Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Why do people care about playable elites. Also, OP what do you mean your ‘halo identity’ is as an elite. What the hell is a halo identity?

Lore wise, the UNSC can only do so much, they’re still recovering after a 20 plus year long war, and while they have the Infinity, they can only do so much before they’re taken down. The other races will have to pitch in, and if 343 doesn’t get that bit of idea through their heads that the Sangheili, and whoever else can pitch in to save their -Yoinks!-, then it proves that their writers ain’t thinking, or are hardly capable of such.I might hold off on that Xbox 1 until I see the wishes and desires of what we want put in place.

If your going to buy a xbox one, wait till you see a good deal. Don’t pay more then you have to or you might as well get a decent computer.

Lore wise the unsc and other races don’t get along, it’s funny how you think they need to work together. Has nothing to do with bad writing as its then bad writing to have everyone be oh so friendly when planets were glassed and the populace was annihilated into oblivion. Most people alive in halos current time will have deep scars in their minds on what happened and the billions of lives lost. then there’s the foreign races, they too will be very reluctant on working with others as many were forced into the covenant and even they had struggles and rebellion on their worlds and to them the humans did many devastating things to them as well. Point is few groups will be willing to work together, and it’ll be bad writing on forcing it.

Don’t bother talking to the OP. He hasn’t posted since 2013 on page 375. But look at it like this… if your favorite game series had a feature for almost 8 years and suddenly it gets ripped away what would you do?

The thing is, if the Elites were larger and faster it would change the game. We would have an element of asymmetric gameplay that would realistically make things far more interesting and difficult. The Elites wouldn’t necessarily be unbalanced with their massive head hitbox and lack of Spartan abilities. 343I would need to work out the details, but this kind of asymmetric gameplay would add another level of uniqueness to the game that would further separate it from games like COD.

Depends on what the feature is. I don’t care for playable elites. It was cool in halo 2, but that is over and done with and I have no interest in them being in matchmaking. I felt the same way about dual wielding, I don’t think it has a place and I’m glad it’s gone.

I just want someone to explain to me why playable elites are a big deal.

We’ve been crying for playable elites since before it was even known there wouldn’t be a UNSC air vehicle and those people got what they want.
>

> I haven’t given up. I will always want playable elites but just not on h5. I think they should prioritize fixing MCC and work on h6. I’d prefer them doing this route instead because I don’t want h6 being buggy. Plus when h6 comes out a lot of the community will be going there anyhow. I honestly don’t like the REQ system at all. I’d prefer paying for dlc and getting good maps instead of getting more copied or useless maps. Also it’s not just 343 it is the community as well

Now thats the spirit

Oh yeah, about a week ago I decided to start following it too, since this is the only thread on Waypoint I continuously care about.

There are plenty of people within this community that are very much interested in the lore behind the Sangheili, myself included. It’s a big deal because those who are interested in them and would very much love to play as them had them taken away from them, not in the sense of the game overall but the satisfaction of playing as one. For a lot of people it wasn’t just a matchmaking aesthetic but more a character.

Definitely following this topic. But in all honesty I do not think they will add playable elites in H6 because it seems like they don’t even care about elites to begin with, just go look at H5’s campaign. The only one that looks decent is the Arbiter (thank god).

Well that’s because Kieth David is the one that matters.

I know but it just feels like they are really bad at creating connections between the characters and the audience.

Yeah unfortunately…

Feels like every time this arguement is made, it just gets swept to the side.

Actually, even though they left out the biggest factor (Playable Sangheili) when it comes to caring about them, there were quite a few moments where they paid some respect to the Sangheili.

  • Vale could speak in the Sangheili language and used it to alert the Arbiter that they were there to save him from the assault on the Elder Council.
  • When Buck saw dead SoS members, he regarded them as his ‘brothers’.
  • All the SoS members conversations which kind of gives you an idea of what’s going on within their society. There were definitely more examples but I can’t remember them.

Hey everyone we just put A third video on the Sangheili Rebellion. #BringBackElites.

I dont know if this has been discussed or anything, but I wonder will 343 throw this in Halo 5 or 6. It’d be pretty sweet to be a Elite again or pilot a Goblin, maybe a reversed Warzone mode where you kill Spartans? Or maybe be Prometheans.

The Goblin was specifically made by Unggoy for Unggoy so it’d be the first time anyone gets to play as an Unggoy at least.

Intresting points.
