> Without elites i think halo 4 is going to lose a great deal of its supporters…
It would lose my support, as well as hundreds of others. I know that number is small in comparison to the vast amount of Halo players, but we are among the most loyal and steadfast fans. When other Halo games lose their popularity to newer games, we were the ones who helped keep the game alive.
I don’t think the augmentations for the spartan IV’s can quite beat the elites. provided that they aren’t still kidnapped at birth. at this point there would really be no need for Oni to risk that and they would barely be able to afford it. I think you have persuaded me on the Mark VII armor being more powerful though. The Spartan III’s and their SPI armor were purposely crappy because of budget cuts (I also forgot the name of their armor so I thought they had some crappy version of Mjolnir for a moment) so there is reason to believe that they do not necessarily set a trend where spartans get weaker. However, to my knowledge Dr. Halsey is still stuck on Onyx, and without her Oni cannot really develop armor that is of the same quality, or Spartans for that matter.
I’m not very well versed on all of this new stuff so correct me if I’m blatantly wrong on anything.
> Without jumping to conclusions, I understand that Sangheili have neither been confirmed or denied for the Multiplayer of Halo 4, but I would like to present my explanation for why it is imperative Elites make a return, much more dignified than the limitations of Reach.

> It is no doubt the Elite community within Halo is small, but having been involved with it for 6 and half years now, I am astounded at it’s growth. As more Halo media like The Return, Halo: Cole Protocol, and Halo: Glasslands makes it’s way to the gamer, the more compelled the gamer is to prefer playing as an Elite over a Spartan. Especially when the media makes reference to things found on a game level, such as Thel 'Vadam or the Revenant. Although that sounds like a very basic and broad way to explain this, after speaking with the populous of newly converted “Elite players”, this is the general reason I get for this exponential growth. To make this point, I ask you to look around, and in nearly every thread you will see at least one or two users with Elite or Covenant avatars.

> 343i, I would like you to recognize that we are here collectively, and we deserve the respect and catered opinions just as much as the Spartan fanbase. Although extreme, I know players who actually will not buy Halo 4 if they are not available in Matchmaking, and I cannot say I blame them. What would Halo be without Covenant Weapons/Vehicles as well? Energy Swords, Needlers, and Wraiths are all iconic symbols of what makes Halo, Halo.

> The limitations of playing as an Elite in Halo Reach are indeed disheartening. Going back to the Halo 3 method of playing as an elite during regular Matchmaking can be the solution. Not only does that add to the customization, but it can also be explained canonically. I understand that 343i is in the process of delivering a canonical explanation for the Red and Blue Spartans fighting each other. The relationship between Humans and Sangheili can be used to add Elites into this mix. Since the UNSC and the Sangheili are allied, having them use human weapons is anything but non-canon. Or if you would like to take the reverse side of the coin, ONI is supplying the Servants of Abiding Truth with weaponry, which is human as well. This can easily be weaved into the plot without creating a mess.

> I understand the game is very far into the development stage, I do not know for sure, but judging by the newest ViDoc, I believe it isn’t too late to give the Elite fanbase a voice. We’re here, we shouldn’t be neglected, and if we are, I can assure you that 343i will lose a great deal of supporters.
i dont understand, why would there need to be a canonical explanation?, its just 2 teams one team given the color red and the other blue, its just a basic rule.

I personally find that a bit silly as well, but that is what they wish to do. I see no problem incorporating elites into that system however. Their relationship with humans is so flexible right now it can be molded into anything.
Elites have always been of signifigant importance to the halo series. The Elite Community is eager for ELites to be involved fully in matchmaking at the same height as the spartan IV’s.

My clan will support this effort until it is confirmed. It is important that there is diversity amonst players, and halo 4 should model halo 3 in that respect.
yes, I’m not an Elite preferred player but they have my respect and admiration, A very close friend of mine couldn’t love halo without elites and after reach released matchmaking became… awkward for us.
If they need a canonical explanation, amusing the reds are fighting the blues, as an extreme spartan 4 training program maybe new elites for a (insert spec op elites program) would also be featured , under treaty ONI would have to cooperate with the Elites’ wishes.
Well they said that they would add a story to multiplayer so maybe now that elites are friends we could be practicing our whatever this story is about with them

I may not like the elite model on myself (spartan/human master race) but the more different cosmetic possibilities for players the better and as I said early this story could extremely easily tie woth the elites
Elites are amazing, though I’m a Spartan, I’d love for Elites to return, two of my friends still play Reach, but are Elites. Now, if they were to say that the Elites wouldn’t be in Matchmaking because it didn’t agree with the storyline, Spartans killing Spartans doesn’t fit the story line either, but it happens. Please let there be Elites in Matchmaking!
> I liked how Elites were handled in Reach. Invasion was a great mode and the different player traits only added to the experience.
All that halo reach did was tarnish the playability of elites. With their over-proportional size, Bungie made elites too different than spartans for them to be considered fair opponents in matchmaking. 343i needs to make elites proportional to spartan sized, have same shields, and customizable armor like in halo 3.
