Sangheili (Elites) In New Trilogy Matchmaking (Part 1)

I found bring able to play as an elite an unforgettable highlight for the games

It would be amazing if the elites returned in H6 as playable and with a bigger role in the game.

Not even that. I ahd fun being an elite before swat came into the mix.

I miss being able to play as the elites… ):

So do I, but we need to keep it going. 343 must know about this,

It’s been proven multiple times that Elites held no advantage in SWAT. If anything, they were easier to kill.

It appears that Waypoint has done a double post. How strange…

Hey, 343i, there are players who want playing as Elites back! Yeah, they are listening…

Wort wort wort.

Not at all, actually. Seeing as microtransactions are the reason we are recieving free content updates, it would only be logical to purchase large quantities of REQ packs. Only, of course, if playable Elites are, through some divine miracle, integrated into the Halo 5 multiplayer through said updates.

Well I’m not sure it’s worth your entire life savings but either way who am I to judge, I respect that dedication though

Well, I don’t know fi we are going to get them in Halo 5. Halo 6 will be our best option. Especially since DLC of a character model has never been done before in a FPS game. Still, keep on fighting everyone.

343 is too balanced specific. Like balanced hardcore. Who cares! Just put them in a separate playlist like infection or btb, or even invasion! If not Warzone I can kind of understand because Warzone is a simulation for Spartan IV’s, war games.

While I agree the best bet is for Halo 6, I don’t believe that adding a new model as DLC is impossible. Impractical sure, but not limited by tech.

Still, I don’t think playable Elites are suddenly going to become a higher priority. They’ve released two original FPS Halos so far, neither had them, and the games still sold pretty well with no indication that their absence made a significant impact on sales (or that the want/desire justified the work to add them).

Has any headway been observed since this thread was made?

All of Halo 5’s multiplayer takes place in War Games simulations, not just Warzone. Honestly, in the event Elites were made playable I’d prefer it be in Warzone & customs, but out of Arena matchmaking.

Not everyone cares about identical starts and a focus on balance, but others do… and Arena is generally tailored towards the latter, Warzone to the former.

PLEASE, 343! NO ELITES IN H5 (or H6) MULTIPLAYER!

I’m not sure if 343 is thinking about bringing Elites / Sangheili back to Halo multiplayer or not, but I’ve been hearing a lot of fans asking for it and saying they “NEED” to return. And I REALLY don’t want this to happen. I HATED that players could chose to play as an Elite in Halo 2 and 3. Those who played as an Elite had an unfair advantage, especially in game types like SWAT. Elites were significantly harder to kill from behind because their heads were kind of hunched forward, making them harder to headshot from behind with a precision weapon when they had no shields. This made me feel like I had to chose an Elite in order to be competitive, even though I didn’t want to play as one, and that’s not fair.

For those who want to play as an Elite, you can simply wear the Helioskrill armor, which looks very similar to an Elite, but without the screwed up head position. I really hope 343 never adds Elites to Halo multiplayer again. Playable Elites should die with Halo 3, like dual wieldable weapons, and never, ever return. Both just hurt Halo’s sandbox and competitiveness. 343 got so many things right with Halo 5, I hope they don’t question their good decisions and backtrack on them.

Minor point: Isn’t Arena suppose to be this war-games simulation for SPARTANS? It doesn’t really make sense then, story-wise, for the UNSC to just invite a bunch of Sangheili to play with them all the time. It’s suppose to be somewhat of a training simulation for Spartans in the UNSC, isn’t it? We’re Spartans.

P.S. I’m all for playable Sangheili in the Campaign, I just never want to see them in PVP again.

Your one and only example is SWAT in Halo 3, ignoring the fact that if Elites were added in it would be guaranteed to be Reach-like in that they are restricted to their own gamemodes. Even in Halo 3 it really wasn’t that big of a deal. Sure in SWAT it can be harder to hit their head from the back, which doesn’t really matter if you’re shooting somebody who can’t see you in SWAT anyway because they might as well already be dead, but that awkward head pointing out in front of them is also impossible to miss from any other direction especially the side. All still irrelevant because there wouldn’t be Spartans and Elites in standard SWAT in the first place.

And for the canon thing yet again, no. I wouldn’t expect anyone to read through this entire topic but damn, I swear it gets brought up on every single page. Sangheili participation to some small extent is confirmed and common sense says that fighting Sangheili instead of fellow Spartans in a training simulation would make much more sense regardless. Unless they expect half their Spartans to rebel at some point. Ha.

That’s not really a well justified statement. The Halo 3 and 2 models were broken, plus, in Halo Reach they have always worked just fine. It matters not. Elites have their own advantages because they are a different species, Spartans have theirs in other ways. Competitive playlists do not require elites, but for social and Warzone in some extent, then it is simply a good point as it differentiates Halo from many other FPS games that just make you play as a human, regardless of if you are a technologically modified super soldier, you are still human. But Elites have been a great thing Halo has had and when you think about it, without these different options it defeats what makes Halo such a great game. I’m not saying I need them to survive in future Halo games but I would be much more happy to play Halo 5 or 6 hen it comes out if Elites are playable. And Helioskrill isn’t as easy to obtain. Especially if you are a casual player that loves Elites, I’m not too casual but I know the feeling of it. I’d much rather play as an Elite most of the time rather than a Spartan all the time. Especially when there are clearly others here and in other threads who want Elites to return. 343 has spoils us with updates that competitive players essentially payed for in micro transactions, it is not impossible to make Elites playable again. We don’t need so many Arena maps, whilst I have loved the past few, I just want to play as an Elite again. It can yield many many more possibilities and I will stand by my word there forever. Not everyone wants to play as Spartans all the time, I enjoy my Human characters but my thirst for major attention to Elites will continue until we get what we want. And this Immortal thread will never cripple! Even when we get them back!

Looks like someone is afraid of a little challenge! XD Also I fail to see how having duel wielding and Elites hurts halos sandbox and competitiveness. If anything it adds more and makes things more competitive. Isn’t using your advantages the name of the game? Spartans are smaller targets so spray and pray weapons are not as effective on them as they are Elites. Elites supposedly are harder to headshot from the back, that is if they choose to add them in a hunched over style like halo 3 which, I don’t think they will if they decide to add them. Also I’m pretty sure most of the elite fans would be more than happy with the Reach style in which they are limited to certain game modes such as invasion and customs. As far Spartans training with Elites, look up project anvil. That will answer your question. I suggest you chill out because no one knows what will happen with Elites in future titles and as far as we know at the moment there aren’t any plans for them so, just take it easy. The people on this forum are just clinging to hope that they will be playable in a form that pleases everyone one day. Compromise is the best we can hope for. To be honest, I think 343 has made some fundamental flaws with halo and I’m not talking about Elites being playable. Sacrificing split screen was a big mistake and I also think they took some wrong turns with the story and the campaign. Cortana died in halo 4 except she didn’t and and now she’s the galaxies greatest threat, doctor Halsey is a war criminal except now she isn’t. Jul 'Mdama was an awesome character who was a huge part of the Kilo five trilogy except he was killed off in like the first cutscene in just the worst way. It all seems like bad writing to me and I hate to admit that because I love Halo. Not to mention that we fight the same boss like ten times over in the campaign. To me the story is the most important part of halo, but the multiplayer kept me playing. Now, 343 did a good job balancing multiplayer, but it seems to be lacking in the fundamentals that make halo what it is, such as split screen, classic playlists, non competitive gameplay.
