It honestly would be downright insane if they give us black undersuits and split screen, but NOT playable elites. We’ve been asking ever since Halo 4, it’s officially been around 5 years and still no playable elites… I mean, for crying out loud, there’s an entire thread on Halo Waypoint with 800+ posts that is solely DEVOTED to playable elites being in Halo again. Dear god, please!

Multiple phenotypes would require multiple models though yes? Undersuits aren’t effecting the model besides color change, phenotypes would require different looks in many areas of an elites body. I guess if it would seem “fair” would really depend on who you ask.

In the game killer instinct, they have two different phenotypes for the Arbiter. They justify it by keeping him the same size for both.
So he was bigger than normal, but thay did make him look like his halo 2 counter part along with his halo 5 look.
Thats just one idea really, we dont even need to be the big elites, (preferably so) we just need the smaller nimble Elites, and from there we can make them have different skin or phenotypes well retaining thier size.

I know that most people hate H4’s guts, but it has a good story, a challenging campaign, a good Forge (until H5), and what I think was actually a great multiplayer. If the servers didn’t crash every other game, it would be almost perfect. Halo 5 just needs three words: Warzone, and Super Fiesta!But hey, I also think it would be fun to have a Halo game set in the Forerunner-Flood War.

Its part of identity. Some people find it difficult to attach themselves to just human aspects of things because we experience that daily. People like us want to explore new ideologies and characters that are not of human origin.
Its the same thing as a girl who likes to play as a male character. She wants to be something she is not, and let her fantasy of createing a male character run free (respectively of course)
It may not be necessary to some, but it does hurt those who are attracted to this. Sure it wont " appease the masses," but it will make a lot of fans happy and more engaged in the game and lore.

I agree wholeheartedly with the last part. While Halo can be fun without Elites, the Sangheili add something that the Spartans don’t have.
Elites are totally feasible for Halo 6, especially if it doesn’t have 230 armors for Spartans, and would be really, really fun to play with their own abilities, like the Reach Evade or somesuch.

Yeah, there should be a more definite difference in abilities that would contribute to the overall gameplay of the Sangheili.

You have to understand that having both art styles in the same game won’t work too well. As a FPS at least, in an RTS it’s much simpler because the amount of detail on specific units isn’t very high. This is why the art styles mix in HW2 so much, because they don’t have to focus on the models all that much. Instead we have the Blitz cards to look at which show both art styles, and of course the Blitz Cards don’t have lengthy animations. Otherwise notice in all the cutscenes we only see one type of artstyle throughout, which shows what I’m trying to explain here.

No, I’d never seen that post till now.
The height, speed and jump boost from Reach mean nothing competitive wise, they can’t seriously help to kill the enemy, Elite Slayer would be too similar with normal weapons.

In Combat Evolved Elites run faster and jump higher, Bungie likely added Elites in multiplayer after that because they are very close to Spartans, they got a nerf on speed and height, another option is welcome.
343 lead the serie, there is a way around, always…
I wouldn’t care if playable elites are added. But as long as they are not in Competitive/Ranked Arena, I’m fine with it. The different body structure would really screw with competitive play and could cause an unfair advantage.
