According to the leak, Microsoft was responsible for no playable Elites as they FORCED 343 ignore features like Playable Elites, Infection and other big things so they could focus on competitive gameplay and Esports to see if it could be marketable like League of Legends. So from now on, don’t hate on 343, hate on Microsoft. It’s THEIR fault, not 343 as we all have assumed.
Ok guys, it’s been awhile since I’ve been here, but I think with this new update we should certainly have some hope, just not too much that we get our hopes up. 343 is going all in, this is their big send off with the game, and we’ve already seen how much they’re doing. 2 new warzone maps, plus one based in Sangheilios, the new UNSC air vehicle- we’re getting a lot. I thought this update was supposed to be in June but it looks like it’s getting pushed back, just showing how large scale this is. We don’t know what they will put in, but I think there is certainly a chance that we’ll have the playable elites with this.

Well, if it has to be paid for, then we probably wont get that kind of feature. It wouldn’t make any sense for playable elites to be put in as DLC we have to pay for. In that case, if this update doesn’t surprise us with the feature, then we wont get them. Simple as that…

I thought they were just stopping monthly updates after Warzone Firefight, then still giving free content in game every few months.
Every now and then I think somebody should make a post saying how elites could be added to halo 5 just in case somebody comes across and makes arguments against implementation along with just having the occasional constructive post on the topic.
