I do believe they have limited time/resources to some extent, but it kind of seems like laziness at this point. Did we ever ask for the Grunt Goblin mech? I think the Grunt Goblin is very cool and it’s a completely original design, but that shows me they do have the time and resources. Why has time and resources been wasted on making pizza and fries weapon skins? I know they’re only minor things but it’s still infuriating to have demanded for a feature that should have never been removed and still not get it after 4 years.

The model is already in the game and they could just have it like halo 2 and 3 where they were in every game mode. People don’t give a damn if they have a disadvantage or not, plus all they would have to do is make first person animations.

In all seriousness it’s more than just a model, you have to give them animations that the player does to move (players move much different than A.I. Elites), new abilities (if they don’t simply add Spartan abilities to elites), then there’s the matter of armour unless you’d be ok with just a select few when compared to the Spartans, coding (believe it or not), list goes on. I do agree it is laziness on 343s part, it’s more than that tho, it’s their stubbornness, arrogance, pride, ect ect that has resulted in lack of playlists, gametypes, downgrade in features, delayed content, the worst campaign in halo and the first bad one at that.

We don’t give a damn if we have like 2-3 armors or not we just care that we can be playable. Look at MCC we only had 3 set of armor for H2A and they were badass!!! All the other armors were what bungie put. But the 343 armors looked amazing!

You do have to understand that it isn’t a simple copy and paste, while many may come to believe such a thing is possible. In autodesk, maya, or any other 3d animation program it is never that simple. Both of you seem to realize that it would take time and effort, though I don’t think it’s due to laziness. They have deadlines, and more than likely have a set plan they have to abide by in ways of content.

They should’ve got it done since Halo 4, they’ve had plenty of demand and plenty of time. Laziness and lack of interest to 343 is what caused the overall collapse due to the missing bits and pieces of Halo exclusive elements. Elites being the third biggest of the giant heap of problems.
Im wondering if we might get something sangheli related in some of the future updates, especially since we got a sanghelios map in the most recent update.

We might… while I am really happy we got a Sanghelios map, I’d prefer actual Sangheili.
With Halo 5 the problem is Spartan Abilities. Sangheili don’t have those, and without making MJOLNIR for them, there’s no real smart way to implement it.
That said…?
Oh yeah. Sangheili in MJOLNIR would be BADASS.

Well 1 instead of a thrust it could be a Dodge roll. Or 2 since Sangheili are allied with the UNSC they could outfit the SOS with new experimental armor, therefore adding the spartan abilities to elites in a perfect lore way for their “canon matchmaking”

Really could be a thing in universe given helioskrill exist.
So they can have the same abilities.
343 did say they wanted SoS to look diffrent from the bad guy covies but didn’t have time to do so.

I said this before in here, but just to say it again because I feel like saying it.
It is canon that the Swords of Sanghelios and the UNSC are sharing technology. There is actually no real argument against an elite having all those abilities.
" But an elite doing ground pound looks so funny." Ground pound itself looks ridiculous as it is. It is ridiculous! It makes no sense!
" But, what about the size of the elite hitboxes? They are too big." Those Halo 2 Anniversary models from the campaign are pretty slim and would work just fine.
" But they are going to ruin my one true competitive multiplayer dream where I can finally feel important in something, and be good at it.We can’t let them in!" Good for you, they wouldn’t even have to be in Arena.
" Well, what does that mean? They will still ruin it for me, please don’t add them back." Right, because their presence in other game modes stops you from keeping your K/D ratio positive in Arena.

I would also have to say that in Canon Sangheili really dislike having augmentations to assist them. Though this has to do tradition, and how they would prefer to show their skill through their own body rather than being assisted. Of course at the same time the Sangheili are at a pivotal period in history of their species currently. Tradition vs Progress. Sangheili have openly begun to accept medicine, some are even becoming doctors. So it could be possible for Sangheili at some point to gain an open mind that they will accept the same technological assistance that Spartan-IV’s with GEN2 Mjolnir Variants will add.

Indeed very true. The endless competitive players are too caught up in keeping their precious K/D positive. Thank you for highlighting this. People should look at these facts before attacking our thread. But then again a ground pounding elite would be quite interesting if done right. Unless we wanted a different offensive ability.

What about instead of a ground pound with the jets they pull out a gravity hammer and slam into the ground like a brute chieftain from halo 3…

There’s already an animation for using the ground pound and the hammer. It’s nothing more than aesthetics. Also for the lore, elites HATE the brutes, everything about them including their weapons. They most likely wouldn’t issue a weapon like that. Also you would run into two things: 1, with no mentions of the brutes how is it a gravity hammer regarded as the Brute’s symbol of leadership and power is standard issue to all combat ready elites, and 2 players would complain of how they could magically pull out a classic power weapon to slam on the ground and put it away. It would create similar balancing problems to the initial release of Infinity Slayer in Halo 4 but on a bigger scale.
Thruster could easily become an evasive roll for elites, clamber can remain the same. Elite charge sounds a bit strange so maybe it should be melee weapon specific? An elite charging and swiping at you with an energy sword would be pretty awesome. I have no idea what could replace ground pound. As mentioned before in this thread, balancing is always a thing people are going to complain about so it should be done in the same way as Halo Reach. Yeah elites were a bigger target and their heads practically shouted “shoot me here” but they could be faster and jump slightly higher.

For the charge they could use the energy dagger from reach, and for ground pound they could pull out a small gravity hammer and swing down like a brute chieftain from H3
