I got hocked to the franchise because of halo 2, that one time you got to play solo as an elite in the campaign. I have read all the books and graphic novels and played all the games because of my interest in the elites. I also happen to have a deep personal connection to halo because of them. As I explored the culture created for them, I found out about their sense of honor ( I have a honor code of my own that I stick to rigorously.) and that the males grow up without knowing their fathers, yet managed to go through life and be successful ( not all of cores). I grew up without my father and if it weren’t ironic enough all ready, the people who I looked up to in his place where mostly military (Most adult male elites have done military service). THE ELITES CULTUR AND WHO THEY ARE, IS ONE OF THE THINGS THAT SHOWED ME I COULD MAKE IT THROUGH LIFE WITHOUT MY FATHER AND WHO TO LOOK UP TO FOR GIDENCE. So, believe me when I say that for some they are a defining feature of the game.

And besides, it allows me to express myself in that manner should I have the choice, I personally thought Reach was a spectacular game for the reason that, on top of all it’s achievements, playable elites stood out up there. Just the fact that they added them makes me very happy and that’s what leads me into the secondary but probably the biggest that I’ve probably said already.

Many people find it confusing why I say this, but I feel obligated to say that adding them is an answer to if they are really listening. I’ve said before that they’ve shown it already coming this 10th update, and it is good, but Playable elites, an incredibly powerful and special allocating of resources, for the sole purpose of those who have lost touch with playing their Halo. If 343 brought them back, they’d be sealing another customer for any of their future “real” and paid dlc.

I have to agree with him on that ^^^

I thank you wonderful people for agreeing, all the more reason they see good in the idea of this becoming a thing, which I really want it too! You all are spectacular on that regard, but I have a question! If they were to be brought back, would you consider bringing them back the Reach Way? Or the 3 way? Cause they both have their pros and cons, often bias to one side a lot of the time, what’s your side?

H3 way with a touch of reach. The complaint was about their body and head porportiond and location. I don’t want SoS to be cut and paste old trilogy but keep some if the look.

Mostly h3 version but with larger headdress and less hunched over. They’d get faster movement and shield regen (not time before recharge) only to balance then out for being larger targets.
The headdress removes the headshot problem.

Can we have h3’s elites for balanced multiplayer, and h5’s Gigantic ones for casual multiplayer? haha! I’d love to have invasion back in it’s true glory! But I will say I do see where you are coming from, complaints were pretty dodgy on that front, whether it was too hard to hit or too easy to be hit, to be honest, for me, I don’t mind, more power to me if I feel comfortable, towering over Spartans, haha! Would you want it kind of in the middle of Reach’s implementation, and Halo 3’s?

That was the original arguement, and I only brought it up due to “it’d make it different than CoD” when (while true vs CoD) it still Doesn’t separate halo from other games in the end in terms of playable non human characters.

> > > > > Exactly, it’s confusing right? haha, I don’t even know why I love elites as much as I do, I just feel compelled to engage differently within the battlefield, to be seen as taller, but for the most part… an Elite!
> > > > > I would have faith in 343 industries for the rest of their Halo, if they would connect to our wants as a small portion of the community that yearns for playing as Elites.
> > > > > 343 if you are reading this I say look at this thread for a perfect example of the community’s yearning, Elites are more special than you think! Please!

At the same time, every now and then we have someone who asks “why do you guys want playable Elites so badly?” The same reason why people want more armor customization.
> > >

>
>

Good point, I do still play the game and there is more to it than elites. I can relate to them a lot more then other characters in the game. Thats why I want them back.

(Oh my god what is this parallel universe where Neb finally returns?)

In all honesty I feel that the two extremely detrimental factors to Halo multiplayer are no Elites and lag issues. To the point where we can use the Arbiter’s own PERSONAL ENERGY SWORD, I think it’s time Elites made their comeback.

Bring elites back please <3
One idea stood out the most in my now locked thread.

Im aware, but had forgotten this existed because its got buried under other posts

A lot of people seem to blame 343 for the removal of playable elites in Halo 4 and the lack of their re-introduction in Halo 5. The thing is honestly it is not just 343 to blame, they can try, but if Microsoft does not allow them enough time, it simply can not happen. Perhaps playable elites are not number 1 on their to do list, I think they should be but whatever, well then if they simply are given enough time, they will reach playable elites on the to do list. Playable elites for me personally is what set Halo apart from other similar games, Halo to me now seems to much like Call of Duty with shields. Elites really added something to the game, with the mode invasion for example which was a very popular game mode that SHOULD return.

They sure as heck better be in Halo 6 then, and all the forge content/current feature set brought over

Yea, I hope they bring the forge stuff over. Come to think of it, I hope they bring all the things we unlocked over.

But none of it matters if there are no playable Elites of course. lol

I used to enjoy playing as the dinosaur’s , they should bring them back along with some female versions.

I’m curious to see how Invasion would fit back into the way that Halo is headed. Due to the change in the gameplay and whatnot. Which a big factor for keeping everything balanced is gameplay, this would also be applied to playable Sangheili.

There’s a particular feeling I’ve been yearning for, nay, desperate for, that I cannot live without. A certain power and force and pride that could only be felt as a Sangheili in a modern Halo title. The agility… gracefully clambering onto a platform, deftly dodging an advesaries attack with an evasive roll. The strength… as my powerful leg stretches outward, forcefully knocking an opponent into the adjescent wall. The pride… hearing a Sangheili voice call out from my side, “well fought brother!” as my sword impales the abdomen of another victim, my own voice a roar of victory sounding his demise. Running now, swiftly, vigorously, hearing my alien breath inhale, exhale…

These are the moments I dream of, the moments that could have been. Because this dream is strong, because it is my vision, I still hold out hope, my faith unconquered, heart soul and mind devoted yet still.

I live for this dream.

Please don’t refer to them as dinosaurs. It’s honestly ignorant, stupid, and uninformed. If anything, you should be referring to the Kig-Yar like dinosaurs.
