cool, added my vote. wonder if we’re going to have to end up doing what the competitive community did and have to compile a 14 page essay in conjunction with the other vocal communities. One would think This monstrocity of a thread would be enough.
Well we know some of the multiplayer people have to at least have seen this, had to. Maybe they can hint something to whoever can make this happen. It just needs to get to the right person.
MP team is great and all, they gave us a UNSC flying vehicle and a boss other than warden, i and many others of the community want some mp elites in general mp.
its not like we don’t want SoS to look different, we do. Use as the excuse to fix them for balancing issues.
What are these balancing issues I keep hearing about? I don’t recall having any issues playing as an elite in halo 2 and 3. I may be misunderstanding what it means. Then again I only ever play split - screen and campaign. Upset about that with halo 5, split screen I mean.

Its one of those things like “female spartans have smaller hit boxes” or “black makes you win ffa” , the fact says these make no diffrence but people “feel” they do.
In the case of elites it is that they have a big torso but a small head that somehow gives them an advantage in swat. They disregard that they had the same hit box.
For returing elites the only two variants that we’ve in prior conversations agree upon is they are done halo reach style and be a diffrent class or we go the h3 route and give them all head dresses to make the head visually larger but keep a shared hitbox.
And the splitscreen thing, thats what got me into halo in the first place.

The hit boxes were the same size, however, elites design did not allow for someone to land head shots on them from behind (which one can do when facing a spartan)also, elites heads move when jumping and there is a space in between the head hit box and the body that ones rounds can go through when they should register as hits. This adds up to them being harder to hit which automatically gives them an edge in combat against a spartan model.
But of course elites have a bigger hit box and in a all spartan game you stick out like a sore thumb.

Being close minded about this isn’t a good thing. I see you have your reasons for not wanting them, however a lot of those issues can be remedied by very close inspection of there models.
Like halo reach they wouldn’t need to go into ranked playlists to keep everything on a good even Steven playing ground.
Also, this game isn’t generic super-soldier simulator, it’s halo. An epic space opra with all sorts of possibilities and mysteries… we want to explore more then just humanity, we want to immerse ourselves in other worldly alien life forms worlds, we live humanity every day.
We are part of this community too, and never once have we said spartans should not be in the game, we always emphasize them working together to try and make the galexy a better place, or in some cases, a worse one (not all people are nice).
My whole point is that we are here too, and we deserve to be in the game as much as any spartan due to halo 2’s inclusion of the first playable elites.
Don’t be closed minded, let’s work together to make this game a better one for “EVERYONE.”

Thanks. In my opinion being able to play as an elite is one of the things that made halo special. It makes sense to have differences between two different species. Something many other games don’t have. I am sure that it takes a lot of work to make elites playable, but it didn’t stop them in the past. Is that really the only “REASON” they took them out or have they given other ACTUAL REASONS? Makes no sense to leave out a part of the fan base because the other parts have a different opinion. Theses aren’t “REASONS”, theses are EXCUSES. The game is suppose to have challenges and figuring out how to deal with different enemies and situations is one of those challenges that makes a game worth playing. Don’t get me wrong, I still play all halo games. I got into halo for the lore, but it always feels like a huge part of the game is missing (PLAYABLE SANGHEILI).
