I am not sure if it was mentioned in the 727 pages of wanting elites playable but it would be cool if you pick which species you wanted to be and play as them (ie. Hunter, Brute, Grunt, or Jackal).

Anyway, the way I look at it, the new Spartans are kinda dull. Hundreds of armors that 75% I never pay attention to. The good thing about Halo 3/Reach/2 Anniversary was that you had a few Spartan Armors, and a few Elite Armors, and it worked!!! Canonically it’s not crazy to think that maybe because of all these opposing factions rising (Banished, Prometheans, Cortana), that the UNSC and SoS would work co-operatively in War Games simulations, that opens up more gameplay possibilities (Warzone Invasion, anyone?). You already have all these Spartan Abilities, the Elite Combat Harness could be updated to include these abilities. I mean, could you imagine the Armor Sets? I can already see things like Honor Guard and Councilor return, (Maybe Classic Arbiter Armor like GEN1 Mark VI).

It’s going because there is a large group of Halo fans that want Elites to return. Don’t forget Elites have been apart of the multi-player since Halo 2 (beginnings of Xbox live). An has been a big part of community creations, and game types. So there is also a lot of love for these split jaws.

I’d like to see Elites become playable again though they aren’t the most popular to play as. Playing as other members of the Covenant would be weird, almost like Gears of War 3’s “Beast Mode” where you can play as the various Locust soldiers to try and take down the COG armor defending the base

Im down with that
You know, even though I never really play as Elites, I would hate to see them go, and Matchmaking wouldn’t be the same without them.
At least make them playable in Forge and Customs. No harm in doing that.
