Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

Hopefully never coming. I’m arguing against it. I at least don’t ever want to see PVP with both Elites and Spartans. Elite only PVP would be fine, but I think 343 should spend their time on more important things, like Infection and other new gametypes, maps, and Spartan armors. Playable Elites would take a lot of time to create, and the community seems to care more about things like Infection.

The only thing that had that was invasion and custom games. Just dnt play as one if you don’t like them.

Bring us Elites 343.

Elites were significantly harder to kill from behind because their heads were kind of hunched forward, making them harder to headshot from behind with a precision weapon when they had no shields. This made me feel like I had to chose an Elite in order to be competitive, even though I didn’t want to play as one, and that’s not fair.

Halo 3

They were both done in SWAT. Both the Spartan and Elite are on even ground, and both had their reticles at the same vertical position. I did not move my right stick vertically at all when switching from the Spartan to the Elite, as you can see. It seems the Elites didn’t have as big of an advantage in Halo 3, but they definitely had a big one in Halo 2, and I DO remember Elites being more popular than Spartans in Halo 2’s SWAT especially. They still have a slight advantage in Halo 3 though. What takes 1 shot to kill Spartans takes 3 shots to kill Elites in H2, and 2 shots in H3. Also, notice on the Halo 2 video, I get a headshot medal on the Spartan, but just a regular kill medal on the Elite ( Halo 3 doesn’t show headshot or kill medals). So at the same position I was able to hit a Spartan in the head, I cannot hit an Elite in the head at all, it only hits their back.
>
> And just because I’m showing these off in SWAT, doesn’t mean it only happens in SWAT. Elites have this advantage in both SWAT and Slayer. If you get an Elite down to no-shields, you are going to have a harder time finishing the kill from behind than you would have if they were a Spartan.
>
> Who’s ignorant now?

I was watching those two videos I recorded above, and I was thinking, maybe I’m not being precise enough? It does look like I’m shooting their backs in the videos. But then again, I shouldn’t have to be more precise. That’s an unfair advantage for the Elite’s if I have to be more precise for them than I do for Spartans. Nevertheless, I went back and tried to be as precise as possible when shooting an Elite in the head from behind. Check out the results:
Halo 2
Halo 3
I try to be more precise, and look what happens! Each one took one more shot than the previous videos!

If anything it adds more and makes things more competitive. Isn’t using your advantages the name of the game? Spartans are smaller targets so spray and pray weapons are not as effective on them as they are Elites. Elites supposedly are harder to headshot from the back, that is if they choose to add them in a hunched over style like halo 3 which, I don’t think they will if they decide to add them. Also I’m pretty sure most of the elite fans would be more than happy with the Reach style in which they are limited to certain game modes such as invasion and customs. As far Spartans training with Elites, look up project anvil. That will answer your question. I suggest you chill out because no one knows what will happen with Elites in future titles and as far as we know at the moment there aren’t any plans for them so, just take it easy. The people on this forum are just clinging to hope that they will be playable in a form that pleases everyone one day. Compromise is the best we can hope for. To be honest, I think 343 has made some fundamental flaws with halo and I’m not talking about Elites being playable. Sacrificing split screen was a big mistake and I also think they took some wrong turns with the story and the campaign. Cortana died in halo 4 except she didn’t and and now she’s the galaxies greatest threat, doctor Halsey is a war criminal except now she isn’t. Jul 'Mdama was an awesome character who was a huge part of the Kilo five trilogy except he was killed off in like the first cutscene in just the worst way. It all seems like bad writing to me and I hate to admit that because I love Halo. Not to mention that we fight the same boss like ten times over in the campaign. To me the story is the most important part of halo, but the multiplayer kept me playing. Now, 343 did a good job balancing multiplayer, but it seems to be lacking in the fundamentals that make halo what it is, such as split screen, classic playlists, non competitive gameplay.

Competitive gameplay is part of Halo. That was 343’s big focus for Halo 5. Making it more fair, balanced, and competitive for greater use in pro-gaming.

Either you’re not very smart or you never played Halo.

Here’s the thing, you are only one right now. WE ARE MANY! This thread has continued for the inevitable return of the Elites in Halo’s multiplayer since before Halo 4’s launch. Thousands of posts begging for the return of playable Elites, over a couple saying to keep them out.

Now I hear your arguement of them ruining competitive gameplay, well the answer is simple, just keep them out of Ranked Arena playlists and restrict them to Social Non-ranked Arena Playlists, Warzone, Warzone: Assault, Warzone: Firefight (since we’re not going up against other players, there shouldn’t be an issue here) and Custom Games.

We have been asking for this for years, we are willing to keep them out of competitive Arena (including your precious SWAT). We’re willing to restrict them to certain gametypes, like Infection, or Invasion. We deserve to play as Elites again after waiting for so long. We have more reasons to add them back in than you have reasons to keeping them out.

You see Arctic, you can’t kill, what WON’T DIE

Edit: It’s so sad to see how selfish some so-called “members” of the Halo Community can be

What are you talking about you moron?
“There has to be a drawback to duelwielding. So what you want us to be able to throw grenades while duel wielding?”
Uh, no, I don’t want dual wielding in Halo at all! They never should have put it in Halo 2 or 3!
“How does it destroy the sandbox? Prove yourself”
You’re an idiot. I just explained this: “I remember someone at Bungie back in the CE days, say that what makes Halo so much fun is the sandbox of the gun, melee, and grenade. But for some reason, they didn’t realize until Reach, that if you allow dual-wielding, you destroy that sandbox.” It destroys the sandbox because it eliminates the grenade and melee abilites, which are two of the three parts of the fun Halo sandbox. Anyway, this isn’t a discussion about dual wielding.

Uh, ok? How does that matter? I don’t want Elites mixed with Spartans in PVP period. Not in social, ranked, or Warzone even. Warzone Firefight would be fine. Campaign would be fine. Elite’s only PVP would be fine. Just not Elites and Spartans in PVP. “Your precious SWAT” Lol, god that was a stupid thing to say. Yeah, ok, I’m being selfish because I want Halo 5 to remain balanced and fair.

I guess some people aren’t willing to sacrifice grenade throws and melee when duel wielding. If you don’t want to duel wield, then don’t. That simple and along with that, you act like you’re the smartest person on the forums when you’re clearly not. Lastly, you clearly have no respect for anyone

Obviously Bungie realized how it hurt Halo’s sandbox, otherwise, why did they remove it? Lol, yeah, and you’re so respectful: “Either you’re not very smart or you never played Halo.”

No, you’re selfish because you want Halo’s online gameplay to play as how YOU want it to be. Not caring for what other people want. It’s people like you that I don’t consider “true” Halo fans. We’re willing to keep them out of competitive play, but that’s not good enough for you. You can’t even let them in Social playlists or even Warzone or Warzone: Assault where balance isn’t as strict. Everything has to be done YOUR way apparently. You are a selfish person that cares nothing for what other people want

And your different, how? You just want Halo to be the way you want it to be. At least what I’m saying makes sense. I don’t care who you consider “true” fans. I don’t value your opinion in the slightest anymore.

And I REALLY don’t want this to happen. I HATED that players could chose to play as an Elite in Halo 2 and 3. Those who played as an Elite had an unfair advantage, especially in game types like SWAT. Elites were significantly harder to kill from behind because their heads were kind of hunched forward, making them harder to headshot from behind with a precision weapon when they had no shields. This made me feel like I had to chose an Elite in order to be competitive, even though I didn’t want to play as one, and that’s not fair.
> > > > > > >
> > > > > > > For those who want to play as an Elite, you can simply wear the Helioskrill armor, which looks very similar to an Elite, but without the screwed up head position. I really hope 343 never adds Elites to Halo multiplayer again. Playable Elites should die with Halo 3, like dual wieldable weapons, and never, ever return. Both just hurt Halo’s sandbox and competitiveness. 343 got so many things right with Halo 5, I hope they don’t question their good decisions and backtrack on them.
> > > > > > >

It doesn’t really make sense then, story-wise, for the UNSC to just invite a bunch of Sangheili to play with them all the time. It’s suppose to be somewhat of a training simulation for Spartans in the UNSC, isn’t it? We’re Spartans.

I only have respect for those who deserve respect. Like America’s troops who work day and night to keep us safe. Like MLK for working as hard as he could to make his dream a reality. Or anyone who is actually respectful to others

“And your different how”

First off, it’s “you’re”. Take English class.

Secondly, you’re throwing my own insults I made at you back at me. “You just want Halo to be the way you want it to be”. You can’t even make up a simple comeback.

Thirdly, In response to that statement, I want Halo to be for ALL players, Elite players (like myself), the Split-screenists (have to feel bad for their loss), the Campaign players, the Forgers, the Machinima-makers. The way I want Halo to be is where most, if not ALL Halo players are satisfied with everything. No more complaining, no more issues, just everyone sitting down on their chair or couch, playing some Halo rather their friend is next to them on said couch, or online on the other side of the world having fun.

Lastly, “At least what I’m saying makes sense”. So keeping an entire part of the community in the dark makes sense? I understand keeping the balance in competitive Arena multiplayer as balanced as possible. That’s fine, you can keep Elites out of there, it makes sense, but what doesn’t make sense is fragmenting a part of the community by keeping Elites as non-NPC’s. Warzone, Warzone: Assault, Warzone: Firefight, Invasion (should it hopefully come back in the “Memories of Reach” update), Social Non-ranked Arena playlists and Custom Games are the perfect places to have playable Elites. If not even Social Arena, then everything else listed.

Oh and why do many people go to Halo 3 and Halo: Reach for machinima and not Halo 5? (Besides the -Yoink- theater mode they made) Elites. We wouldn’t have the Aliens in RvB (including Tuckers son without them being in Halo 2)

You don’t give a damn, but I do

You can’t kill Immortality, this thread is a testament to immortality, progress can’t be halted and if it can certainly not by some disrespective person who can’t defend him/her/itself with relevant facts.

You can’t insult us and comment on our ‘idiocy’ with little proof or respect when all we have done is hope, respect and use the common decency and facts. Halo Reach with Elites playable was excellent. And Reach to this day still hasn’t died like other games. We are stating the benefits to Halo this would make. So go ahead, keep throwing unsupported insults at us all day long, but know that if you are attempting to kill this thread…it’s just immortal.

Nuff said.

My bad, sorry, I’m a bit of a grammar -Yoink!- myself. Everyone makes spelling mistakes though. I highly doubt you’ve never made that mistake.
Uh, I dunno, I think basically calling you a hypocrite is a pretty good “comeback”.
If every player was satisfied, I don’t think Halo would be a very good game. How is what I’m arguing for keeping an entire community in the dark? Screw the community that wants to have an unfair advantage over other players who don’t chose the same character they do. I don’t want to deal with Elites that don’t die from headshots from behind, while I die easily by them. I don’t want to deal with that in social anymore than I want to deal with it in ranked. If everyone has that advantage fine. Elites only PVP, Elites in Warzone, Elites in Campaign, all fine! Just don’t give another player an advantage I can’t have. ranked or not. I could say you’re the one being selfish here, insisting that you have an advantage over other players for no reason. “but what doesn’t make sense is fragmenting a part of the community by keeping Elites as non-NPC’s.” Lol, What? Non-non-playable-characters? Guess I’m not the only one making mistakes today.

According to the service record this troll did not play any Halo game until Halo 4, guess that answers a lot of questions, and makes clear that he is a liar who is trying to bother us, now he has begun to insult people, my suggestion is call out for a Monitor to kick him out from here before he can drive mad someone and endanger this thread.

“I could say you’re the one being selfish here, insisting that you have an advantage over other players for no reason”

When did I EVER say I wanted Elites back AND for them to have an advantage over Spartans? Now you’re just making stuff up at this point.

“Screw the community”

  1. People want to play as Elites not because of some advantage they might have, but because Elites are awesome and fun to play as.

  2. “Screw the community” SCREW THE COMMUNITY?! You don’t belong in the Halo Community, just leave and don’t come back

Artic here fights with passion, but for the wrong cause.

You mentioned that I didn’t include footage in that old post. Check back. I did.
But I’m a nice guy and here’s the link again:

Sorry that you have to copy and paste that, I need to figure that out still. And I just read through all of those posts since my last one. I think they changed the mechanic for headshotting Elites. I can recreate the video that I've linked above on my 360 copy of Halo 3, but not in MCC. Maybe I'm not precise enough? Strange, isn't it?

Another note, in the video you aim on the tip of the neck. I aim at that black panel and I’m fine. Maybe because of the fact that they’re hunched over it counts as hitting the shoulders or something? idk.

RZI, unless we see the engine rebuilt from scratch for Halo 6, I don’t think Split-Screen is coming back…

Let’s just stop with this argument here shall we? I mean, two pages of that is already more than enough, right?
