Not only that, but Forerunners would look almost identical to Humans, at least in armor, defeating the purpose of having them in at all.
> theres no way that could be even close to canon
Have you read the Forerunner Novels? These Novels have tie-ins to Halo 4.
There are some scenarios that could fit for Forerunners on the Infinity; some rebelled against the Master Builder forming an alliance with the UNSC, which is why they could be in Multiplayer. They are similar to ancillas what 343 Guilty Spark was, so they could be fought as holograms.
> Not only that, but Forerunners would look almost identical to Humans, at least in armor, defeating the purpose of having them in at all.
There were different types of Forerunners; Warrior Servants, Builders, Life Shapers. All looked different and came in different sizes. Take Promethean’s for instance they were the most powerful warriors who were 4 meters tall and could be considered more powerful than a Spartan or Elite, capable of crushing theirs skulls into dust. So armour and size would be quite different
Is it so hard as to take the 3D models that are already made and make them as skins? Like in Halo 3? Not like that’ll be a big change from what is in Halo Reach now; no armor customization… Only thing you can do with Elite armor in Reach is change the color, and even that doesn’t work 100%. The only color I use for my Elite, which is purple, always appears blue.
In the end, it seems that nobody in 343, or at least nobody in charge in 343, like elites anymore.
Maybe in the next bulletin 343i will acknowledge us.
> I Concur, I believe the appearance of sangheili In halo four Multi-player will be Vital for Success, and diversity.
Agree, the Elites are part of the Halo universe as much is the Chief. Bring back the Elites to Multiplayer, I like to play both.

> I’m just giving a few examples, I’m not 343i but it’s not that hard to get a few good reasons.
> 1. They don’t fit the story, spartan VS spartan training, no more, no less.
> 2. They’re not needed, playing as elites adds nothing fundamental to gameplay, and it’s only in Reach elites even been different beasts at all.
> 3. They would have to spend time creating armours, weapons, skins and abilities not to mention balance them against the human counterparts, very had and would take a lot of resources for a very niched feature.
> 4. Few game modes need elites, a part from invasion, there are very few game that need or benefit from elites, and invasion could easily be done spartan VS spartan.
> 5. Elites are not a part of the ordinary MM experience, they were never present in Halo CE or Halo 2, in Halo 3 they were just a custom skin for spartans, didn’t even affect gameplay much.
> 6. It wouldn’t be worth it, simple as that.
> Create unique weapons, abilities and characters for multiplayer that would need the same time and balance as the whole other sandbox with human stuff, for a few playlists, hardly seems worth the time or the trouble.
>
> Don’t get me wrong, I’ve got nothing against elites but I can see many reasons for 343i to scrap them for their first Halo release, they’re not that important to teh game and hence can easily be scraped for the time being.
Elites don’t fit in at all. It is a SPARTAN IV Training program, it has most likely been going on for years and they are probably un-aware of the war ending OR the war ended sorecently that elites were not incorporated into the training system.
ALSO- The Arbiter took his remaining conformed elites back to Sanghelios(Sangheli/Elite home planet)
So no Elites can’t be on the inifnity
The argument of “It will take time to put them in” is moot considering their models are already in the campaign, anyone who can work computer script can take 5 minutes to put them as an option in multiplayer.
And taking them out of MP because they wanted cannon behind it is just stupid.

