Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

> First-person animations would need to be made for Elites from scratch but we know it’s completely within 343’s scope to manage, they just chose not too. There’s also a bit of UI work involved with tying all the options and variables together but it’s nothing more than time consuming for a AAA developer.

> Elites don’t need to be in regular Arena where they would unbalance the game, they could be in a dedicated playlist and we’d have no more reason to continue this witch-hunt.
>
> I think a big reason why 343 seem so reluctant to put Elites in one of their games is that it contrasts with the “dude bro” themes of the Spartan 4’s and they are afraid of people expecting the same amount of cosmetic options as the Spartans.

> I don’t know anymore, I’m kinda just in denial about this whole thing, I always used to marvel at how Halo was one of the only franchises where they improved on almost every aspect with each subsequent release, it seems that that level of quality has gone out of fashion.

I agree. It would seem like putting your heart and soul in a game has gone out of style.

I think Elites would fit fine in social playlists (especially if they add more). The MLG 420 eSports blaze it crowd can keep their ‘everything exactly the same’ gameplay. I’m dying for a bit of nonsymetrical challenge, such as playing as an elite. I like the idea for balance of the faster shield as well!

> I really don’t get why people care so much about Elites. They’re alright, and fun to fight, but there’s A) no canonical reason why they should be able to stand up to a Spartan (just look at the ‘Monsters’ cinematic in Halo Wars) and B) they’re just nowhere near as cool. The second part may be subjective, though xD

Actually it is canon that elites train with Spartans. It says it in one of the books I think. So your logic is invalid, therefor you suck. :joy:

They were playable in all Bungie halos except 1 and ODST

true and the Elite´s are a big part in the Halo universum!

This was posted in 2012, why are they still talking about Halo 4? Did I miss something

Since I am not going to read all 617 pages I apologize if this was already mentioned, but 343 just added an Elite (Arbiter) to Killer Instinct. I assume they did this because they thought Elites are popular and might generate sales. Also included were quite a few customization options. I am sure you can’t just move the model and animations straight over, but it seems like a lot of the work has already been done. I don’t play Killer Instinct but I took it as a good sign that Elites might return to multiplayer. I do read all the Halo books and there are now several that focus almost completely on the Elites, so I am also confused why 343 keeps providing tidbits to the Elite fanbase without making them playable.

Yes you have! We’ve moved on to h5g.

It should be back, who cares if its canon? did spartans actually have pizza guns? you could do so much more! and with the Spartan & Elite co-operation with the arbiter it would make sence for them to work together and train together right?

When I first saw warzone trailers, I thought “cool spartans fighting elites in a massive battle”. Clearly I was mistaken. But since there is an alliance between humans and elites, and the covenant is basically gone…halo 6= return of the elites? It would honestly make sense, given where the story has gone in H5, and in a social playlist like warzone, who cares if they play differently.

heck, id take even just a sangheili based map on a ship or preferable their dusty homeworld in an old temple with some Helioskrill flying around or something lit by cyan crystal light

I’m back my brothers, but only for one quick post as I have to get ready for work. It’s nice to see the thread blowing up in comments again

Wow. Okay, I do like playing as Elites, but I can see why they would take it out. But, that’s just my opinion.

I dont have hope for this :frowning:

On a ship and that’s it? One, that’s Truth, Midship’s remake in Halo 5. Two, we want playable Elites more than Sangheili-themed maps. Although having both would be awesome

The Sangheili Rebellion will die IF we let it die, so do not lose hope. Spread the hastag’s #BringBackElites and #SangheiliRebellion and make a YouTube video about why you want Elites back. If the rebellion dies, it’s because we let it die by doing nothing. Thus, we MUST do something

This thread is just loaded with great ideas on how to balance elites, reasons why elites should be included in multiplayer, and outright devotion to bringing elites back to playable status as they should be. 343 is a great company, and they are opening so many doors to new things in Halo. If they ignore the fact that they have set themselves up for a perfect canonical reason to have elites in multiplayer I will be upset. Elites in multiplayer literally double the possibilities for having varried stats between Spartans and elites allowing people to choose what strengths to give and take. Or they could just put in elites as an astetic only thing. Halo 5 has passed, and I doubt elites will get added to multiplayer in it, but Halo 6 is where 343 can open the floodgates to ideas on threads like this. One can only hope that they follow the path that they are taking Halo on, because right now elites are allies, and they train alongside Spartans as 343 has stated. Halo 6 needs to have playable elites at this point because people want it, and not having them would be so contrary to the canon that they cited being the problem with elites in Halo 4. That it would outright make me lose all respect for 343.

Why did a post from 4 years ago come back?

But, as I have said before, me and a lot of other people don’t want to have to wait for x amount of years for halo 6 just to have something that never should have been removed.

i don’t like playing as an elite but I loved the way they implemented them in reach

It’s people like you we need more of. People that never even played as elites also don’t like them gone for what ever reason they have. And I approve of that. :+1:t2:
