I proposed to my friend a copy pasted model of a hunter that you would play in third person like a vehicle, and it would be a req that cost as much as a mantis. He was mind blown, now he wants hunter reqs.
Honestly, I personally don’t miss Elites, but hey, if other people want to play as a giant lumbering target with a huge head, that’s fine by me.

I personally just enjoy the elites lore. It is far more interesting than the Spartans. I welcome the challenges that having a larger head and model overall bring, I just think reptilian space samurai are cool.

You know what… with the topic of special abilities for elites, it would be nice if we could dual wield energy swords as elites. That would be fun as -Yoink-, even if it was hard to get kills with xD
Well maybe it would be easier to get kills with that if there was firefight or spartan ops type variants where you play as the SoS. Damn there’s a lot 343 could do.

I can only imagine, Ripa Moramee’s Energy Swords as a Req drop. not sure what advantage they could give over a normal Energy Sword though. Maybe the ability to hit multiple targets in front of you or something like that in Warzone…

It a real shame that I need to warn you not to get your hopes up, this thread per-dates Halo 4 and got nothing. It’s sad but true.
But I still think it may be safe to silently keep your fingers crossed

Being realistic and taking as many things into consideration that I can, it makes absolutely no sense that elites are not playable. It fits the canon, the people who don’t want elites are an extreme minority. Most are either indifferent or want them. The community has proposed compromises, such as their exclusion from arena. I could go on if I decided so but I don’t think I need to.
You know what would of been weird? If there was a skull for Halo: Reach called Heretic, and it replaces the players Spartan character in SP with their Elite MP model (Even if it screws with the cut scenes)

Sangheili are Sangheili, I just want some consistency. If you choose an art style for the Sangheili, stay on it please. The return to the old style may have to do with people asking for it, and that doesn’t bother me. I enjoy both styles of Sangheili. The Halo 4-5 look better in my opinion, but if the style goes back, don’t just have it in one game never to be seen again. Mix the art styles together like one does in the comics, or simply stay consistent with one model type. The flip flopping is was gets to me.

At first I hated the new look of the elite phenotype that they displayed, now I have come to like it because the elites look fiercer. But I still prefer the old style, especially for people it’s already established for, like the arbiter. All in all I don’t care what model they choose to use in the future, I just want to play as one of them!
I can understand clearly the reservations that 343 has for re-implementing playable elites due to balancing, time and resource allocation, and some other factors. But I really think that the community demand overshadows those reservations, as it is important to many. Same could be said about adding the falcon.

edit* but it is because there is no definitive answer, they don’t want to get hopes up, and they don’t want to upset people more by outright saying no.

Don’t knowing they’ve replied in the thread, I’m not going to look through 600 pages to find out either. Regardless tho 343 has already said they’d “try” to get elites in h6 as well as split screen and a few other things that I consider minor (air vehicles for unsc) that there really isn’t any point to reply to something they’ve already said they’d attempt to do. Do people need reassurance every time they ask? If I were a dev that’d be annoying as -Yoink-, understandable, but annoying.
