Others include “Alligators”, “Split-chin”, and “Hinge-head” (Gee, thanks Kilo-5).If biology were a factor in these nicknames then the Kig-Yar should not be called jackals (a mammal, not a repto-bird, raptor). Humans love their pet names, but don’t usually consider basic biology in the naming process.

Sangheili don’t even believe that most humans have a name, as to the Sangheili culture earning a name is something done through achievement. The only humans to ever earn a name within the Sangheili culture are Spartans.

If you read some of the comments, you’ll figure out that this happens to all Halo 3 Sangheili.

Hmmmm…I guess it’s a lasts resort to purge the parasite before they get infected… even though it doesn’t really work…

I don’t believe there’s anything like that yet. A couple reasons that come to mind are that, for one thing, Covenant/Sangheili technology is still more advanced than the majority of the UNSC’s arsenal. The few things I think the SoS could benefit from are AI, programming, and encryption (Considering how easily their Battlenets can be hacked), and armor augmentations similar to Mjolnir.
However, the most likely reason I believe that there’s no SoS benefiting is politics. I highly doubt Osman and ONI would sit quietly and allow any Sangheili, even their allies, to advance. Even with pro-alliance leaders like Lord Hood, I have a feeling that ONI would probably throw some sabotage in to hamper the progress.
Or Grim just hasn’t received any new stuff because no new REQs have been made.
The only advantage I can think over Covenant weapons is the projectile speed if bullets are in fact faster than regular plasma bolts but some Covenants weapons have a terrible secondary effect (mostly Needler) .
Also, Covenants weapons and vehicles are real christmas trees and I don’t think they can switch those lights off, they don’t use stealth as much as the UNSC (they have active camo that’s all) .

True. It would also depend on which of the of games the weapons are from. The Needler, has the devastating super-combined explosion, however each individual needle has the potential of doing great harm to targets by imbedding and then exploding. The last game that had that feature was Combat Evolved I believe. And correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that the Storm Rifle and Carbine in Guardians are a lot faster than their predecessors.
As for stealth tactics, while I won’t deny that the UNSC has overall superior methods, we really get to see more of their operations out of the in-universe reasons: The UNSC was simple outmanned and outgunned by the Covenant, and had to resort to such methods. We only get to see a few instances of Covenant stealth tactics, such as when they wanted to capture AI or navigational data. Despite the drawbacks plasma weaponry has when it comes to stealth, it’s compensated for by their visual/electronic cloaking and the sheer power of said weapons. They’re still firing bolts of plasma; despite not being effective against flesh in the games, in canon they boil flesh away and slag through armor like butter. The crippling drawback the Covenant had with their stealth ops was the tendency of warriors’ bravado and desire for glory that made them break tactics to take glory kills (Much like in actual multiplayer. ^-^). There were those who did break this mold; the raiders of the Heart of Midlothian, Rtas 'Vadum(ee)'s Spec-Ops Lances, and I’d even say the Brute Stalkers on the H3 level The Ark did a pretty solid job with their active camo and radar jammers.

The closest thing we have is explosive bullets (even if needles on their own don’t inflict explosive damage I think) and Halo 2 needles inflict damage after they detonate.
And the Covenant would own the UNSC ten times with well trained Grunts on land, note how a high amount of angry Grunts just pushed the Covenant…
There’s definitely a strong population of elite players still. I’ve been playing a lot of mcc and I always we at least one elite other than me. Hell I’ve been playing a lot of halo 3 on the 360 and I still see elites all the time.

No no no did you not hear the news no one likes playable elites no one likes having diversity in their favourite games no one likes unique machinimas.
the kids these days like generic players no diversity in the multiplayer get with the news

It’s not laziness. It’s Microsoft telling 343i to focus on other things like Competitivity and less on playable Sangheili and then they force them to push out the game in a three year period.

That could very well be the case. However, this is the flagship game on Xbox consoles and the ‘little things’ need to be done, period.
The more happy fans (competitive and casual) of Halo, the more money in MS pockets. Word of mouth begins to blow up, and everyone wins.
