Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

What I really hope 343 does is have Halo 6’s premier gamemode be Invasion. Or a remade version of the gamemode Invasion. Large maps, two sides, plenty of players and stuff. Basically a toned down version of Battlefield’s conquest gamemode(s).
That way the whole hitbox thing doesn’t effect Arena and stuff. It stays in the Invasion mode(s).

Very doubtful after warzone success. I imagine h6 will try expanding upon that rather than reintroduce invasion.

My solution: Keep Sangheili out of Ranked Playlists. Put them in everything else. Simple as that. That way, the competitive side of the community can play with everyone 100% the same.

yeah i see your point there, and im sure i heard somewhere that 343 know elites are important to the community, nobody likes how they where portrayed in 4 and 5 as being sluggish brutes.

but to contradict what you quoted me on, halo FPS will not feature in E3 this year in a tweet by Phil spencer

I agree with your solution 100% just make it like Reach was, elites only in social play lists and customs and for people who don’t want to be elites can select preferred species as human.

Halo Reach didn’t have that. Invasion was the only matchmaking game type that mixed the two species. Halo 2 and Halo 3 had them mixed in many gametypes.

Are you talking about the way they fought/acted, or are you talking about the way they looked? If it’s the way they acted/fought, I guess that is debatable. If it’s the way they looked, you can’t just assume that nobody likes that phenotype. I mean, I like it.

In that case, lets hope that the MP team recognize this.

Do you ahve a link to this though? I’d like to read up on that.

Dood I’d kill for the Reach type again man, in fact that’s the type of Elite size I want, but I feel like people outmatch us in terms of those who want the balanced elites with a small hitbox, Which I liked! Don’t get me wrong, but I’ll definitely miss being sensibly tall man! Remember if they bring them back they gotta do it right, it’s either a tough choice between balancing them for ALL gamemodes, or heightening them for casual gamemodes and customs! To which the answer to that is the safe solution! Add both of them!
Balanced for Competitive, Large and too an extent, regular in other gamemodes, and of course, you’d have the choice to play as the balanced ones in every gamemode, but the larger ones would just be a blanked option in competitive.
I’ve said this way too many times, I know! But I feel it’s the best solution, but I’d like to hear if anyone else has a better idea because that’s the best of both worlds in my opinion!

Casual gamemodes man, give me my phenotype options.

Some ideas:

  • Invasion - Firefight - Anything custom (unless desired otherwise) - Campaign - Forge - And some other things that may lay in the futureThe moment we start restricting ourselves to anything less then this, we’ve lost the battle.

True true! Exactly my point! I don’t like to remove the old elites from the equation, but no! No no no! Removing the new ones from the equation isn’t an option either! I loved them no matter how “sluggishly brutal” they were, and to an extent, I actually disagree with that! The new elites, in my opinion belong in a new type, a taller, more selective type that the storm covenant, I am assuming, needed for their numbers. This type, I have seen, and can see having a larger build, with more strength involved in battle, and I LOVE THAT, they are not brutes, they are not idiots, they are elites. If you haven’t noticed, I am never going to include Halo 5’s campaign portrayal of elites, cause I often don’t like to account for their scenery at all there, you can check the cutscenes to understand what I mean. Those are NOT the elites 343 intended to make, I can guarantee that, because they went against everything I saw them set up to change up the covenant. The way they acted in the campaign, was exactly how everyone describes them, and I, no matter how much resistance I get, will never acknowledge that insult to Elites ever again!
Vale should’ve died trying to pull off the moves she did considering this type, and Locke should’ve at least struggled a BIT fighting Jul M’dama! Nothing strikes a cutscene better than conflict, and that cutscene has to be my least favourite in the Halo Universe now, and that doesn’t even include the rest of them!

Overall These elites shouldn’t go! ESPECIALLy considering how 343 has made them the main enemy. The old elites aren’t gone, and I’m willing to bet 343 will bring them back considering this entire forum, but that doesn’t mean the new ones shouldn’t be excluded from the party!

It’s true, on the last community update it had a note under it saying it kinda looks like an Elite head, lol.

EXACTLY!.. But I don’t want to get rid of them! hahaha!
Ok I’ve been told thousands of times that I should just shut up and pick a side, but I can’t tell you how much I would hate myself to NEVER play devil’s advocate again, because I’m gonna be frank, I like EVERY elite that’s ever been crafted by Bungie, 343 and Ensemble hands. And while I know that it’s probably the less likely to happen to see 3’s and Reach’s implementation molded together, It’s nice to think about it. I don’t however, want leave MLG’s out of the equation! Elites should be balanced, but I can’t stress enough How both of the sides are equally important! The safe solution man!

it was the way they acted for example in the cutscene where Locke kills jul’s elites they are all sluggish and big oaths, not the “Elite” warriors we once knew.

I hope they can use the solution here, but I simpathize with Sniper945. The only people I personally have ever heard complain about this are hard core comp players (no offense to them). There is always someone who is going to hate. I have see a number of very good solutions here. I hope they will listen to us instead of that small group that dose nothing but complain.

Don’t get me wrong, I love comp players. I even play competitively often, (in respective modes) but some times I see people act like comp players own things, and that if they don’t like it then it won’t be there.

I wouldn’t be surprised if those elites were drunk, especially the one who tried feebly to grab Vale. He was like “Huh, get over here you little (mumbles incoherently), D’oh!” and then stumbles drunkenly over the cliff after being lazily backhanded.

Yea, and there freaking meaty bodies didn’t help them much either.

They can soak up damage, but they can’t move for crap. Lol

I had nothing to do with their bodies, any Sangheili can easily move faster than Humans.

I like to think these ones are slower, bulky, and stronger. But your right.
