oh god page 666
Seeing as how this damn conversation is still going, here’s my two cents;
I’d much rather play as one of the true heroes of the Halo universe - the Marines and Soldiers of the UNSC Armed Forces - more than anything else. More than Elites, and more than even Spartans - with the exception of the remaining Ferret-team Spartan IIIs. I think Halo 3 ODST proved that’s far from a bad idea.
Elites are fun to kill.

It could also work. Maybe have another spin off of a marine who just joined and as the story progresses he becomes an ODST and later a spartan IV?
JUST DO IT!!!

The point I’m trying to make is that, in all our time exploring the Covenant, there’s still a lot we don’t know about how the UNSC actually fights. I’d appreciate a game that put us in a sandbox, like Halo CE, as an average infantryman or woman, and allows us use of the toys that we don’t usually see in the boots of a Spartan.
Drones, powerful vehicles like Grizzlies, Tarantulas, and Kodiaks. I bet no-one even knows what a Tarantula is.
I want lore on how ordinary infantrymen who may not be using HUD-enabled eyewear or helmets aim a -Yoinking!- MA5. Maybe it’s their brain implants, projecting information onto not their eyes, but onto how our mind interprets information visually - I’m done -Yoinking!- about on Sanghelios and Covenant ships. The best Halo levels have always been the ones on our turf. The opening levels of Halo 2 and 3 are my favorite in the series.
Halo Wars 2 got me thinking about this. When I play Halo, I’m getting bored of little skirmishes and special operations. I want war - massive battles, destruction. And I want to be on the ground.
And forgive me, I don’t really give a damn about Elites.

Whats a kodiak? You mean the island I live on?
We have to keep this thread going so 343 can see how much we want Playable Elites back so they can put them in Halo 5.
Oh and looks like we hit Page 666. Someone grab some Holy Water!

No one knows what it is as it’s not cannon.
Oh crap, we’re on page 666 now…
I would be awesome to have Elites vs Spartans warzone game mode. Purple elites fighting olive green spartans with some prometheans thrown in the mix. Kind of HALO Wars vibe.
i don’t think elites will be playable like they use to be in halo 3. because of balancing issues as spartan heads are easier to hit than elite heads.
i would lie for a warzone invasion game type with one team as elites and the other as Spartans like in reach. that would be a fun game type
Someone there who can explain, why there is a scarab in my garden???
I heard a few rumours that 343i is looking to do it but it will but later on in halo 5 or 100% in halo 6
