Can I please get a answer cause curious if it has to do wirh the extended lore or this guy personal reason

> The whole “different phenotype” thing is just damage control on the part of the guys at 343 who need to make sense of the canon. They didn’t make Elites look different with that idea in mind, they just turned out that way and wanted to explain it. Like how in Halo 4 the previous generic frigates looked completely different, and so the new ones were renamed the Strident-class. Even though this included the Forward Unto Dawn which magically switched ship classes while drifting through space.

The dawn change was absolutely upsetting and just not necessary…

Why they changed it dosn’t sit well with me. I know they wanted to start the game off there own way, but for the love off everything why was everything just different!? This isn’t at all were halo 3 left off!
Why does chief have different armour? Why does Cortana look so diffrent? What the heck happend to the dawn? Why are the weapons 2558 models and not the year chief went missing?

Anvil is the cannon station were elites work with spartans and train. They call it the anvil update, but it pays no respect to what it really means.

Well technically skin color is a phenotype, that and since the sangheili are aliens the phenotypical differences (if that’s even a word) might be a lot more drastic compared to humans.

True, I’ll be honest, my favorite elites are Halo 2 elites. Reach’s were cool, but to big. 4’s were intresting, but ugly as all get out and rather poorly textured if I may add. I just want them to either use a good model, or mix the models together creatively.

I personally want the creative one, because why not, it’s more fun and can lead to some interesting things if done right.

What’s the canon reason for elites armor change between 3 and 4 or was it just 343 changing stuff again

Eh, Canon would be this is a different armor set entirely. Easier to mass produce without the resources that the Covenant provided. In the real world though, might just be the way 343i wanted them to look. As to set them apart from older titles.

The Cortana change isn’t that bad, it’s like changing actors for a character or having better graphics. Chiefs armor is different because Cortana worked on it with nano bots or something. The Forward Unto Dawn and weapon changes though were just bad sense and lack of care. Completely agree about those two changes but I heard the reasons for the other two.

OK thanks man been wondering since halo 4 canon wise and all

Does ant one else find it funny that the elites got rugged looking and the unsc got smooth looking

You mean Uglier and uglier? I don’t see the difference.

Yea, it’s the theme they were going for.

Eh, I wouldn’t say it’s uglier on both sides. However that sort of topic is very subjective to each individual. So you don’t like it, and that’s correct. I like some things about it and that is also correct. We all win.

You’re right man although I dislike the smoothness of the unsc I really like how the new elite armor looks

I like all of the elite styles but I prefer the halo 3 version

I myself prefer the reach design of the elites, but 3 still had the right design

So if the reason canon wise is that they wear the new jagged armor because they can’t make the old armor how come we don’t see them wearing they old armor that they took with them from the covenant I’m mean there’s still got to be some working suits and if its better why not

Halo escalations had some of the old designs it it, that was the comics by the way.
