I almost never played as an Elite. That said, I’d love to see them return as playable in multiplayer. There’s a lot of things that you can do in the way of Elites, namely Invasion and Firefight Versus (Actual classic Firefight, not Halo 5 Firefight). The way they were handled in Halo Reach worked pretty well, and can and should definitely be expanded on, and hopefully we can see the return and expansion of some of the better things Reach added to the franchise.
i Would be happy if we got elites only for social play lists even I just wish 343 would listen to the community a bit more I mean its bean evident that we’ve wanted elites in halo 4 but I still see no reason there not in 4 or 5 wish they would give a good reason to

Yeah, I plan on forging a covenant corvette but without elites, it really closes off many things you could do with it.
Elites playable characters in halo 5 is what I want

I always liked base Vs. base maps in Reach, it’s sad other Shades aren’t available in Forge (only the anti-air is better than his own counterpart : the rocket turret, funny when you see the that turret is closer to the fuel rod shade) .
If it’s not a ship to ship map, it’s an Invasion map with a phase designed for assault (boom and half of the ship disappears for no reason while few blocks spawn) .

This was there vision…
My idea is similar to how multiplayer is set up now which is Spartans fighting each other on infinity in war games, simply take that a step further and make it so Elites and Spartans fight with and against each other on infinity or whatever ship. Why wouldn’t this work and why shouldn’t it? The Elites & Spartans have already became allies (We can clearly see this in the Halo 5 campaign) and they both respect each others fighting capabilities so there’s no reason to not suspect that they would fight each other to train.
The system would make it so that when you start your multiplayer career you can choose between either A) fighting for the Sangheli Faction and playing as an Elite to fight Spartans or B) fighting for the Human Faction and playing as a Spartan to fight Elites. It would also allow you to start an alternate multiplayer career and play as a Spartan or vise versa. Additionally, there would be modes (like Griff Ball & Infection or whatever) where you can fight alongside the opposing Faction.
In order for this system to work however we would need a larger variety of Elite armors and I believe that the Halo Reach model for elite armors would be the correct way to go except add more. Add Imperial Admiral armor, Supreme Commander armor, Arbiter armor, and etc.
Im back. ¿What happend?

I don’t think lore reasons is why they’re excluded. It’s already established that factions of both sides work with each other. I simply see it as a matter of priority being the issue. What irks me about 343 is we are still missing things 10 months after launch besides just elites. Game modes, a decent theatre mode, to cut it short the list goes on. 343 just seem like idiots that can’t manage their time nor what they should be doing. I seriously would bet money that if we had a different developer we’d have almost everything in the game by now. It would be lovely if 343 can at least say WHY they can’t do certain tasks when needed? Are they to far stretched? Not enough budget for post launch support? Anything from them would at least satisfy some people on these issues. When bungie ran the show they at least have explanations on why X was cut or why X wasn’t here, ect ect. It’s clear 343 look at least these forums (because they’ve posted here and there and even “like” certain comments) but they never give an in depth explanation on why they do what they do. Why the lack of playlists/game modes, why no split screen (already answered now), why no elites(they’ll "try for h6), why no classic playlist(in the works right now), why continue on forcing sprint (partly answered), list goes on. Everything I’ve listed they’ve acknowledged to some extent but have never given a full in depth explanation. That’s where I think 343 are failing in community interaction. It would be like if I asked why there’s no KoTH and they said they’re working on it but they don’t say why it’s not there. It’s a half -Yoink- anwser in a sense.

It’s even sadder when you realize that Halo 4 had a more successful launch than Halo 4 ALMOST as if an entire different company made the game. Look, Halo 4 wasn’t the greatest Halo by far but it still had an amazing campaign and attempted to revolutionize some things (For instance Flood mode was a GENIUS idea).

While I agree with most of what you said I don’t agree with that last part, it wasn’t exactly genius, it was just a reskinned infection. As cool as it was (and wish they’d keep it at least as an option for Customs, for machinima or whatever) it’s not exactly revolutionary. Back when I used to play custom infection games all the time in Halo 3 me and my friends were like “wouldn’t it be awesome if they used the flood combat forms models for the zombies”

It’s pathetic seeing 343 responding to other threads that nobody cares and give no response about the largest issues around their Halo. I don’t understand people describing them as good communicator as developer.
I hope that 343 adds elites and NEW GAME MODES for them not just elite slayer. They can add them in warzone assault (but with more resistant energy shields), warzone firefight and custom games. What game modes can 343 create for them guys?

only problem is 343 has yet to make a constructive (or really anything) comment to us, the best we have gotten was a post on twitter telling someone they weren’t going to be in the anvil update, and even then they didn’t say yes or no…
It’s a PR nightmare…
According to this, I don’t see any energy dagger behind the hand, what kind of weapon Elites could use to perform assassinations beside an energy dagger like Halo: Reach ?
-
how someone can like Halo 5 Elites but dislike Halo 4 Elites when they are the same ? Both have very short mandibles, when I see the Arbiter here, his head is too short. Give me a good reason for this 343, the Arbiter is not a random Elite so shorter mandibles don’t make too much sense (too lazy to make another model is not a good reason) .
-
about assassinations that’s why Elite to Spartan assassinations are cool.
