 playable elite threads every day? or would you prefer one big thread for it?

Haha lol. That would be a nightmare.

Megathreads like this one remain open, despite how long they’ve been around. You can look at my signature for a list of megathreads that are exempt from the “don’t necro” rule of the forums.
Also, in the future, instead of publicly posting about a thread’s age, just report it if you think it should be locked. Then a monitor will look at it and make the appropriate decision.
