Indeed.

Bungie didn’t need multiple updates for their sandbox and due to time constraints and legal issues, couldn’t.

Anyways the original posts implication was that 343 has never been familiar to having Elites in multiplayer, and are royal to the competitive group that condemns Elites in matchmaking.

I see, I thought you meant their Forge sandboxes.

Oh I remember sayin that! Yes, lately I have been hung over and angry and protesting about the fact that the Halo 5 elites act insultingly dumb in the cutscenes, and I brought it up in a conversation and HE went on about how they might not be used to fighting humans and he really filled me in on that whole situation and made it make a whole lot more sense because these aren’t the elites from the old games, the ones TRAINED to fight humans specifically by the prophets, or trained at all really! It explains it but its -Yoinking!- annoying because I DON’T want to think of them as that, because every time I think of an elite I want to think of the Halo Wars opening and trailer cutscenes, haha!
yeah I play ALOT… wa-wait a minute why would you call me out on that bud? I wouldn’t be here if I didn’t know what I wanted!
Playable elites are my goal!.. What’s yours?

You are a gem you know that! I wasn’t even notified you said that! And there has never been a statement more true for this situation man! This thread is a place to keep known, good ideas, good conversations and respect!
You surprised me son, thanks for that! ugh Sniper was it? I’ll remember that!

Lets not call it a “Fireteam” though, I’m sorry, I’m grown fairly hostility to the mere mention of that! Like could you imagine Fireteam Wort? Haha!

> So, to spawn some creative discussion here, I want to share my ideas on how we could implement playable Sangheili into future Halo titles.
>
> First of all, if the REQ System stays, and it most likely will, this is how we could adapt it to the species we all love and support. Obviously, unlockables like Emblems and stances don’t have to be exclusive for Humans or Sangheili. Maybe assassinations don’t have to either, but I’d like to see that energy dagger being used again.
>
> For loadouts, I’m not exactly sure what we’d do, same thing with weapon skins. I’ll think about that later.
>
> Armors are definitely something that would be exclusive to your species. We could go by the whole “Common, Uncommon, Rare” categorization as well. If you want to know what any of these armors look like, go to this post. Keep in mind, this doesn’t just have to be only armors we’ve already seen, but new ones as well.
>
>
> - Standard Combat Harness/Minor Armor – Default/Common - Standard Storm Harness – Common - Pilot – Common - Officer – Uncommon - Storm Commander – Uncommon - Assault – Uncommon - Gas Miner – Uncommon - Halo 2 Ranger – Uncommon - Halo Reach Ranger – Uncommon - Storm Ranger – Uncommon - Spec-Ops – Rare - Ultra – Rare - Outrider – Rare - Invader – Rare - Commando – Rare - Honor Guard – Rare - Halo Legends: The Babysitter Honor Guard – Rare - Silent Shadow – Ultra Rare - Ascetic – Ultra Rare - Bloodblade-wielding Sangheili Armor – Ultra Rare - General – Ultra Rare - Storm Warrior – Ultra Rare - Halo Reach Zealot – Ultra Rare - Storm Zealot – Ultra Rare - Shipmaster Let 'Volir’s Armor – Ultra Rare - Field Marshall – Legendary - Ranger Arbiter – Legendary - Councilor – Legendary - Storm Supreme Commander (Jul ‘Mdama’s Armor) – Legendary Mythic - Arbiter Armor – Legendary Mythic - Kaidon Armor – Legendary Mythic - Imperial Admiral – Legendary MythicWhen it comes to balancing with Spartan Abilities, here’s what we can do. For credit, a lot of these ideas are inspired by this post.
>
>
> - Thruster Pack – Evade From Halo Reach - Ground Pound – ? - Spartan Charge – A Powerful Kick or Maybe a Quick Dash with the Energy Daggers - Clamber – Stays the Same - Slide – Stays the Same - Smart Scope – Stays the Same - Stabilizer – ? - Sprint – Stays the Same - Chaining Abilities – Stays the Same