It is confirmed from GI that Elites are in the campaign, in the first mission in fact, so you are wrong there.
It has also been stated that the Infinity can replicate holographically anything required for training purposes, so even if you can’t play as a real Elite, you should be able to play as a holographic one. They could even write in that Elites get onto the ship (since a group of what is considered a splinter group from the Arbiter’s party attacks the MC’s ship in the first mission), thus we not only have reason canon-wise for Elites to be playable in multiplayer, but we have the basis for an Invasion gametype.
If the Sangheili are not playable then even machinimas will be ruined. For instance a machinima called the forgotten spartans was supposed to end in Halo 4, but it will not since there are no Sangheili in that game.
In addition the Halo 4 Sangheili can be easily added in multiplayer. Spartans would be fighting Sangheili holograms controled by other players.
Furthermore, we have been playing as the Sangheili since halo 2 came out, so why should we be thrown away from Halo so as to CoD funs to come into it?
I cried when i seen this. I love fighting Elites. Non the less i love playing as one. I want my Elite
I’m hoping that the quote was more of a misinterpretation and that Elites will only be barred from the ranked games featuring progression and Spartan Point bought stuff.
Perhaps to remove the potential balance issues with hitboxes and maybe laziness with not wanting to make an equivalent set of attribute customizing Elite armor.
Elites have always been my favorite race in Halo, from their portrayal and appearance in the first game to the characters in the novels. In Halo 2 I was overjoyed when I first learned you could play as one, and when I discovered they actually had missions in the campaign and saw how the story progressed…
Well there was no doubt in my mind that they told a far deeper more interesting story in the universe then Master Chief ever could with his expressionless helmet and witty one-liners. By comparison the Chief was just a vehicle for the player to kill bad guys while the Arbiter was a character.
The Arbiter actually had more meaningful interactions with the human characters then the human main character! They seem to have realized something with this with all of the talk of exploring John as a character in the Halo 4 campaign.
I was actually sorely disappointed when I learned that his role had been reduced to coop buddy who follows you around, with much of his story left untold and what was left given in a rather unsatisfying manner from another persons perspective.
A removal from multiplayer would only continue the apparent trend of considering the Sangheili perspective to be unimportant or even detracting from the overall experience.
So if you ask me, we don’t just need Elites to still be playable in some form of multiplayer again. What I think we really need is another Arbiter campaign where we can once again view the whole situation from Sangheili eyes and see how the events that have already occurred and will unfold ingame have affected them.
Well, here’s hoping we’re all pleasantly surprised.

I hope you’re right, but I don’t think 343 did it out of laziness, they probably made the spartan customization insane and worked on it a long it, after a while it probably came clear that they couldn’t do the same for the elites.

You sir make the most smartest logical reason I have ever heard in a long time. and no joking either

Of course I’m right, since all I stated is that this is what I’m hoping and I better be right about the fact that I’m hoping for something I should be hoping for.
Did that make any sense?
But because the wording was put in such a way that it might possibly be misinterpreted I still consider it a possibility. And I tend to use the word “laziness” in a rather loose manner. Whatever the case they either didn’t want to or couldn’t put the same amount of effort into the Elites with the time they had.
I suppose Spartans will always hold priority over them and perhaps that’s the way it should be, but even so the Elites don’t deserve to be progressively minimized with their roles regressed to Halo CE. If there is a new and Ancient Evil threat one must wonder if humanity can successfully combat it with forces depleted from years of a losing war with insurrection forces cropping up once more and some potentially hostile former Covenant still around.
Sure, they have Spartan IVs now and one really good ship to carry them but even then I think they’re not going to have enough resources on their own as this new threat can probably match or exceed them, especially if they’re Forerunner or Precursors as many have guessed.
So, what I’m saying here is that the UNSC might actually need their support and assistance against this new threat and the Elites might need them in return. Even if it’s only because both currently lack the resources to fight a long-term war against a superior foe on their own even if they don’t completely trust one another.
> Maybe in the next bulletin 343i will acknowledge us.
Elites won’t be in MM, 343 said that…

Wow… dude I was agreeing with you, I just want elites back.

Who says the elites have to be on the infinity? The elites were allied with the humans back in halo 3, but somehow within five years they managed to rejoin the covenant (wtf 343?). Seeing as how they are with the coveneant and the humans surely did scans on them, im pretty sure the spartan ivs would like to know their enemies inside and out. This would leave very good reason to have either elites not allied with the covies on the infinity, or bots/holograms to replace them. This would also leave room for forunners as well.

He meant awcknowledge that we are even here at all. Give us a reason as to why the elites arent in MM.
