If the Arbiter returns, I will be happy. The only thing I really have a problem with (in the concept art) is the arms… ugh. They look like Vulture wings without the feathers. Other then that, the concept art looks OK to me.
I’d put on my flamesuit, but I’ve rarely seen flames on this thread.

I actually like the design they gave them, which annoys me even more when they tell us you can’t use them
Although they do nothing for gameplay, id hate to see em go.
I love their screams when they die, their funky crouching, their awkward look in machinimas. They are like a little puppy dog.
I will buy the game, i will. But it will not be as enjoyable. The lack of diversity will -Yoink!- the very thing they call multiplayer.
Brothers, this thread must stay alive. We shall keep it going, without falter, until our words are heeded. If we must holdout this thread until Halo 5, then i will be with you every step of the way.
Ender: We must still finish the arum and the letter. It must be sent to them post haste, so maybe our words will be heeded. Even if we dont get elites until halo 5, there is always hope.
The game will not be as fun without the elites, but for lack of better game i will play it.
I also like the new look. the Sangheili are a proud, ALIEN warrior race. Now they look more fierce and alien. they remind me of the Halo Wars style, which was honestly quite good. I think in previous games they might have been too clean in appearance. I read some scans of the article (posted earlier), and they never specifically said sangheili are out. they might still be available in certain modes, if not in general, and probably just weren’t part of the demo build. I don’t think they would be left out so easily. That or they were replaced by the new enemy. you never know.
Until then, we can only hope that the Elites won’t be completely forgotten. WORT! WORT!! WORT!!!

They did actually. On one of the pictures, the caption was: “In multiplayer, you will be focusing on spartan IVs, Elites will not be playable.”
Has anyone honestly considered, and I know this contradicts current information. But has anyone considered something else might actually replace the Elites? Maybe the enemy we are going to fight in campaign.
I agree if 343 keeps doing what they are too the Halo franchise and change halo too much. It isn’t halo anymore, come on guys at least bungie listened to me.

Taking the “Sangheili” Elites out of Multiplayer is like taking out Master Chief in Halo 4 it is that simple.
Frankly I hope the Arbiter makes a Return to the franchise. Maybe in Halo 5 or 6.
If not i’d love to see maybe a seperate game for those who are fans of the
“Sangheili”. I personally think you are rushing this Halo game out the door and that Halo 4 might be the next Halo 2. Please Frank and 343 or whatever is left of the Halo Team. Please do not let this happen.

Actually I thought of that. Halo CE didn’t allow elites either and its been said 1000 times that this is a new trilogy. elites (or something else?) might come back later.

Oh… i see that now…
darn it. And no firefight either… I hope spartan ops serves as an adequate replacement. firefight is one of the few modes i still play on reach, due to the customization. And I’ve actually temporarily moved onto a different game (which has a mode similar to firefight) since there is only so much you can do when you play a map 500,000 times and have more-or-less thoroughly refined your favorite modes. Trying to walk a fine line between challenging and impossible.

Listening to the interviews i think they are quite positive. They said from the beginning that they are making their own game and want to seperate it from Bungies Halo. all we can hope is that at the end of the day the gameplay itself still feels like halo (please don’t over think it like so many have).

I have, but it would still be nice to see the elites return.

if you read the article, you would know that the elites tried to kill the chief.
I have been absent from this thread for roughly 30 page’s. However my return has been prompted by the grave new’s of the multi player predicament. I have heard hearsay of Arum’s and letters, gathering’s and protest’s.
My brother’s, say the word and I will lend whatever aid I can to return the proud Sangheli to multi player. Perhaps we could organize a community Elite Slayer or Invasion event?

I wish. Gonna miss them in MM I know but I doubt I will play it much anyway. If elites were in MM then I would play it but Halo 4 by all accounts thus far is very much a spartan supremacist game, with no room for diversity. Anyway for the times I do play MM I hope I get to spawn with carbine.

Spartan Supremacist is an understatement. I bet you anything the next Karen Travis novel is going to demonize the Elite’s. And reduce them to mindless evil opponent’s again for a silly reason. They had a golden opportunity to show an expanding perspective of the universe by say maybe an Elite integration with Spartan Op’s. But this also means Invasion is likely out the window.