DOOOD! I just went berserk when you said to have “Honour Guard” Armour man, like I know they exist in some other form in the REAL Halo games (Maybe Halo 2? I haven’t played that game), but dood when you said that I started thinking of the Honour guard from Halo Wars, I’m sorry but I loved that one and THESE are SPECTACULAR ideas man! I swear I never thought the armour deal would be of use until 343 came out with a trailer. Lately I have just be over my head about how to balance them out, but you completely steered me into hype gear man! I have a feeling they are going to have to make these a lot rarer because most of all of the commons and rares you put on there I’d freakin kill to work for, hahaha! But anyway dood that is awesome, and concerning the lack of assassinations, I really feel like it could be something to add AFTER they actually release it to the public, but if they have something big planned already than I’ll wait as long as its gonna be a freakin parade when it gets here! Imagine the trailers man!
ALSO relative to Spartan abilities! I’m sure nobody can see an elite doing ground pound but I think it’s gonna have to stay if anything, but I wouldn’t mind if they tried adding it in. As concerns for the Evade, HO you don’t know how excited I’d be to see that, and I feel it’d be a pretty balanced ability if it were to be executed with the bigger models, it’d give them a counter to someone aiming for their head. Just press that bumper and you’re head will disappear until it’s at least a meter to the right or left, haha! See I think these are great ideas! (But I am not sure if I want to see Spartan charge back! I’m very sorry I just don’t agree with it XD)

> > That is, gasp my word A gigantic -Yoinking!- WHA-dood that’s awesome, that is literally everything probably wanted, and it’s beautiful man, But I can see! Do you dabble a good bit in the lore cause I haven’t really seen it as much as I’d like to. As I said, I reiterate the idea of just, you know, plain descriptions, the ones from the older games, and the newer ones, and I believe I got off on the wrong set of legs, I actually, usually kind’ve ignore the actual Reach’s design and go directly for the concept, they made them bigger, and isolated them enough to be awesome to play for the casual side, as they were never seen in competitive. I was just thinking, knowing 343, that they’d a model elite, right? Just a standard, BUT here’s where things get awesome! You can change the tone of skin with scrollers that would have the name of that phenotype engraved in. And of course, the ability to darken and lighten the skin in that range of acceptable elite colours we’ve seen so far, maybe even add a new phenotype that they might’ve liked! I want them to have fun with this you know? And if they do, than we will most likely as well. As for the size however! I would absolutely love that, but here’s the kicker. I personally think it would rile even more controversy if we had the ability to make an elite smaller than a Spartan, in which case, nobody would-well I mean SOMEBODY would, but, if it’s possible it might introduce a whole new balancing issue altogether. But, if we keep the sizes available for say, maximum small is about the size of a Spartan. And maximum big? Well you can basically go as high as some of the Elites we see in the campaign, Jul M’dama! I think that would work fantastic, and would than make one of the most fantastic Halo Sanghelli customizations ever, this is actually amazing man I love it! But, you made it man! You take credit!
> > By the way, Something I never thought of up to this point. That freakin wide customization would be SENSATIONAL, opportunities to endulge in old armour, some new armour (if they implement it) AND but here’s the awesome part, wearing rare and VERY difficult to achieve armour pieces from THE CAMPAIGN AND OTHER LEADING ELITES?!

>
> Also, I’m really liking your thinking on the biological customization, and I heavily agree with your ideas. Scrolling through the Sangheili names for these Subspecies and then picking a skin color that that subspecies canonically can have. And yeah, it’d be nice to have all the Sangheili armor sets (especially considering the fact that Halo 5 has at least 229 Spartan Armor Sets, and that list I created has like 30-40), from ones predating the Covenant to ones created during the Covenant to ones used after the fall of the Covenant Empire, just so you could interchange them whenever you wanted to. And you mentioned rarity among these Combat Harnesses. I actually have a second post/list I update periodically that lists all of these armors in Halo 5’s rarity system.

Oh jeez man! I didn’t expect-your response is! I didn’t think you the long response guy man that’s awesome! Also That wonderful picture I was talking about was that one you referenced me to… it was, it was a, like it was a conversation about Phenotypes I know that much. I can remember it though, it showed a view of a small community of a more thin Sangheli type that bore more growths like… I don’t want to call them horns, they were like scales that popped out a bit! A-a-anyway they were all looking into a circular object in the distance, I don’t think it was a sun but it was definitely something, I can go find it again if you want actually, I can’t have lost it already.
Also yeah thanks for that man! I was just on the spot, thinking about a customization where there was a rank 1 sanghelli, standard peon armour for the minors of the storm covenant, and than me just changing the tone and the look of the skin (having the names of the phenotypes was just a fun little addition to please the Lores!) and you know, just a wide customization option under the armour-y-y-you know think of it as if you got to customize your Spartan’s undersuit, only elites don’t have an undersuit, they have skin. that you can-y-you get my point, haha! BUT I emphasized, that I do like the fact you know, you can get them from the req system, but not all of them! Jeez man, legendary armour sets like Jul M’dama should be EARNED! You must assassinate a Spartan wearing the mark armo-no that would be too-how about assassinate Spartans, 25 gets you the armour, 50 gets you the helmet, it doesn’t have to be like that but I wanna do something! And don’t you get me started on working for SHIPMASTER Volir’s armour man! Legendary mythic that masterpiece, haha!

Ah yes that’s from Halo Legends: Origins 1. Those Sangheili are staring at a Halo Ring.

I am the long response guy if I have the time and I deem a long response necessary. I like the addition you made of the correct names of the Phenotypes because I myself am a Halo lore guy. Also I do believe some Sangheili Harnesses have undersuits if I’m correct. I guess the whole achievement type system of earning your armors is a neat idea, it’s just that people are always complaining that we wouldn’t be able to incorporate playable Sangheili into a game like Halo 5, so I came up with an idea how to: By following the REQ System.

I agree Fireteam seems like the incorrect terminology for Sangheili, but I don’t know the Sangheili order of battle, hence why I just decided to call it a team.

Clan most likely. Although typically a clan consists of about 50 or so people. (it might be a little less)

So it would probably be more correct to use the term tribe. Tribes are a collection of clans.

Also, Sangheili do go by states, Such as the state of Vadum, the State of Sraom, etc…

Obviously, unlockables like Emblems and stances don’t have to be exclusive for Humans or Sangheili. Maybe assassinations don’t have to either, but I’d like to see that energy dagger being used again.

I was just again trying to compensate for the people who complain about balance, so I decided to take some inspiration and come up with ways that we can make Sangheili work with Halo 5’s abilities. Now Spartan Charge may not matter to you, but at least we have a solution to it if they keep it in the future. This is not the case with ground pound or stabilizer, as they both require floating with thruster packs. Some may say the simple solution is to give all Sangheili thruster packs, but I don’t like that. Canonically, only certain divisions like the Rangers or Gas Miners can have any sort of Thruster Pack, or Anti-Gravity Pack, or Jet Pack. The rest of the divisions don’t.

Clan and tribe both seem like too large of groups for a 4-person team. Also States are just bloodlines, and the characters I mentioned are all of different bloodlines.

Oh, I thought you meant like a full on group of warriors working together.
NVM then.

Elites are my favorite

Goddamnit! If I ain’t happy to see Shipmaster in his true form in this beta guys! I absolutely love him to death! But there is something about him that I feel neutral about because I feel it’s hindering, but also interesting, you know? And I’m obviously talkin about his voice! If you guys have heard him in game, he talks in such a strange, almost vulgar manner, but clearly 10x smarter than, say, Decimus or Atriox, you know? His voice, interesting, and that’s not bad, I just haven’t heard an elite sound like this before, and many a day I hear talk about phenotypes and the benefit of matchmaking, but as me and ChocolateRey have discovered, it’d be a blast to have some sort of customization UNDER the armour, not necessarily the undersuit, but the skin, and the texture! Something makes me wonder if Shipmaster is a different phenotype-now yes, he’s clearly Sangheli and we’ve seen this kind of elite before, even ones that don’t habit that low voice we, or at least III associate with Elites! The voices of Halo 5’s elites, Halo Reach’s to an extent, according to the grunts they make and stuff! The last Shipmaster we saw in Halo 3, however, let alone the arbiter, they had the very human voice that I think those who have grown to THIS Shipmaster’s voice are used to! But not even they can say they’ve heard an elite sound like this! Could this be a potential customization option, I don’t know man, I’ve been loving Overwatch to death, and part of that love is the character’s voices! I’d love to interchange between them, even if it is for just grunting when getting hurt, but Oh contraire! Lately I’ve been hearing a lot of “Friendly fire Spartan”
“You filth! Shoot the ENEMY!”
“My weapon is ready”
“AAAAAAGHH!”
“Never work with Spartans”
“Wraith, here to serve”
“For Honour!”
And goddamnit if I don’t want 343 to take advantage of this new voice-in-battle thing that nobody seems to hate so far! Put it where people REALLY want it, hahaha!
